Hinata walked out of her house and started heading to the market. However, she started turning around, when she heard a familiar-sounding voice. She saw one of her closest friends, Naruto Uzumaki, running towards her, while carrying flowers and chocolate and saying, "I love u!"

Hinata felt lots of shyness and excitement, from what was happening. She had been hiding a secret crush, on Naruto, for years. She could hardly believe the things, that Naruto was doing. As Naruto ran to her and stood in front of her, she wondered what she should do. She considered telling him her feelings or embracing him. She started blushing, at the mere thought, of telling Naruto she likes him. She shyly said, "Hi, Naruto. What's going on?"

Naruto smiled, while replying, "I think you'd know, since I already screamed the big announcement. I love u, more than anyone could ever imagine."

Since Naruto had brought up his love, two times, Hinata figured it would be the right thing, to admit her own feelings. She took a long pause, before looking at Naruto and saying, "I love you, too."

Naruto replied, "I'm glad you feel that way. U is my favorite letter, in the alphabet."

Hinata looked baffled, while asking, "What?"

Naruto said, "There's so many great words, that start with that letter. For example, united, universe, unicorn, underwater, and Unikitty."

Hinata felt disappointed and a little sad. She truly thought Naruto was running to her, to admit his feelings, rather than gush about a letter of the alphabet. She tried to change the subject, by asking, "Why are you carrying those flowers and chocolates? Are you planning on giving them, to a special someone?"

Naruto laughed and replied, "To be honest, I was pretty tempted, to eat the chocolate. However, I didn't get these tasty chocolates and pretty flowers, for myself. I'm planning on giving them, to a very important person. I'm going to give them, to my closest female friend. Well, I'm hoping to be more than friends, with this particular person. I'm assuming you know the person, who I'm referring to."

Hinata tried to hold onto the hopeful wish, that Naruto was referring to her. She spent a long moment, in silence, before asking, "Who are you talking about?"

Naruto answered, "It's obvious, that I'm talking about Sakura. There isn't a single person, who's more deserving, of these tasty chocolates and lovely flowers. I'll see you around, Hinata. I better get going. I want to get to Sakura, before Sasuke tries to charm her socks off. Sasuke might be my closest friend, but when it comes to winning Sakura's heart, Sasuke is a true rival." Naruto started running away, while Hinata stood around, while feeling very disappointed and gloomy.

Naruto started running to Sakura's house, but his plans started changing, when he saw Sakura Haruno and Sasuke Uchiha, who were having a picnic, by Sakura's house. Naruto could hardly believe, that Sakura would have a picnic, with Sasuke. He took a closer look and saw Sakura and Sasuke eating popcorn and holding hands. He also noticed, that Sakura had a bouquet of flowers and was wearing a necklace, which Sasuke had given her. Naruto was angry and jealous, so he started running towards them.

Sasuke looked up and saw Naruto. He started feeling uneasy, about Naruto coming by, because he feared, that Naruto was interested in Sakura. He started getting more nervous, when he noticed the flowers and chocolates, that Naruto was holding. There was a small part of him, that thought Naruto might of gotten those things, to impress Hinata. However, Sasuke thought that Sakura was the more likely candidate, for whom Naruto was interested in.

Sakura casually said, "Hi, Naruto. What's going on?"

Naruto replied, "Hi, Sakura and Sasuke. It's a great treat, to see you guys. Sakura, I was going to pay you a visit, at your house. However, I quickly noticed, that you weren't there. Why are you having a picnic, outside?"

Sakura responded, "It's pretty common, for picnics to be an outdoors event."

Naruto grabbed the flowers, that Sasuke gave to Sakura, and threw them into quicksand. Sasuke angrily stared at Naruto, while asking, "What's wrong with you? Why would you do that?!"

Naruto replied, "Those flowers aren't worthy, of Sakura's affections." He gave Sakura some flowers, that he had purchased.

Sasuke said, "It was rude of you, to get rid of the flowers, that I gave to Sakura."

Naruto replied, "Sakura is an eloquent lady, who deserves the nicest of things."

Sasuke folded his arms and responded, "Get out of here. This picnic was a pleasant, sweet event and if you stay here and act like a child, you'll ruin everything."

