I don't own any of these characters, they were crated by Rebecca sugar, a Great Person!
Today, Steven felt a bit off. It was a Monday morning in Beach City, and for the past 5 days, it has been bitterly cold. He would go outside often because he thought he couldn't be sick, 'cause he was a gem "after all". But today was different. He woke up, and he felt very weird. "Stee man!" Amethyst called. "Are you ok?" hesitating, Steven answered her, "Yes, I'm-" but his sentence was blocked off when he sneezed. When Pearl came in, she had heard the sneeze far away. "Are you sick? I told you NOT to go in that cold weather without a coat!" Pearl exclaimed with Steven coughing in the background. Pearl grabbed the thermometer and put it in Steven's mouth. "I hope he's not sick. He has to come with us to the mission! You know how ThunderClan cats get." Pearl said sadly. When the thermometer beeped, Pearl came to get it out of Steven's mouth. "110?! That's unnatural!"
The Pearl said with surprise and fear as Steven sneezed again. "Bless you," Garnet said calmly as she walked in. "Garnet, Steven has a 110 fever. He can't come to the mission. The ThunderClan and the ShadowClan cats won't be happy." Pearl said unhappily to the reminder that the hybrid is severely sick. "I'll be fine, you can go without me. I'm sure they have a problem to solve but you can do it as well as I can." Steven choked on the last words before breaking into another spasm of coughing. Steven was shaking a little, but the gems understood what he was saying. "Ok Stee-man, well see you later!" Amethyst said as they were on the warp. (warp turns on, then off.) "But, I hate being alone…" Steven said as he sneezed, and dozed into sleep.

"I'm calling Connie so Steven won't be alone," Pearl said to Garnet as they walked through the Thunder Trail. "Good idea" Garnet replied in approval for Steven's sake. "He hates being alone," Garnet said as she shifted her visors.
RING…RING...RING. "Connie, the phone's ringing." Mrs. Maheswaran insisted that it was Connie's time to answer the phone. "Got it," Connie answered. She was doing her college studies in her room. "Hello?" she inquired. "It's me, Pearl," Pearl said to Connie. Pearl was worried about the Hybrid, Steven Universe. "Can you take care of Steven?" Pearl said, anxiously. "What's the problem?" Connie said with curiosity. "Steven's very sick, and I don't want him to be alone. I could be taking care of him, but were on a mission." Pearl said, slightly upset about Steven. "Oh my… poor Steven. I'll stay with him while you and the gems are gone. Bye!" Connie replied shortly after what Pearl said. "Bye." the worried gem said. "Hey, mom. I'll be at Steven's house, he has a fever and he can't be alone." Connie said to her mother, Mrs. Maheswaran. "Ok. But pack some Borage Leaves, just in case it gets worse." Mrs. Maheswaran said briskly. "I will," Connie said calmly. Connie rushed over to the beach house, where Steven was.

"Steven?!" Connie called in advance and tried to see where Steven was. "Huh? Wuh? What?" Steven said, startled. Before Connie called his name, he was napping, in bed. "Oh, it's just you," Steven said, relieved that someone was with him. Steven was still drowsy, but he sat up in his bed, baffled. "And why a-are you here?" Steven tried not to stammer, but it was so hard to because he was shivering. "Pearl told me you had a fever, so she told me to keep you company," Connie said, surprised when Steven coughed severely. "W-Well, at least I-I'm not a-alone," Steven said as Connie was relieved. Steven had carefully come downstairs, but that didn't stop his nauseousness. "I-I feel sicker than w-when I was in my bed," Steven said, more drowsy than ever. He was going to complete his sentence, but ran to his bathroom, and vomited instead. "Steven, are you ok?!" Connie was frightened of Steven's health. Steven vomited for 10 minutes straight, and Connie was worried. 'Are you alright?" Connie said as Steven was coming out of the bathroom. "First, I'm coughing and sneezing. Then, I'm vomiting in the bathroom? This doesn't make any sense…" Steven looked at Connie. "What are you doing?" he inquired. He was very confused at this point. "I'm trying to get some medicine from my bag…" Connie said as she found the medicine in her bag. In her bag were some Borage Leaves, Tansy, Chervil, Dandelion, Burnet, and Chamomile (those are herbs. I will show you what some herbs do at the end of the story). She also had other things that weren't precisely close to the problem. It was a medicine bag. "I think I have something that will help you with this." Connie had said as she took the medicine out of her bag, and grabbed a 10-milliliter cup, and gave it to Steven. "What's this?" he said curiously. He was wondering what was in it, but he shrugged and drank it anyway. "Blech! This tastes disgusting!" Steven stuck his tongue out and looked at the cup. He gave it back to Connie, but she wouldn't take it. "You're supposed to drink it all, Steven," she said as she pushed it back to him. "Do I have to?" he said, slightly mad that Connie is making him drink something that tastes disgusting. "Yes, you have to." Connie insisted. "It will make you feel better." the human said, trying to get him to drink the medicine. "Fine. But I hope I never get any more of this." Steven finally answered, but looked annoyed at the medicine, and drank it. He gagged a little when he was done drinking the medicine, but he moved on, laying on the couch. He looked left, then right. The room had a peppermint scent to it. "Can I-I get a-a blanket?" He was cold, but his temperature was high. "Sure." Connie had said before going to Steven's couch. Then, Connie had given Steven the blanket. "Thank you, Connie," Steven said, well pleased. "I'm giving you aromatherapy, by the way," Connie said as she sat down. "That's why I sensed peppermint!" he said, guessing what it was. "I knew that peppermint soothes nausea, so I grabbed peppermint," she said as she was with the sick hybrid. The peppermint aromatherapy was working on Steven, as Connie was rubbing his shoulder, relaxingly, Steven dozed off, snoring lightly.
