"Take that AWFUL deformed child of yours as a testament to why you'll die alone you whore."

A young child by the name of Amber heard those words, followed by the front door slamming; from their supposed father; as they hid under the covers.

Mother screamed as Sister tried to calm her down.

"ALL IT'S FAULT!!!"

After that it was just the pair of siblings on their own. It was like the older sister: Blaire, was a teen mother. At 17 getting a scholarship at Medical school after supporting Amber off of her paycheck from being a waitress at an Italian restaurant that let her bring them along. When Amber was at the age of 7-13, they had to live alternating between the Midoriya family and Bakugo's family.

"Why are you leaving to hang out with some nerd?! I'm obviously better then him! What, do you like that worthless, quirkless, reject?!"

A ten year old Bakugo Katsuki yelled, sparks igniting from his hands. Amber had their back turned to him, big mistake.

"LISTEN TO ME, STUPID!"

Bakugo yelled grabbing her wrist. His quirk burning the skin. Amber harshly bit her lip.

"I can't scream, I can't scream, I can't scream, I can't scream."

Amber repeated in their head, blood running down their chin from their teeth piercing their lip. Trembling from the pain they took their free hand and hit the door with all their might.

"What are you doing? Pitiful LOSER!!"

The door opened. Revealing his mother: Mitsuki.

"Katsuki what are you doing?! Leave her alone!!"

Mitsuki reprimanded her son, pulling Amber away from him, then safely escorting them and all their things back to Inko's house. That was the last time they visited Katsuki, and initiated a burning feeling of anger and jealousy in his heart.

The next few years Amber lived with Izuku, the two became very close friends, Amber always believed because of being mute, and quirkless. They could never be a hero, but Izuku was quirkless too, and he was still determined to be like All Might.

"Who's your favorite hero Amber?"

Izuku asked them excitedly. They smiled and in sign language signed to him:

"You know the hero we listen to on the radio? Present Mic. If only I could talk, maybe I could be like him some day."

Tears threatened to shed at the brim of their eyes. Izuku offered them a sad smile:

"I bet you'll be a great hero; just like him some day, Amber!"

"You too, you have the heart of All Might."

They signed in return, before the two of them hugged. It was their last year before high school that things were worse then they had ever been.

Amber had written their announcement on the chalkboard:

"I'd like to announce to the class that I'm coming out as non binary. As an intersex person I have grown comfortable with my body, and I would like to go by they/them pronouns instead of she/her."

Amber was excited but Bakugo was furious. The relentless, merciless bullying from that year had left Amber in shackles, cuts adorning their lower arms, stomach, and thighs. Their sister had come home, and the two of them were working as waitresses at the same Italian Restaurant Blaire used to work at as she was looking for medical jobs with her newfound masters degree with a major in medicine and minor in psychology. Amber had mostly isolated themself, and their best friend Izuku, had taken notice. It only made him strive harder, as a hero, the first person he'd save would be them.

"Izuku, you wanted to go to U.A too right?"

Everyone in the class laughed, except for Bakugo, and Amber. Bakugo was visibly aggravated, but Amber, they believed in their dear friend.

"You and your little freak of a girlfriend, are below the rejects. You're quirkless!! Heroes have to be cool, how do you expect to do that when you're hanging out with a mute freak who think's she's genderless because she just so happened to be born with balls and an XY chromosome? She's both deformed and demented! And you're a weak idiot. You're lucky she picked you over me. I'm so much better then you."

Bakugo yelled at him, before suddenly a fist came rushing at him, it was Amber's. He took their wrist and twisted their arm behind their back before pinning them down to the floor, straddling their waist.

"You know if you weren't such a freak this would be an arousing position."

Bakugo laughed.

"LET THEM GO!!"

Izuku yelled, tears brimming his eyes.

"Or what pipsqueak? What are you gonna do? Nothing right? Because you're not a hero. You're not cool enough to save her."—

Amber had weaseled out of his grip when he was talking and kicked him in the crotch with all their might. Tears running down their cheeks as they ran out of the classroom, down the halls, up all the stairs.

"AMBER-KUN!"

Izuku ran after them. Finding them on the roof ledge, just by their tippy toes.

"You're right, Kacchan."

They whispered to themself as they fell of the ledge, suddenly something stopped them. They were back on the roof. They looked at their hands.

"I'm still alive... why am I still alive..."

They whispered.

"A-A-Amber y-you're talking— l-l-look!"

Izuku was physically shaking as he and Amber looked up to see All Might.

"It's fine now. Why? I am here."

All Might recited his famous line.

"Thanks for saving me All Might... but I have to go home, my sister's probably worried sick."

They left the shaking, muttering Izuku with a thousand things going through his mind alone with All Might. Walking alone back to their sister's apartment, there was a crowd, that looked to be panicked in some kind of commotion. The small preteen pushed through the civilians only to be terrified by the sight. Bakugo was being overtaken by some disgusting looking sludge villain. Sure Bakugo's been nothing but a burden their whole life but, they just... had to...

Down from Amber's stomach, up to their throat, erupted the ear curdling scream. Everyone around covered their ears in agony and backed away, the sludge monster in visible agony, it exploded.

The heroes whom all were unable to defeat the villain were now containing it, though most reprimanded Amber's careless behavior, there was one hero at the scene who took a more positive interest.

"Can't control your quirk huh? It's a pretty nice one, are you applying to U.A.?"

"P-P-P-P-Present Mic-Sama! M-m-m-me?! I couldn't... I mean... do you think I could?..."

Amber stuttered lowly, scared of activating their quirk again.

"Ohhhh yeahhhhh!!!"

The vocal hero exclaimed giving them a thumbs up, before continuing:

"I can get ya in through recommendations! Whaddya say kid?"

Amber was absolutely speechless, this was their chance, to help people, to make up for their existence.

"I'll do it, senpai! I won't let you down!"

Amber smiled brightly beginning to feel pumped.

"No one told you, huh, young one?"

Amber entered the hospital room that Bakugo was in, wanting to see how he was feeling.

"What are you doing here, nerd? What was that back there? Have you been lying to me all this time? Making a fool out of me? You're not quirkless at all are you?! With a quirk like that, maybe you could be my girlfriend if you wouldn't act like such a freak."

"Shut up."

"What did you say to me?..."

He glared at them as they stepped up to his bedside.

"I said: shut up. Present Mic is getting me in through recommendations after seeing me save you. Me and Deku aren't useless. We can do this. We can be way better heroes then you, and you'll have to watch us surpass you!"—

Bakugo had pulled them by the collar of their shirt and slammed his lips onto theirs. Roughly biting their lip and forcing his tongue into their mouth as his hand reached up under their shirt, undoing their binder. Amber harshly bit his tongue backing up.

"I'm better then you, Bakugo Katsuki."

They wiped their lips off, closing the door behind them.

"Blaire, I'm home. I have something important to tell you, I met Present Mic today, and he's going to get me into U.A through recommendations! Isn't that amazing?!"

"It really is actually, that works out perfectly since I was just accepted as Recovery Girl's assistant! So we'll be together!"
