The Death of a Rose
It all ended with a stab wound. That's when her world ended. She had left home, traveled all across the world and confronted Salem, only to be overwhelmed by grimm and her magic. This can't be how it ends for her. A goal, a life that still had so much to live for, only to be snuffed out now.
How had it come to this? Why did her life have to end so violently? There was only one thing that she could do before she bled to death.
"I will send you to a place where you can never be a nuisance to me again." Salem removed the sword from her chest and threw her to the floor. Blood pooled around her as she curled up. She knew what she had to do now. She would not let Salem win so easily.
She sat up and locked eyes with the witch. Her vision was getting blurry and she was lightheaded from the blood loss.
"You will never return to this world, and even when you die, you will go to a different afterlife than your family." Salem was now monologuing.
"No, I won't let you. If you send me away, this world will end, and you with it." Her eyes started glowing as the light was released. It pierced everything. When it receded, Salem could barely see, and the silver-eyed girl was gone.
She was running as fast as she could. She didn't have much time left before she bled out. She couldn't stand anymore. She collapsed as a scream ripped through her ears. She was on her stomach, crawling away from the approaching danger.
"Fine than. If you're going to be like that," Salem stomped on her leg, "I guess I'll just kill you instead of going through the trouble to send you away." The girl felt a blade pierce her neck, right above her shoulders. She barely felt it. Her life was slipping away. She was still so young, so much to live for.
If only, that was the thing, if only Salem hadn't existed, if only she had never...
There was no point in dwelling on something so pointless at a time like this. A sword through the chest, followed by a sword through the neck. With her last breath, she uttered four final words.
"I'm sorry, my daughters." Salem smiled as the woman on the end of her sword slipped silently into death. The light in her eyes died with her.
"Don't worry, they will join you soon enough."
