*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP*
These noises slowly woke Lincoln as he regained his conciseness. When his eyes started to open, he could hear people rushing to him. Soon after he could hear what the voices were saying as his eyesight went back to normal.
"Kid how many fingers am I holding up?" Said a man holding up 4 fingers, Lincoln recognized the man as a doctor. 'Wait was he in a hospital, what happened?' He thought. When he tried to think about it, he only got a headache. Then he started listening to the doctor.
"4 fingers, what am I doing here, what happened?" Asked Lincoln confused.
"There was a storm last night. And lightning hit both you and your friends." Explained the doctor. Lincoln was now panicking thinking about if his friends were fine.
"Are they okay?" The man smiled at Lincoln and said.
"Don't worry they were also hit but they awoke before you. Do you want to see them while I go and notify your family?" Lincoln nodded before slowly getting off the bed and following the doctor. They soon entered a room where all his friends were.
"Look who finally awoke!" Said the doctor gladly. And as soon he entered, he was hugged by someone.
"Lincoln your finally awake we were starting to get worried!" Said Clyde. Soon, Rusty, Liam, and Zach approached him.
"Glad your finally awake dude." Said Rusty.
"Yeah agree." Followed up Zach.
"Me too." Said Liam.
"What even happened. I remember going to Gus's with you and suddenly everything went blank. Did we get hit by lightning?" Asked Lincoln still confused over this whole situation. Clyde began to explain.
"Yes, we did go to Gus's but then it got dark and started to rain. We complained and the next thing we know is that lightning hit us."
"You should see the news's they said that the lightning was red. Have you ever seen red lighting before?" Asked Zach and everyone was surprised and shook their heads.
"How long were we out?" Asked Lincoln.
"About one night. Clyde woke up first then Liam then Rusty and then me and lastly you." Said Zach. Just then the door to their room bursts open and a large group of people enter and surround Lincoln.
"Omg Lincoln we literally broke the law to get to you so fast. How are you, are you hurt?" Said Lori while freaking out like his other sisters surrounding him.
"Lincy's fine yay!" Said Leni
"Missed you, bro. I wrote you a song that we could listen to later." Said Luna
"Great to see you can recover as fast as 'light'-ning." Said Luan while flashing a flashlight in his face until it was taken by Lori who gave her a stern look. But to his surprise, the flashlight didn't even blind him or make him blink. He pushed aside those thoughts as his other sisters began to talk.
"Don't think that we'll skip wrestling Wednesday because of this Stincoln." Said Lynn.
"I made you a poem brother if you want to read it later." Said Lucy in her same monotone voice.
"We made you a drawing Lincoln!" Said the twins smiling. The first one was by Lola who drew Lincoln fighting of evil knights and Lana's drawing showed Lincoln fighting against an alligator.
"I did a scan to make sure that the lightning didn't affect your nerve system. No need to thank me older sibling." Said Lisa while reading some science papers that he couldn't understand.
"Po-po." Said Lily with a smile.
His parents soon walked over to him. Meanwhile Lincoln was smiling from all the affection his sisters are giving him.
"Hey kiddo, how are you feeling?" Asked Lynn Sr while Rita picked up Lily from Lori.
"Great, I don't feel pain or anything." Lincoln said with a smile.
"That's great sweetie. I'm going to sign some paperwork so that the hospital can let you out. Say goodbye to your friends. You can see each other again tomorrow." Said Rita motioning for his sisters to leave and wait for him outside. They soon left the room and only Lincoln and his friends remained.
"Alright guy's, I'm going now. Wanna hang tomorrow?" Suggested Lincoln.
"Sure, as long there is no storm outside." Said Clyde as the others nodded.
"Yeah I agree, a lot of people got struck that night." Said Rusty causing Lincoln to make a confused face.
"Wait we aren't the only ones to get hit?" Asked Lincoln
"No, you should have seen the hospital when I was awake. People left and right some people had to go to other hospitals because of lack of room." Explained Clyde. Lincoln was about to say something before Lori peeks her head through the door.
"Lincoln, we need to go. Mom and dad are waiting " Lincoln threw the question aside before waving goodbye to his friends and walking out the door.
On the way back home all of his sisters were asking if he was okay. Soon they arrived at their house and ate dinner. The whole dinner was him being questioned if something was wrong. He understood that they worried and let them ask away. After dinner he decided to watch some tv with his sisters. To his surprise, his sisters let him choose what they all would see. Lincoln turned on Ace Savvy: The Animated series and began explaining the lore to the sisters who cared.
After a while, it started getting dark and Lincoln began to feel extremely tired. It felt like the tv was the only thing keeping him awake. His sisters took notice of this and asked if he would want to go and sleep. He agreed, but it was weird none of his sisters were tired. Not even Lily.
He went to his room and instantly laid down on his bed. But everything felt uncomfortable for him. He got up and went to turn on the lights to see what was making him uncomfortable in his bed. And when the lights went on, he saw nothing. It was just his bed. Then he realized something, he wasn't tired at all, he turned the lights off and began to feel tired again, then he turned them back on and felt energized.
'I'll ask Lisa tomorrow about this.' he thought before turning off the lights and trying to fall asleep, after 20 minutes he was out.
A new day has begun, and Lincoln woke up. He stood up from his bed and put on his clothes. He felt hungry and went to the kitchen to get some food and deciding on cereal. He went to the fridge and saw a note on it which read.
