A young child desperately ran through the woods of New York's Central Park, a huge beast pursuing the small boy as he scrambled to get away from the monster. He seemed to be running for hours, ducking and jumping over branches, splashing through shallow ponds. But he couldn't seem to get away from the brute. Whenever he seemed to have lost it it would come from the other direction, almost as if there were more than one chasing after him. "I can't outrun this monster, it's to fast!" the boy thought. The creature closed in on the child elated it finally caught its prize. The boy sealed his eye's as the monster exposed its large teeth. He waited for the agony of the bite but it never came. Instead, he felt a breeze of wind and a hand on his shoulder. He gazed at the hand tears in his eyes and smacked it away from his shoulder. He hurried to stand and looked at the person.
It was a middle-aged man with strawberry blond hair tucked under a strange winged hat. The man wore tan shorts and a navy blue Polo shirt. He also had on unusual sandals with wings that were flapping, as if they were trying to fly away. "W.. Who a.. are you," He asked the strange man. The person just smiled at him and gestured for the boy to come with him. The boy thought what his mother would say, she would probably yell at him not to go with the stranger, but his mother wasn't here to remind him about stranger danger and the boy grabbed the man's hand. The boy closed his eyes as a bright light engulfed both of them.
When the boy opened his eyes again he was no longer in Central Park with the strange man. He was in a room full of giants, each in different colored thrones. The man sat in a throne on the left side of the room with a smile on his face. The biggest thrones were the two in the middle. On the throne on the left sat a male with black hair and electric blue eyes that shone with power. The throne on the right held a beautiful woman with brown hair and brown eyes. The rest of the titans didn't seem as important as the two in the middle, but they still held a kind of power that made you feel inferior. The man with the black hair and blue eyes spoke first. "Who are you, child?" The man's voice boomed with authority and the boy answered very quietly, "Perseus 'Percy' Jackson, sir." The man smiled and nodded his head, "Perseus, I like that name, what is the story behind your alias my child." Percy was shocked at the compliment and told him the story, how his mom chose the name Perseus because he was the only greek hero to have a happy ending. The man bowed his head and responded, "yes, my son Perseus was a successful hero." Percy sat there, not believing what he was hearing. "Your s.. son?" he said. The man just smiled and replied, "Yes, Perseus was my son." The boy was startled and dropped to the ground. "So that means your Zeus," he pointed to the woman on the man's right "and your Lady Hera?" The woman smiled at being described as 'Lady Hera' and nodded her head. Percy looked at the rest of the Olympians and they laughed at his realization. Percy pondered this for a while and finally spoke up again "Why am I here," did he do something wrong "am I in trouble? I swear I didn't do anything!" The man that saved his life started laughing, "we know you didn't do anything, we need to recognize who's son you are before we can send you to camp." Percy was confused, camp? What camp? And he was pretty sure he was Sally Jackson's son. They seemed to be able to read his mind because a pretty woman with brown hair and stunning grey eyes spoke up and said, "Camp Half-Blood, where demigods, offspring of the gods go to train and learn to survive against monsters and beasts." Percy just nodded his head. As the gods seemed to be communicating with each other with there minds, a god with blond hair and blue eyes sighed and closed his eyes. A second later there was what looked like a floating hologram above Percy's head. The god Zeus shouted, "Hail Perseus Jackson, son Of Apollo god of archery, music and dance, truth and prophecy, healing and diseases, the Sun and light."
