Bittersweet (The Ori the game history re-written by Layuzed)

A message to my readers, also summary

Hello everyone, the fanction I bring you is something I really wanted to do, and as writing is a hobby of mine, I am still learning to rules and how to make a fanfiction, yeah, this is my first time doing this and publishing it to the world. Maybe it might not be at the quality one could expect, who knows.

The story I want to write is the story of Ori, the spirit of the forest, from the beginning of the first game (Blind Forest) to the end of Will of the Wisps, a wondrous adventure that I just can't shut up about it, so warning there is SPOILERS(you don't say), not recommended for anyone planning to play the official game. My theme and pace is slightly or quite different from that of the game, but it still has the same storytelling image, I am not creating new characters and such, just playing with we have already without leaving the basics., but i am adding some speech, dialogue is cool i'll put a lot of it, a bit of humor/comedy, feelings and hardships, character interactions, all the good stuff, also, Some catch phrases like the one the narrator says can be a bit off, I don't remember them 100% but i can get the message delivered. I would like to also apply here, I plan to write everything, and launch chapters faster if people enjoy it, I am a bit lazy for the most part, so don't be angry if I procrastinate.

I hope you can all enjoy my writing.

1- Prologue

An orphan destined for heroism, born from the great spiritual tree, adopted by Naru, a loving mother who took care of his childhood in a forest blessed with life.

With the heart beating in the center of her home, the spiritual tree took care of all living beings for them to prosper, it produced spirits of the forest, small beings of light that protect the forest from the decay and darkness.

Naru lived her life with her adopted son in peace, with a spirit of the forest, born without knowing his purpose as a guardian for having been taken from the big tree before the time by the storm, Naru did not know at the time, days and months had passed, he was now radiant with his light, fast and nimble, a loved and happy little spirit living the best life without knowing the dangers of the world, everything was fine, Naru didn't do anything wrong…

It was another beautiful day in Nibel, Naru and her son went out to harvest fruits, it was time to feed themselves, Naru took her son on her shoulders, visiting each tree to harvest its fruits, one by one, until they reached a river, and on the other side, large peach trees, in abundance ready for anyone, Naru and her son prepare to cross the river, together they build a bridge, they worked hard during the day and had a lot of fun building it, arriving at night, the bridge was ready, and they finally enjoyed a nice meal under the peach trees, Naru ate so fast that it was a surprise that she didn't choke, maybe she had a technique for not choking? The child was impressed by looking at his mother eating, the little spirit had the idea of keeping the peaches in his house to eat later, he gathered several in his arms and walked home, Naru didn't even notice since she was so busy eating. On the way back, thunder had lit the night skies, strangely it wasn't raining, there were no clouds, just stars, a strange energy was passing through the forest, was it a fog? Through the woods and branches of each tree, this energy was almost everywhere, it was looking for something, the spirit looked still for a while, until the fog became aware of the child's presence, and they approached, scared by the unknown the little one dropped the peaches and ran home and not back to Naru, the energy followed him, it looked like he was the target, "What is this? Why are you following me? " the spirit asked to the energy, he was practically at the entrance to his house, a small cave where he and Naru lived, it was his home and where he could feel safe, the energy seemed stronger with each step, increasingly bright, more familiar, the child felt that it might not be harmful, but he did not give the chance to know, until one point, the child could clearly see, the source of this energy that passed through the forest, it was the spirit tree, it emanated this energy through the forest, it was looking for something, something that belonged to it, a child that was stolen from him in the storm. The child stopped and was mesmerized by the light of the big tree, the energy enveloped his body, lifting him in the air, it seemed to want to take him back, back to his family, Naru arrives screaming and takes her child, taking him inside their cave, worried about what the tree wanted with her adopted son.

She already knew.

The child did not understand, after leaving the trance, he just followed his mother, as if nothing had happened, they remained together, even after the call of the tree, Naru denied the return the child where it belonged, the energy had dissipated, the tree had ceased its search.

