Superman: Legends live forever

Author: Lostinfantasy9918

Author's notes: The vast world of Superman. This is another version. My version, many changes but still it's a path of self-discovery, a tale of overcoming obstacles, hope and justice, for a better world, for a better tomorrow. I hope it can be an inspirational story for me and for you.

P.S – I'm a slow writer, English isn't my mother language and so, if you like this and want to keep up with this, the best way is to put on your alert/favorite list. The reviews are always welcomed.

And now it begins.

"A doomed planet…

Desperate scientists…

Last hope…

Kindly couple…

Heroes may die but Legends live forever"

So many worlds, So many possibilities in front of them and yet, a headache just to make a choice: the room was filled with worlds, lives, people but it all came down to one person, one child, escaping from certain doom. The globes were surrounding them with life, echoing the difficulties to find the right one.

"Which one?" – Her eyes were lost with the amount of worlds, touching one of the many globes floating around the room: the cosmic multiverse version entirely compressed in one room.

"I'm not sure…endless versions of him, it's almost impossible to make a choice." – He replied, mesmerizing.

She touched the globe she knew the best. -"Fine, it's that simple: Let's pick the strongest one, that one from the golden age. Apple?" – She smiled at him, trying to lighten up the mood.

"Not in the mood for jokes, Eve."

She added with same tone. - "Why you keep calling me that name is beyond me, Adam…"

He ignored her sarcastic tone, too focused on what was in front of him. - "-If that was the case, the best candidate would be that superboy prime and he became a homicidal maniac." – His eyes pursed another globe. – "I don't think it's about power, it's about essence..."

"Essence?..." – she looked particularly at one globe: it began showing the Kent farm. - "There's that one from the Smallville…"

"Powerless, two daughters and too much comfortable with his normal life…" - He grabbed her globe and put it aside, already looking for other globes.

She wasn't thrilled with his answer. - "You try now."

He picked another globe, another world. - "This version, the man of steel…"

She looked at him, already to shut him down. - "Has already died, has a tendency for dictatorship, in fact, every version of him when Lois or any other of his lovers die, he loses himself, not so much for essence. Another try?"

"Good point."- Adam snorted. – "Basically eliminates more than half of his versions. Then Lois, Lana, Lori, Lyla, Wonderwoman or whoever she is, has to survive." – He focused his attention to others worlds: one, two, other and another – "Lois and Clark…Lois and Superman…"

"Seriously, you're not considering that one, are you?"

He smirked, unusually. - "You're always grumpy when you're eating apples."

She laughed. – "Touché!"

That momentum of quirkiness quickly faded and rapidly his attention refocused on the globes. - "Everything revolves around him." – He was still searching for the right answer.

Eve, on the other hand, was lost. She sat, seemingly disheartened. The challenge ahead of them demanded the best of them, the best of the Supermen. All those globes, all those almost infinite possibilities: she was tired. She scratched the back of her head. - "I'm running out of ideas… It would be nice to have a fresh start."

Suddenly he looked at her, thrilled. "That's it!" – He looked at her, seemingly thrilled, grabbing her by her shoulders. - "We shape our own version!"

Her eyes met his, with confusion. -"What?"

He smiled with his eureka moment. - "Think about it, we shape things in order to prepare him. A twist here, a little touch there… If we do this, he'll be more prepared than any other version. Then he can help us."

His optimism met her doubts. - "What if we're wrong?"

"If we're wrong…all we can do, is to wait for the end…"

To be continued…
