Oh dam It's 1am already ew. :0
I wrote this starting at 11 (my bedtime fml) and its been two hours...
Alan is that one friend who is your friggin cheerleader, but he also can't keep his mouth shut lol.
makes me think of shingo :0
It had been two weeks since Rock officially signed his employment papers with Iori Yagami, and as a result, his life got busy.
It wasn't just Iori keeping him busy - he was. The erratic red-haired man regularly sent him home with a course load far exceeding university standards. Rock thought he knew music pretty well until he sat down to crack open one of Iori's many dusty textbooks. That's when things went downhill. He had been floundering in that miserable hole called 'Classical Music Theory' between floundering in his other holes of Calculus, English and Chemistry.
I hate… the Italian language… damn I bet I can speak it by now…
But honestly, Rock was getting paid a lot more than he expected (he'd thought Iori had accidentally added an extra zero to his paycheck) - so there was no way he was going to skimp on his studies. In fact, he had checked his bank app this afternoon to see that his entire life savings had doubled. He was shocked, then ecstatic, and in that moment would've happily jumped off a bridge if Iori asked him to. Now that Iori had asked him to study - by hell he was gonna study.
Oh god…
Another effect of this new job - (besides for the fact he now had no time for friends) - was his friend group ballooning dramatically. Everyone wanted a piece of him. Worse, he had made the mistake of freaking out about his paycheck with Alan, and almost immediately people he hardly knew were bothering him for either money or friendship.
Guys… ugh… leave us alone…
Given that now he spent most of his time in the school library trying to learn the Italian language via music textbooks - the disturbances were extremely unwelcome. Luckily - or unluckily - today his new employer was sitting across from him, in the school library, with a pink hairband on, a cast over his right arm, and badly explaining how to employ '12-tone rhythms'.
Dammit… I shouldn't ask him questions anymore… why did he have to show up?
Iori couldn't read thoughts, so he continued pointing at a line in one of Rock's textbooks and jabbering away. All around them, people had gathered about and were staring. Some of them Rock recognized (Pigtail girl!?).
"So it's serialism, right? Like, Series. And they're twelve of them. You can go ahead and order them however you like, but you need to include one from each of the twelve pitch classes - but keep track of your prime series, yeah? That's P. Invert it, you get I for inversion, and retrograde, you label that R. Now-"
Iori, despite being a pretty interesting person, ranked up there with Mrs. Blackwell in his lecture style. He had been sitting there, drawing illegible charts (his dominant arm was broken), and explaining the topic in the most boring and confusing way possible. If Iori didn't look as earnest as he did, Rock would have thought this was some sort of cruel prank. Given his attire and rather unsavory odor, Rock guessed he had decided to drop everything to literally run over and help Rock with 'Advanced Composition Theory Ch 4.6'.
Oh man, there's so many people just staring at us… Isn't he injured? Why is he running?
Iori was now pointing at his terrible chart and vocalizing tones. He didn't seem to notice that there were people creeping up all around the table with their phones out, and trying to inconspicuously record him. The pressure was a little too much for Rock, and he excused himself to use the restroom. He seriously doubted the crowd would shrink by the time he came back, but one could hope.
Bro. Music theory is wack. I only did basic and I hated it.
Alan gonna be my First OC I don't kill.
but tbh he has like 3 mentions in my entire universe, so eh.
Also miss Pigtails ;)
Yag deffo shouldn't be running with a broken arm (Terry broke his arm in Cash Cow. this is 2 weeks after. 2 weeks after this, On Tour starts.)
