Hello, welcome to My Snow White Killer, a fan-fiction I wrote taking inspiration from Evanescence's song called Snow White Queen. Cells at Work belongs to Akane Shimizu.

Shiro = U-1146

My Snow White Killer

Shiro slowly opened his eyes and was met with an unfamiliar scene. The walls were a pale pink with some small veins and arteries visible within the walls, some pulsated. He was on the ground, that he assumed as he felt the warm ground beneath him…so he had been laying in this spot for quite some time. The floor matched the design of the wall he was currently staring at. Deciding that he was tired of laying down on the ground he tried to move his limbs, but they didn't respond to him. Panic immediately started to flood into his mind as he tried to command his limbs to start moving. His eyes widened as he felt paralysed…and worthless. An immunity cell who couldn't move their body. That was immediate termination! Once that realisation hit him, he continued to try and move his body in any form. He could look around, but the walls and floor grew dull and boring rather quickly. The tiny blood vessels were no different from how the veins and arteries looked, just some decided to pulsate while others didn't.

Where…am I?

He didn't know. How did he get here in the first place? Surely he should be out patrolling the body by now?! Why was he laying down on the ground in this strange place?! The more questions that filled his mind, the more panic he became. His nucleus was vibrating, threatening to jump up his throat and escape through his mouth. No! He needed to calm down! Nothing good happened when cells panicked! He still remembered being ran over by a panicking cell during the heat stress. He closed his eyes and focused on his breathing…in…out…in…out…in…out…his nucleus started to calm down. His brain started to clear. He remembered what happened.

He was out on patrol with U-4989 accompanying him on his journey as they were traveling in the same direction. U-4989 was traveling towards the nasal cavity while he himself was traveling towards the lungs. Then their receptors became active. The ding-dong-ding-dong he was trained to respond to, the sound that triggered his strength to travel to the surface of his membrane and provide the power to the swings or the stabs he made or the throws. It was the receptor that summoned that strength, just like their neutrophil mentor had taught him when they first brought receptors into class. Now it was time for them to spring into action, a germ was nearby and the game of cat and mouse started. The killer had come out to play now and he would let it until the receptor fell silent.

"U-1146, you travel down there while I'll go this way, report when you've found the germ!" U-4989 shouted at him, he agreed and they split. Shiro's hunter was active, cautiously moving around and keeping his hearing on high alert. Any sound of a scream or some germ talking to itself, he would hear it and he would chase it.

Teehee~

"I'm there…" Shiro whispered. He knew where he was now, but why couldn't he move? Did Cancer cell force him to drink any tea with a paralysing agent mixed in with the tea to keep him here? Did Cancer cell have his cancerous tissue pinning him down to the ground? He didn't now…there was a tiny part of him that DIDN'T want to know what sort of hell he was in. Maybe he could try…once more for good luck?

Tch, good luck…what good luck?

Shiro and good luck was something that never seemed to fit in the same sentence. He always seemed to have the bad luck. Always seeming to find himself either at the eye of the storm, or close to it. The neutrophil most sent to the macrophages because of his unexplainable lack of self-worth, always up for using himself as a shield for others. Why? Why was he born like this? Born to be infected with a bad-luck or trouble virus which cannot be treated. He knew that life wasn't fair…but being born with pure bad luck just seemed like the body needed a cell to pick on and he was the victim, created at the wrong time. Well there wasn't any point in feeling down about something out of his control, as long as he lived and continued to protect the body he would do just fine. Once more he tried to move his body and this time could feel his body responding.

He pushed himself up off the ground before rolling onto his back. The ceiling was just the same as the wall an the floor which gave him the hint as to where he was now. He gave out a sigh, he should have expected something like this to happen to him sooner or later. He was inside a turmour and he had a good idea on who had dragged him in here and why. At the moment though, that cancerous cell wasn't nearby…he hoped. He couldn't see him but that meant he could be planning something world threatening because Shiro was the one trapped here and not out there. He reached down to his trousers and felt for his blade…they were removed. Damn Cancer cell, taking away his knives and leaving him vulnerable like this! He quickly got onto his feet (wobbling slightly from a minor dizzy spell) before cautiously starting to back up to the wall of the tumour. If he could transmigrate out…he'll be free…but could he do that? Would it really be that simple?