Naru was concerned, "Is the forest mad at me? I can't let him go, he is my gift! I can't... "she thought as she cried with her son in her arms.

"We will always remember the night. When I lost Ori to the great storm."

That day, she found him during the great storm, a white and shiny leaf passed before Naru and was carried by the winds, intrigued, Naru followed the shiny leaf to where it landed, and from that leaf the little spirit arose, she was enchanted with the beauty of the little creature, she felt blessed before a gift from heaven, embracing her gift, Naru took him home and lived with a adopted spirit of the forest.

"Naru embraced my light, as a child of her own".

...

With the passage of time, the forest became silent, the trees lost their fruit, the animals were leaving their homes, with the passage of time, Naru felt that she was paying for her sin, for stealing one of the children of the forest. No life was to be found outside their cave, trees were dying, the waters were corrupted, the winds don't blow, the warmth is out of control, a nearby volcano was threatening to erupt, Nibel would burn to ashes. Food was missing for as long as they could remember, the last fruit, the last peach was in Naru's hands, analyzing the situation to look for more food, Naru does a search in his grove that was once so rich and now a bark of his former being, hope still showed his face, there were fruits on the highest branch of a tree, Naru tried to make an effort to climb, but the tree was so fragile and its branches could not bear any weight, she fell from the tree several times, until she was exhausted, she was defeated without picking up the peaches, tired, she returns and looks at the last peach, and hands it to her child who slept peacefully in his nest, the child smells the fruit and wakes up, seeing the mother tired and hurt, he offers her the peach, she rejects it as any mother would do for her children. The little one feels he needs to do something, he gets up from his bed and goes to the tree that the mother tried to climb, with little effort, he reaches the fruit and fills his arms, proud to give the mother good news. Happiness in giving hope to Naru made his heart rejoice, memories were appearing before his eyes as he walked carefully through the forest, the day they built the bridge, it had been so much fun, when they could drink the waters of the rivers without worry, the team work for the reward on the other side of the river, when the two of them played piggyback around their nest, they drew their little family on the walls of the cave, with different colors and ways, those were the best days, the nostalgia came to suffocate. Arriving home, Naru is asleep, the little spirit presents the fruits to his mother, he calls her, "Mother! I managed to get more fruit for us! Check it out ". said the child hopeful, but Naru was still asleep. "Mom? Wake up!" the son pleaded, bringing a peach closer to his mother's nose. "Mom? Mom! Please wake up!" he begged, shaking his mother, but Naru did not wake up. something was off, she wont wake up, he tried everything, after several minutes, he finally undertood.

"Mom ..." said one last time.

An orphan once more, with no reason to stay, the child leaves in search of light...

...So small and fragile, he wandered through the forest alone, bearing the cold of the dark night, wandered endlessly, the night seemed eternal.

Cries for help were met with silence. So hungry, so weak and so frail to support himself. A trail of thorns was all that was in front of him, he walked, walked and walked. Unable to continue, he falls, with effort he crawls forward, afraid of what may be behind, it is dark and the fog is too thick to be able to see, his breath was failing, he was losing consciousness, the more he tried to move on faster would he find his fate. Through pain and sadness, he kept going…

Until the last breath was drawn…

...A white flower sprouts in front of the child's body, a small light hovered close by, that light shone and more flowers appeared,

connecting to other flowers, they created a trail that extended to the horizon fields, the light became stronger, it dissipated the black fog revealing the great spirit tree, the two were connected by the flowers, the spirit tree had finally found its child.

"With my last effort, my light revived Ori, A new hope is born".

The child is lifted into the air with a beam of light, he wakes up, without hunger, cold or fear. He was confused by what had happened, he doesn't remember much, but he remembered his mother, and the great brightness of the tree. He knew it was not a nightmare. even still, fear was coming back, where to go now? Still lost even without the darkness.

The journey begins