"The girls have school today and were at work. Hope you can entertain yourself. Love mom" Now Lincoln was confused, he originally planned to hang with his sisters and then with his friends. But I guess I must skip the first part now.
Suddenly a notification comes to Lincoln's phone. It was a message from the group chat they opened his phone to see what the message was.
Zach: "Guys can we meet somewhere. Like now?!" Lincoln wondered what that was about but suddenly a new message pops up
Clyde: "Yes, something weird is going on guys and I'm freaking out!" Now Lincoln was worried.
Rusty: "Agree with you Clyde you need to check this out."
Liam: "Same here guys. Where should we meet?" While Lincoln had no idea of what was happening, he knew of a place to meet.
Lincoln: "Okay sure let's meet at the old factory. Clyde, I'll meet you at your house." The old factory was their base as they call it. No one could come into the factory because of the fence in between but last summer he and his friends discovered a small hole in the fence which allowed them in. And ever since then they always meet there on an emergency. He then remembered that he forgot something.
Lincoln: "Stella are you coming?"
Stella: "Sry guys this jerk won't leave me alone on social media. I'm trying to deal with it."
Lincoln: "k, good luck."
He finished his cereal before putting on a jacket and leaving the house. He messaged his mom that he's going out with friends and went to Clyde's house. He knocked on the door and Clyde soon opened up with a jacket and gloves which Lincoln found strange since it wasn't even that cold.
"Hey Clyde, Are you alright?" Lincoln asked
"I'm fine. Just uhh-. I'll show you in the factory." Said Clyde. Lincoln wanted to question him but decided against it. After a 15-minute walk, they reached the hole that lead-in into the factory. They soon reached Rusty, Liam, and Zach who were already waiting on them. Upon seeing them they all went to Lincoln and Clyde.
"You won't believe me what happened this morning." Said everyone except Lincoln who was still confused.
"Slow down, first Clyde, what happened?" Asked Lincoln.
"Well, I was making sandwiches in the kitchen." Everyone nodded
"Then I started thinking about Lori." Everyone looked at him weirdly minus Lincoln who didn't look surprised.
"And of course, my nose starts bleeding but this time my hand began to glow red and I freaked out and dropped my sandwich. And when I went to pick it up, it was extremely burnt." Finished Clyde. Everyone looked at him with surprise before Zach said.
"Dude the same thing happened to me except the part with Lincolns sister. I was playing a game and when I died, my hand got covered by some black goo stuff." Now everyone looked at both Zach and Clyde with confusion.
"That's not the weirdest your gonna hear. Guys I was playing with my dad's weights and sneezed. When I looked back, I had crushed a 100-pound weight with only one hand." Explained Rusty.
"Guys my story is the weirdest. I went to tend to my family's horse and suddenly they go all crazy and run towards me. But I reacted and did some backflip over them. And the weird part is that I didn't even see them. I only heard them and did a backflip out of sheer reflexes." Said Liam. Now the tables have turned because everyone was looking at Lincoln.
"What guys you think that a lightning bolt gave you powers?" Said Lincoln a bit skeptical. Everyone nodded.
"Guys don't you think that I would have gotten powers then. It's not like I can shoot lasers out of my hand." Suddenly Lincoln's arm begins to glow white and a beam of light shoots out. Now everyone is silent.
"Guys… WE GOT SUPERPOWERS!" Said Lincoln out loud while the others smiled and celebrated.
"Now for the big question. What more can we do?" Asked Rusty.
The next hours consisted of the boys trying to learn what they could do.
Lincoln found out that he could not only shoot beams of light but also construct things out of light like a blade, claws and even a working screwdriver. But it was only limited to his hands.
Clyde found out that he could also fire red beams that become more stronger the more he charges up. They don't pierce anything but instead knocks things back.
Rusty discovered that if he holds his breath then he becomes invulnerable. And that he is naturally stronger than anyone else.
Zach found out that he could shape his whole body with the black goo which everyone agrees is ink. He can cover anything on his body in ink which allows him to shape it into anything he wants like a giant sword that surprises everyone. But it can be washed away with water.
Liam learned that his senses were heightened and that he could do parkour, he could dodge and outrun most of the guys.
"Guys this is awesome. We could be superheroes!" Said Clyde. Everyone smiled and agreed on that.
"Guys, if there is ever trouble then the guardians of Royal woods will be there to stop it." Said Lincoln while striking a heroic pose with his friends.
Hey, guys c0ffeee here again with my second story. I've wanted to do a superhero-based story for a long time even before 'truth of the past'. Originally this was a story about only Lincoln getting powers, but I decided to restart and make this. So yeah thank you guys for reading. All the guardian's abilities described down below.
The guardian's powers:
Lincoln: Able to shoot light beams and create tools to help him like blades or claws. Lincoln is much weaker in darkness and functions better if there is a light source nearby.
Clyde: Can shoot red beams that become more powerful the more it charges up. Clyde blast only knocks things back and doesn't pierce things.
Rusty: Is incredibly strong and becomes more durable if he holds his breath.
Liam: Acrobatic with higher senses that allow him to detect danger right before it happens. More agile than anyone else.
Zach: Can cover any of his body parts in ink. Any ink-covered area can be shaped however he wants. For example, he can turn his ink-covered arm into a giant fist or a giant sword. But his ink can be washed away by water.