Sakura had become used, to her friends acting like petty rivals. However, she was confused, about why Naruto and Sasuke's relationship had changed. Naruto and Sasuke used to seem like the best of friends, who had a few fights, but at the end of the day, always cared about each other. However, in recent months, the two friends were acting bitter and immature. It was because they both liked Sakura and they both had an interest, in dating her. Sakura tried to be the peacekeeper, by saying, "Guys, let's calm down and have a nice time. The three of us can have a picnic, together."

Sasuke replied, "I don't think that'd be such a great idea, Sakura. This picnic wouldn't feel right, unless it's just the two of us."

Sakura responded, "Naruto is one of our closest friends. It'd feel weird, to not have him join us."

Sasuke angrily growled, before reluctantly saying, "Okay then."

Naruto eyed the necklace, that Sasuke had given to Sakura. He said, "Wow, that's a very nice necklace. It looks like it's well-made and stuff like that. Can I hold it, for a few minutes?"

Sasuke felt scared, about Naruto borrowing the necklace. He feared Naruto would purposely lose or break the necklace, so he said, "Sakura, I don't think Naruto should hold the necklace."

Sakura said, "I don't it'd be much of a problem, if he held the necklace, for five minutes." Sakura took off the necklace and handed it to Naruto.

Naruto fiddled with the necklace, while saying, "I need to go to the restroom." Naruto started running, while Sasuke felt afraid, about what Naruto was planning.

A few minutes later, Naruto returned to Sakura and Sasuke, while saying, "While I was in the restroom, I accidentally dropped the necklace, into the toilet, and flushed it."

Sasuke looked furious, while replying, "That's an obvious lie, you troublemaking jerk. You purposely ruined the gifts, that I got for Sakura, to sabotage my chances, of winning her heart."

Sakura said, "If that's the case, Naruto's not very smart." Sasuke nodded.

Naruto asked, "Why do you think I wouldn't be smart, if I did that?"

Sakura explained, "Naruto, if you broke the gifts Sasuke got me, on purpose, it would make Sasuke look sympathetic and it would make you look like a desperate jerk."

Naruto said, "Well, the fate, of Sasuke's flowers and necklace, was an accident. I had no intention, of ruining that stuff."

Sasuke replied, "You're being a petty liar, Naruto."

Sakura had gotten tired, of seeing her friends fight. She looked at them and said, "You guys need to talk about your personal issues and come to an agreement, so you can start being best friends, once again."

Sasuke replied, "Fair enough. Naruto and I will go on a walk, so we can talk things out."

Naruto and Sasuke walked to a nearby forest. After they were so far away, that Sakura could no longer see them, Sasuke grabbed Naruto and said, "Stop ruining my love life, Naruto."

Naruto asked, "You actually think you and Sakura are dating?"

Sasuke said, "For your information, we were having a picnic date. We were flirting, holding hands, and having a lovely time. Look, you're one of my best friends, you really are. However, when you purposely try to separate me, from the love of my life, I start losing respect for you."

Naruto grabbed a glue bottle, out of his pocket, and started spraying glue on the ground. Afterwards, he grabbed Sasuke and tried to push him, so he would fall on the glue. Sasuke asked, "What are you doing?"

Naruto explained, "I'm going to make you get glued to the ground. That way, you'll be stuck, in the forest, while I win Sakura's heart."

Sasuke replied, "That's not going to happen." Sasuke punched Naruto, who fell to the ground. He grabbed some rope and used it, to trap Naruto.

Naruto tried to escape the rope, but he didn't have the strength, to escape the ropes. He looked at Sasuke and asked, "Why did you do this?"

Sasuke replied, "To keep you, from ruining Sakura and I's date. If you agree to stop interfering, I'll let you go. If not, you're going to be trapped, for the rest of the day."

Hinata was in the same forest, but she felt she needed a place, to cool off and forget about her embarrassment and sadness. She sat down, while saying, "Naruto's such a charming and fun boy, but he doesn't care about you. His heart belongs to Sakura. Since they're both friends of mine, I shouldn't be jealous or upset."