You're cursed with bad luck; it won't be that simple.

He continued backing to the tumour wall before he stopped, he could feel something or someone watching him. Was Cancer cell busy creating those puppets of his again? Or was this someone else? Did Cancer cell catch someone else too? A way to bargain with him to behave? Didn't seem like Cancer cell's actions based on their history. Cancer cell would kill any immune cells and he doubted that he would be willing to chase AE-3803 down to catch her when they never actually met before…right?

Out from behind, a pair of arms wrapped around Shiro's body and held on tightly as Shiro's body tensed up before being gently pulled to something…or someone. As Shiro struggled more force was applied and soon Shiro felt the owner of the arms, the warm body which gave off the smell of cytoplasm. He had been out killing while Shiro had been laying on the tumour tissue, either unconscious or completely exhausted from a fight.

"Now, now…calm down~" A teasing yet venomous voice purred behind him. Shiro just wanted to grab one of his blades and slash that scarred neck open but…he didn't have a single blade on him not the ability to turn around. Cancer cell had him just where he wanted him. Tangled up in the cancerous tissues he called arms. "I've been waiting so patiently for you to awaken~"

"Why?" He asked, it was best to keep calm while talking to Cancer cell. Give that cell nothing he could turn against you, he stopped struggling. Why waste energy when it was clear that Cancer cell wasn't willing to let him go just yet.

"Why? Because I'm going to try and make you join me~ To create that world where we're not restricted by the chains of our roles. You can be free to befriend any cell, have them all on friendly terms instead of them fearing you because you're an immune cell. A world where we can be friends without the other immune cells looking down on you, and I can live free to be with you~"

"You keep assuming I'll join you. You're wrong!" Shiro tried to kick but some tissue quickly wrapped around his leg and prevented him from striking Cancer cell. It left him in a semi-awkward position though.

"I love your fighting spirit, I really do but I have no intention of hurting you," Cancer cell smiled behind Shiro before stretching up onto his tip-toes to try and reach Shiro's ear. "Do you want to know why~? My kind-hearted killer~"

"Even if I say no…I'm sure you'll tell me."

"While you're in my tumour, you belong to me, my snow white king~ There's nowhere to run~" He sang gently into Shiro's ear.

Shiro could feel the hot breath against his ear which made him shiver in the tissue. He hated this! Why did Cancer cell have such an obsession over him? He was just like any other neutrophil, protecting the body while using themselves as a shield…doing what's best for the body much like any other cell in this body. Why couldn't Cancer cell be obsessed over them?! He wanted to struggle more but struggling and balancing on one leg just didn't feel possible without making the situation worse. He thought for a second before he felt his hat being removed by Cancer cell.

"Careful!" Shiro snapped but his outburst only made Cancer cell chuckle.

"All I'm doing is removing your hat~ Why? The receptor of yours looks like it can break any second without me touching it."

His receptor…it was clear that Cancer cell wasn't in his disguised form yet it was being quiet. Did Cancer cell do something to the connection while he brought him here? Or did the receptor finally give up on him? He heard a soft sound as he watched his hat fall to the ground but his hair was soon invaded by Cancer cell's fingers. The sudden change made Shiro struggle and within a few seconds the pair of them were on the ground. Cancer cell laying innocently on top of him as he himself was laying on the ground once more. Back to square one.

"Careful, you'll hurt yourself!" Cancer cell scolded him as the cancerous tissue that held his leg let go.

"Not like you're not doing it already!" Shiro shot back at Cancer cell but once again, he was met with a chuckle, another tease as Cancer cell continued to play with the snow-white hair. No receptor and no hat to interrupt his fun.

"Ah, you're talking about the pride of an immune cell?" Cancer cell asked. "Yes, the loss of pride hurts…I've been through it too. Soon my love, you'll see you're just like me. Don't scream anymore, my love…"

"Give me one good reason!"

"'Cause all I want is you~" Cancer cell gently turned Shiro's head and planted a kiss on his pale cheek. "Sometimes, it's nice to receive some tender loving care…isn't it?" He asked as he saw a small blush starting to form on Shiro's face.
