I gouged out my eye today.

It was a quick operation and I did it in the bathroom. I got a spoon out of the kitchen and I simply popped it out. The pain was tolerable, although the process was a bit messy. I brought out its replacement, it was a small machine, around the same size as my original eye. I put it in the socket and pressed it inward. I designed it so that a needle within the replacement would shoot out, and form a junction in the location where my optic nerve used to be.
I grabbed a towel that was near the sink. I wiped the blood off of my face and gave the sink a quick swipe-over. A small loading screen clouded my vision as I made my way downstairs. My mom is not home today, she is hanging out with Aunt Mitsuki. I don't know why my mom is still friends with that woman, but that is beside the point.
I walked into the pantry. At the back, there is a first-aid kit that has an eye-patch. The loading screen faded away as a small UI was superimposed over my sight. It couldn't have come at a better time, it will help me find this kit easier.
I ran a quick x-ray scan. Its a simple enough program: it scans the room for an object which is topologically similar to the eye-patch. It then sends out a small EMP, which compares the density of the shapes scanned to cloth.
I find the kit on the second shelf at the bottom to my right. I was a transparent tupperware container with a red cross on its top. I pop it open, and sure enough, a black eye-patch is waiting there.
I put it on, it covered the prosthetic eye. it did its job well enough, although I am going to have to explain how I got it.

I heard a faint sound, akin to a firecracker or a blow-fuse, outside of my house. Then it hit me.

My new eye is not the first mod that I have done to myself. Although it is probably the most useful.

Three months ago, I fashioned an interesting little microchip and implanted it in between my c1 and c2 vertebrae. It wasn't an expensive mod, it cost me 1200 yen. I know a girl with a 3-D printer, so it just took a bit of silicon, copper, and plastic to get the job done. The chip has a direct interface with both my central and peripheral nervous system, with a micro-usb port embedded into my neck to allow it to be accessed. You will never know the kick that you'll get when you download a skill into your brain unless you try it yourself.

If we are talking mentally, I changed my thought patterns two years ago in order to be more akin to a computer. I got the idea from a book titled Thinking for Success. It said that one should keep their mind focused and organised, and what's more organised than a computer? It gave me some very neat perks, but the best thing is probably the photographic memory. It is very nifty.

I found a pair of cheap sunglasses lying around in my father's room. The bastard hasn't seen me in 9 years, but that is irrelevant. I pocket the eye-patch and put on the glasses. The world took on a dark tint.
I go outside, walk past a few houses until I see one that belongs to the Bakugo household. I got within around two feet of the place before a blonde torpedo came hurtling towards me.
"DEKU!" Katsuki said. Smoke was emanating from his hands as he cleared his fence. This kid's the man of the hour. He's around 5'7 in height, blonde hair, red eyes. He has a real athletic build, one built on years of fighting.
"Howsit, homeslice." I reply. Kid's looking livid as he starts to approach me. My prosthetic is having a field trip. Faint projects of mental holograms start appearing in my vision; a collection of shadow Katsuki's outline all of his potential actions. It seemed like he was going to grab me by my jacket, so I let him.
"Deku, what the fuck are you doing at my house? I told you not to come here!" The rage practically poured out of his mouth.
"We gonna fight now? Or are we just going to chat?" I said.

"What? Where did that come from? And no, you fucking moron, our moms would hear us."

I can't stand the sound of his voice, so I punch him in the throat. He lets go of me, his hands tense. "SHINE!" He yelled, aiming his hand at me.
I see it coming, I swiftly move out of his field of view. His explosion misses the majority of my body, except for a slight burn across my eye.
I dash behind him, knocking him unconscious. "Thanks for the cover, dipshit."

Man, downloading all those martial arts sure came in handy.

It was around 3:00 pm when my mother came home. She was wrought with the look of worry, she ran over to me.

"I heard you and Katsuki had a fight today? Are you alright?" she asked, her voice was trembling.

"Oh I'm good, I just got hit in the eye." I reply, pointing to the eye-patch.

That pretty much ended the conversation, so I headed back to my room. I left my pull up bar up so I decided to bang out some reps. I read in a book that maintaining a strong physical culture is indicative of one's self respect. So I started to workout.
Inside my room, I was greeted by a triple monitor set up. One of the monitors was tracking e-bay for cheap supplies, one was connected to a security camera that was at a school called UA, and the last monitor simply showed my desktop.

UA is very interesting, it is a Hero school that was founded around 70 years ago. All the best heroes graduated from UA, and I want to attend it. This is going to be a bit difficult, due to my quirkless status, but it shouldn't be too hard to get in. I have around 11 months to get ready for it. Besides, if all else fails, I already managed to hack into their cameras. How hard could their database be?