4-5 hours later…

"Were back!" Pearl said, contented. "Shh… Steven's sleeping." Connie said in a whisper. "Adorable," Garnet said. "Yes he is," Pearl whispered, because the hybrid was sleeping. "Well, since your back, I'm going back to my house." Connie said, pleased with how Steven was doing. He was doing pretty well. "Wait," Pearl said, halting Connie from leaving. "How was Steven?" Pearl inquired, asking Connie how Steven went on with his sickness without her and Garnet. "He coughed some, then he was very nauseous, and vomited, so I got peppermint aromatherapy, and he slept a little bit faster than I thought." Connie reported. She was taking care of Steven. "Well, I hope his sickness doesn't get any worse, but I have to go, Bye!" Connie said her farewell as she went out the door. "I'm going to put these herbs somewhere." Pearl said as she looked at the bottled herbs. "I'll watch Steven." Garnet said, monotone as always. But the clattering of the bottles nerved Steven into a lighter sleep. "You're waking him up." Garnet said, still monotone. "He's fine. He's a deep sleeper." Pearl said, trying to get the bottles to fit. Crash! The bottle from the middle broke onto the floor. "GAH!" Steven yelled in alert.
"Oops…" Pearl said, mistakenly. Steven was startled, but he was delusional. "Now you woke him up." Garnet said, but she was still monotone. "Sorry! I didn't know that would happen!" Pearl said, in a salty comeback. "W-what's going on? A-and why is there a bird in the house?" Steven inquired to Garnet. He thought Pearl was a bird. But the gems didn't get it. The gems shot a worried glance at each other. "What's wrong with Steven?" Amethyst broke the silence. "Well, he still doesn't look well, and Pearl woke him up." Garnet said, accusing Pearl by startling Steven in his sleep. "Fine. But I still think it was this stupid glass." Pearl said, defensively. "Wait, birds can talk?" Steven had pointed at Pearl. "Steven, I'm not a bird," Pearl said, confused at what Steven was saying. "How do you know my name?" he had a glossy feverish glance at Pearl "and I would know the difference." Steven exchanged a look at Garnet. Steven looked as if he was delusional, and which he was… "Why do you all keep looking at me like that?" the hybrid asked as he looked at the floor. "Is Steven ok?" Amethyst said as she looked almost as worried as Pearl. Steven tried to stand, but the nauseousness took over him, and he ran to the bathroom to vomit. "Steven's worse than I expected," Pearl said with a cautious gaze. She was worried about the weak hybrid.
As Steven walked to the couch, he was coughing more than he was at the beginning of this ailing. "Steven, are you ok?" Amethyst says as a small part of Steven's hair turns to a clean white. Steven's coughing didn't stop when he laid down. He was coughing so severely that he couldn't talk. Steven groaned in suffering as his throat was seriously damaged by the coughing, and he tried to speak. "I-I'm not s-sure, I f-feel lightheaded, and I'm sh-shaking a lot more than usua-'' Steven had tried to talk, but he choked on the last few words, and had burst into another spasm of coughing, more worse that the last time. The gems exchanged terrified looks at each other. Steven coughed, each one worse than the last. Pearl looked to Steven, then she looked to Garnet. "We need to get to ThunderClan, now." Pearl finally spoke, having a little hope for Steven. "I have a plan," She said as Steven looked at the gems miserably. Pearl had described how the ThunderClan cats had medicine cats, and that they could probably fix Stevens ailing by their herbs, or something. "Well I hope Steven does get help, because look at his hair!" Amethyst explains to the gems, which gives Steven a slight pause of silence, as he looked at Amethyst, and then Pearl. "Amethyst! You're scaring him!" Pearl scolded as Garnet looked at her. "Pearl's right, but it is true." Garnet was still monotone, even though she was upset about Steven being extremely sick. As Garnet pointed at the boy, Pearl didn't see it at first. But when she saw it, she gasped in horror of how Steven's hair turned from a dark brown, to a clean white. "By the way you guys are looking at me, I'm not ok a-" then Steven coughed more after trying to finish the sentence. Steven was too sick to move at all. "If we can heal Steven from his ailing, then he can recover. But we need to get going, If he can last that long." Pearl's voice broke as she said the last part. Steven's breathing was slow, and he groaned from the pain in his neck, like he was getting stabbed, and he was useless. "I'll carry Steven." Garnet said, still monotone of the situation.
