A/N: Good day. This is an original branch of the Zelda universe, and is placed 5,000 years after the events of Breath of the Wild. Just a few notes so fans wouldn't be triggered: The Yiga clan does still exist in this story. Let's just say, a different Yiga clan. Second, major characters, like Sidon and Impa are NOT the same as their game counterparts, for obvious reasons.
Hope y'all are oki doki with this.
Throughout history, Hylians became desperate to find a way to prepare the arrival of evil. After another turn of the clock of the Hero of Hyrule, Link and his descendants became the Royal Knights of the Hyrule family. This proved to easily fulfill a fraction of the never-ending curse.
Linkell is the second born child of the Link legacy, and did not follow the example of her ancestors. She was never supposed to be the Hero of the Kingdom, so she became a lazy, carefree young lady with the temper of a Gerudo.
Meanwhile, the infamous bookworm prince, Zheik, studied the legends of Link and Zelda nearly religiously, pouring his soul into their teachings. Being the grandchild of Zelda, Zheik spent his life daydreaming of an adventure that most said he'll never have the pleasure of.
Deep in the forests of Faron, a deathly black sword hummed a song to the Great Deku Tree. Dispatching a impish fairy to find the fated wielder of the salacious Ghirahim, the clouds of evil came to stir from the corners of Hyrule...
"GET UP! Geez, you stupid Hylians are so bed-ridden!" Yeah, yeah, I'll go with that if he's still asleep, which is nearly positive, eager thoughts raced through Midna's mind as she nimbly dashed her way to the bustling Castle Town.
As the imp darted though the colorful streets and loud music, she eyed off the looming peaks of Hyrule Castle. The Hero of Hyrule was sure to be there, right?
"Little girl. The Hero rests in the barracks, NOT in the castle."
"How was I suppose to know, again? And for Din's sake, I'm not a little girl!"
Midna hissed at the silk, demonic voice of Ghirahim that ringed in her head like clanging bells. As the fairy flew forward, small murmurs erupted, mocking the winged light for her clumsiness as she bumped into the Castle Guard's.
"Oh, the audacity! Child, are you going to let them talk ill of you?!"
"Since when did you care about my dignity?"
"You're my representative! You have to seem as proper and as glamorous as I!"
Yeah, right. Midna mused as she scanned the grey suburbs for a small, homey-looking accommodation. Eventually, her sight settled on one with a small, rusted sign saying, "Link", that was drawn upon a comfy appearing house.
"Ah, I see. A girl. This will be interesting, indeed..."
