I don't own anything
Midoriya Izuku, a 6 foot 7 behemoth, has always been an anomaly to his classmates, especially to a certain music lover named Jirou Kyouka. At first, you would be cautious in approaching him, not only for his size, but also his stern face, but the few people who actually know him…
Know that he's the biggest nerd in existence who has a heart of gold. He keeps to himself mostly, and you can usually find him listening to his music.
To Jirou Kyouka, however, he's something different. The two of them have been friends since elementary, and they've always walked to school together. And to her…
He's a big fucking idiot.
Ah, enough exposition, you came for a story and I'm here to give it to you…
"...Izuku," Kyoka tried to get Izuku's attention, but he was walking steadily next to her. 'Sheesh, has he gotten taller?'
Izuku, however, was listening to his music. Kyouka could distinctly hear 'Telephone Line' by 'Electric Light Orchestra'.
"Izuku!" she called out, getting slightly annoyed. She poked him with her earphone jacks, and this successfully got his attention.
"Ow!" he exclaimed, rubbing the side of his arm. He slid his headphones off and rested them on his neck. "What the hell was that for?!"
"You're not listening to me!" she said angrily. "I was asking you if you're gonna take the U.A. exam."
"Oh," he said blankly. He didn't say anything for a couple of seconds. "Uhh… fuck, that's like three months away, right?"
"Yeah,"
"Shit… I mean I guess," he said unenthusiastically (much to Kyouka's annoyance). "...not like lame telepathy can do that much…" he muttered.
"I heard that," she said, ready to poke him. "And hey, if your 'lame telepathy' doesn't work, you could always scare them with your face and how fuckin' tall you are."
"I guess," Izuku said, desperately wanting to listen to his music. "You're taking the test too, right?"
"Hmm…" Kyouka thought for a couple seconds. "I've been thinking about this a lot, yeah I wanna be a hero."
"That's a surprise," Izuku said, chuckling. "I mean, if you go, I'll go."
"How's it a surprise!?" Kyouka said irritated. 'And that's such a stupid reason to become a hero!'
Izuku just shrugged and played his music, which in turn got an extra hard poke from Kyouka's earphone jack.
It was the usual morning for them, they got into school, kids started pointing at Izuku and whispering, and Kyouka was ignored (probably 'cause Izuku was a foot and a half taller than her).
"Hey, Kyouka!" a lively girl with curly brown hair exclaimed.
"Good morning, Kyouka." a stoic looking girl with long black hair and glasses greeted.
"Oh, good morning Himari, good morning Ayame," she said, putting her shoes away.
"O-oh, g-g-good morning, Midoriya…" Ayame (lively, curly brown hair) muttered, blushing and twirling her hair.
"Morning," he said blankly. He put on his headphones and turned them up all the way "See you later."
He quickly turned and left, walking to class.
Ayame sighed with a huge grin on her face. She was staring at his figure as he walked away. "He's so cu-u-ute~"
"I don't see it," Himari (stoic, long black hair, glasses). "He's a big idiot."
"Why do you hate him so much?!" Ayame retorted. "Anyway, how ya doing Kyouka?"
"Eh, I'm doing fine," Kyouka said, yawning. "Aya, if you like Izuku so much, why don't you just confess?"
"W-wha- how am I supposed to do that?!" Ayame said, blushing furiously.
"You go up to him, ask to go somewhere private, and confess," Himari stated blankly. "Were gonna be late for class."
"Yeah, cause it's SO easy…" Ayame said, still twirling her hair. "I can't believe you haven't dated him yet, Kyouka, you've known him for so long!"
"W-what?" Kyouka exclaimed, blushing slightly, very surprised at this. "N-nah, me and Izuku are just friends."
Kyouka's parents have always joked about her and Izuku, ever since they met.
"I wanna marry Izuku!" a very young Kyouka had said.
"Oh ho!" her dad had said, picking her up in his arms. "My baby girl is in love!"
The memory of this always haunted her. It wasn't until she got older that realized she 'liked' Izuku.
The school day
"Hey, Kyouka," he said while they were walking home. "Could you… teach me how to play the guitar?" He was… blushing? I mean, you have to squint and be close to him, but still, he was blushing!
"Huh? Where's this coming from?" Kyouka said, trying to play it off but you couldn't begin to understand how happy she was.
"I don't know...you look cool when you play…" he muttered.
"O-oh..." she blushed hard and looked away. 'What's this feeling…?'
"I mean, if you don't want to-"
"S-sure," she said, twirling her earphone jacks.
Awkward silence ensued.
"H-hey, wanna listen?" Izuku had offered her his phone so she could plug her jacks in. He pulled out his wireless headphones and turned them on.
"Yeah…"
"Any suggestions?" he asked.
"Hmm," she thought for a couple seconds. "How about 'You Make Me Feel Like dancing'?"
They walked home in a weird but comfortable silence. As they normally do.
Yeah, not awkwardly, normally.
So, whatcha fucking think? I'm trying to get my writing skills better. I would make this into a comic, but I don't have the patience or a drawing tablet. So, if anyone out there gets inspired, go right ahead and make this into a comic. I don't care. It's a fanfiction. Do whatever the fuck you want. Maybe I'll make more, if you guys like it.
Gimme suggestions, criticism, I want all of it.