Place: ThunderPath Characters: Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, and Steven
"What are we doing here?" Steven asked, trying to get one of the gems' attention. "We are taking you to ThunderClan, so they can treat you with medical care," Pearl said, trying to calm him. "Ok then," Steven said in reply, trying to get comfortable in Garnet's arms. Steven was coughing severely when they eventually got to ThunderClan. "BrambleStar, BerryNose, and SquirrelFlight, I need you to meet someone." Pearl said as Steven was still coughing. "Who is it, Pearl?" BrambleStar said something first. He had come out of his den to see who she had let into the place. "A Twoleg!" BerryNose hissed. "Hey!" Steven said in a hoarse voice, looking extremely offended, then kept coughing. "Don't worry. This is Steven Universe." Pearl tried to calm BerryNose, but when Pearl said Steven Universe, she seemed surprised to hear the hybrid's name. "The Legend? Oh my, I'm sorry I called you a Twoleg, StevenUniverse." BerryNose said, with an apologetic glance. "It's okay-" Steven broke off the sentence with a bunch of coughing. More of his hair was turning to a clean white. AlderHeart came out of the medicine cats den, to see what was going on. "I heard coughing. What's going on?" AlderHeart said as he came out of the den. "Steven? What happened?" AlderHeart knew his name, because they spent time with each other about 9 ½ moons ago. AlderHeart was still a Paw' back then. "AlderPaw? Is that you?" Steven looked like he was exhausted by the coughing, but still said something. "It's AlderHeart now, by the way. But that doesn't matter. Tell me what happened! You don't look so great." AlderHeart showed his concern for Steven. "I was taking care of the sick, and I went outside without a coat, so I got sick. I guess." Steven said hoarsely. "Well, since you're too big to go in the medicine den, we can put you beside it." AlderHeart said, trying to be calm. Steven was laid down by the medicine cats den, his coughing turning into blood. "How long has he been coughing?" AlderHeart turned to the gems, his front paw softly on Steven's throat. "He's been coughing since this morning." Pearl had a worried expression on her face. "P, don't be so worried, he's gonna be fiiiine…" Amethyst said cooly, being nonchalant as usual. "Now, now, what's all this ruckus about?" Jayfeather huffed at AlderHeart. He was still testy and all. "Well, well well. It's Jayfeather, grumpy as-" Steven choked, and then started coughing blood again. "Steven, you should save your voice. After all, Jayfeather is always grumpy." AlderHeart said, and let out a mrr of laughter as Steven giggled a little. But after that, Steven couldn't stop coughing. "I'll go get some thyme and catmint. That could probably help your coughing. (Also the Whitecough that they are seeing). And Steven, don't move." AlderHeart said as he went to the medicine cats den. "I'm not sure I feel pretty great." Steven paused his sentence and coughed blood again. "I'm seeing if AlderHeart picked the right herbs again." Jayfeather said as he went into the medicine cats den. Now Steven was alone, because the gems were talking to BrambleStar. He laid his head down, then everything went black. He could hear voices, but he wouldn't understand what they were saying.
"Steven?"
"Steven, wake up!"
"WAKE UP!"