Hinata got up and started walking around, to try to focus on something less dramatic. However, she turned around and saw Naruto, who was trapped in ropes. She nervously asked, "What's going on?"

Naruto said, "Hi, Hinata. Sasuke trapped me."

Hinata looked at Sasuke and sternly said, "You better free him."

Sasuke replied, "That's not going to happen, until he stop getting in the way, of Sakura and I's relationship."

Hinata said, "Look, I know how it feels, when the person you love has an interest, in someone else."

Sasuke replied, "For the record, Sakura doesn't have any romantic feelings, towards Naruto. At least, I hope she doesn't."

Hinata responded, "Regardless, it isn't right, to trap Naruto. If you're a true friend, you wouldn't do this to him."

Sasuke thought about it and sighed, before saying, "You make a reasonable argument, Hinata. As much as I love Sakura, I can't trap Naruto, any longer." He took off the ropes and said, "I'm sorry, Naruto. I wasn't being much of a friend. However, you were also being a pretty questionable friend, when you destroyed the flowers and necklace, that I gave to Sakura."

Naruto replied, "You're right. I wanted to impress Sakura, so badly, that I let you down. I'm sorry, old friend."

Sasuke responded, "I want us to go back, to being best friends."

Naruto replied, "Sounds good." Naruto and Sasuke hugged each other.

Sasuke said, "How are we going to settle our feelings, for Sakura?"

Naruto replied, "There's a chance, that she might have a crush on me. I need to ask her. If she doesn't, I'll stop getting in your way."

Sasuke responded, "Okay."

Naruto returned to the picnic area, where Sakura was. Naruto and Sasuke had been gone, for a long amount of time, so she had been confused, about what was going on. Naruto looked at her and said, "There's an important question, that I need to ask you."

Sakura replied, "Okay."

Naruto asked, "Do you have a crush on me?"

Sakura said, "I'm truly sorry, Naruto, but I don't have romantic feelings, for you. You're one of my closest friends and an important part of my life, but I'm afraid you're not the type of person, that I'd want to date. If I were to date anybody, it'd be Sasuke. In fact, we're becoming close, to being a couple."

Sasuke walked by and replied, "I'm glad to hear that."

Sakura blushed and asked, "You were listening?"

Sasuke answered, "I'm afraid so. I'm sorry, if I was being nosy."

Sakura said, "It's okay."

Naruto said, "I'll get going, so you guys can continue your date."

Sasuke looked a little nervous, while asking, "Is this a date?"

Sakura confidently answered, "It sure is."

Sasuke grinned and replied, "Sounds wonderful." Naruto walked away, while Sasuke and Sakura held hands and stared into each other's eyes.

Naruto returned to the forest and found Hinata. He sat down and tried to get over his somewhat sad feelings, about not winning Sakura's heart. He looked at Hinata and said, "Sasuke and I are going to be close buddies, from now on, which is good. However, things didn't work, between Sakura and me. We'll continue being friends, but we're not going to become a couple. She doesn't have a crush on me."

Hinata replied, "I know what it's like, when the person, that you have a crush on, just wants to be friends. It can be a bit heartbreaking, but friendship's a beautiful thing, so everything will be fine."

Naruto looked intrigued, while asking, "You have a crush, on a certain someone? Who are you in love with?"

Hinata sounded embarrassed, while replying, "I'd rather not reveal that."

Naruto nudged Hinata and said, "Give me the dirt, on your feelings."

Hinata took a long pause, while pondering, if she should tell Naruto her true feelings. Eventually, she said, "Naruto, you're the one, that I have a crush on."

Naruto asked, "Really?"

Hinata said, "This morning, when you said the words "I love u", I thought you were saying you love me, not the letter."

Naruto thought about it and replied, "I'm really sorry, Hinata. I had no intention, of breaking your heart."

Hinata responded, "It's okay. You can be immature and make some weird decisions, from time to time, but I still think you're a wonderful person."

Naruto replied, "You're a better person, than I've ever been."

Hinata blushed and responded, "Thank you. That's a very sweet thing, for you to say."

Naruto said, "Hinata, do you want to have a picnic?"

Hinata grinned and answered, "Sure."