"Wh-what?" a jolt woke Steven up. He had blood drooling on his face, and he looked very tired. He wiped his face, and he still had a seriously sore throat. At an instant, he kept coughing. "Steven, you need to stay awake," AlderHeart told Steven. "I-I'm sorry, was I doing something w-wrong-GAH!" Steven interrupted his own sentence with a whimper of pain. Then Steven coughed sorely with severe amounts of blood on his sleeve. "I need you to eat these herbs, so you can feel better." AlderHeart said to Steven. AlderHeart gave Steven the herbs, and Steven ate them. He shuddered as he swallowed the herbs. "Why does everything taste weird to me?" Steven said to himself. "We'll let you rest, Steven." AlderHeart told Steven and left. After a few minutes, Steven finally went to sleep. Suddenly, he felt a paw on his nose, and mouth, pushing extremely hard. "MMPH! MMPH!" Steven's cries were muffled so the gems, nor the clan cats could hear him. The only one looking was Twigpaw, an apprentice of Ivypool. "Darktail, no!" Twigpaw whispered. She was trying to not be noticed by him. Yes, Darktail was trying to kill Steven, because he thought that killing the legend would make him the best cat in all clans, kittypets, and kin. "Mmph!" Steven continued his muffled wail, but did nothing. Darktail loved to see everybody suffer from him, especially Steven Quartz CutiePie Dameyo Diamond Universe, the legend of, well, the Universe! Steven struggled extremely hard, but his weakness was how sick he was. Steven surrendered to his death, and blood was streaming down his nose and mouth. Steven stopped breathing. "NO!" Twigpaw squealed as she rammed Darktail away from Steven. "Please be ok, please be ok!" Twigpaw was worried about Steven, but Darktail rammed her away from Steven, and clawed Steven's chest, and arms. Tears were shown on Steven's face that he was crying. On his chest was the biggest wound you could never unsee, while Steven's jacket was ripped up with blood soaked into it. Like I said, Darktail likes to see cats and others suffer from his being. "STOP! Don't Hurt Him!" Twigpaw wailed as she barreled into Darktail, which made him fall over. "Darktail?! I thought we got rid of you!" Bramblestar growled. "Pearl, get Steven." Garnet said to Pearl, Pearl nodding in response. "Oh, my Stars, Steven!" Pearl looked at Steven. "He's Not Breathing!" Pearl choked on tears. "Don't worry, he's still alive." Twigpaw said to the gems. "Thank goodness!" Pearl said to Twigpaw. Then Pearl stroked Twigpaw's fur. "Yo, where is SkyClan?" Amethyst asked Twigpaw, since she had all the answers. "I'll show you!" Twigpaw was delighted to show them where SkyClan was. Before they went, Pearl scooped up Steven in her arms, and started following the others. Steven moaned in pain, and coughed blood, but didn't wake up.
This is A Picture of Twigpaw, BTW. She's So Cute!
"Steven?" Pearl inquired. Steven didn't reply, which raised her concern. They finally got to SkyClan, and Twigpaw rushed to Hawkwing's den to make sure he met the gems, also Steven. "Father, I would like you to meet Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, and Steven." Twigpaw told her father nicely. "It's very nice to see you all." Hawkwing responded in a friendly tone. Leafstar came out when she saw Hawkwing greeting the gems. "You can put the injured twoleg down." Leafstar implied. "Call him Steven. He gets offended when you say that about him." Twigpaw told Leafstar. "We'll put him down," Garnet said, monotone. She wasn't worried about Steven, because her future vision tells her that it will be fine. Pearl laid Steven down carefully, and Steven groaned and coughed again, trying to wake up. "W-wha-W-who are you?" Steven questioned, with his hand holding his throat because his voice was hoarse, and his throat was severely irritated. "I am Leafstar, and this is Hawkwing." Leafstar answered. "T-twigkit?" Steven inquired, his voice still hoarse. "It's Twigpaw now," Twigpaw said to Steven. "I missed out on a lot of things, didn't I?" Steven looked at Twigpaw. "Yeah, I'm sorry you and Alderheart got out of touch…" Twigpaw said to Steven. "It's okay-" *Cough! Cough!* Steven didn't look very well, and he needed rest. Pearl stroked Steven's hair, and softly calmed him. "I know you want to know what they've been doing, but you need rest, Steven." Pearl said, her words soothing him. "I'll get chamomile and lavender, so he can rest well." Hawkwing said to the gems. Hawkwing came back in a few minutes later, with a bundle of chamomile and lavender in his mouth. Like Alderheart did, Hawkwing gave the herbs to Steven, and Steven started to eat them, shuddering after swallowing them. Then, Steven laid down, trying to sleep, and successfully, he slept. Having 2 hours of sleep, Steven woke up, and saw Alderheart hovering over him. Alderheart made the wound on Steven's chest feel better, and the white streaks in his hair were gone. Steven still had a fever, 107 degrees, which was better than 110 degrees, but still bad. The gems heard a yawn, which was Steven, waking up. "Hey dude! You sleep well?" Amethyst said looking at the fevered hybrid. Steven nods, and petted Alderheart's fur. "If it wasn't for you, Alderheart, I would still be very sick, well, I still am, but you lowered down the fever." Steven told Alderheart. Steven was always sincere to Alderheart, since Steven was a friend of his for so long. "Oh, it was nothing," Alderheart purred. "Well, we better get home now." Pearl told Steven. "I can't-" *Aa-ah-Achoo!* "Can't get up" Steven sniffled. Steven held his arms up, blushing in embarrassment. Pearl lifted him up, carrying Steven back to the warp. "Bye!" Steven called to Alderheart. "Farewell!" Alderheart responded. (warp turns on, then off)
Back at the beach house, they laid Steven down, and nursed him back to health. It took a few days to recover from his fever (about 6 days). He was finally announced healthy when they read that the thermometer was 98.6 degrees. He went back to his planning and scheduled a mission with lapis tomorrow.
The End
This took me soooo long, OMG.
