Prologue
The tides swayed as a mysterious humanoid figure stood in the midst of the chaos. Winds tore down trees and the sky was torn by lightning bolts and littered with the rain and hail. Anyone sane would take shelter from the wild phenomenon taking place. But, the figure stood there while tiny specs swirled around it. If you inspected the specs, you would see the gods of Olympus fighting as the world around them ended.
Percy POV (after the HOO series)
I stood next to the bonfire as the campers washed away the horrors of the recent events. Bodies of our comrades were freshly buried in the graveyard next to the Big House. The number of casualties was unspeakable and the feast of victory was gloom with dread. As the campers filed out, a low sense of morale flooded the camp.
Percy sat by the campfire that was about to go out. The pavilion was empty and the campers had gone to sleep, but the fear kept Percy awake. Percy was ashamed of himself. If only he was strong enough. The thought brushed his mind from time to time, but the full effect of his incompetence has set in and he grieved for all of the friends he had lost throughout his life as a demigod. Leo Valdez, Michael Yew, Charles Beckendorf, and countless others gone. All have sacrificed their lives for what? The gods are still fighting amongst themselves and the demigods were still perishing. If only I were stronger…
Annabeth walked up behind him and sat next to him, laying her head on his shoulder. A silent understanding passed between them and together they both wept and paid homage to the demigods who sacrificed themselves for the greater good.
Percy looked at Annabeth. "I love you way more than you could ever imagine. I don't know what I would do without you."
Annabeth smiled back and replied "I know. I love you too, but how do we move on?"
Percy stared into the stars and didn't respond. Bob would never see the light of day again because of Tartarus. When Percy thought of that place, he felt an unearthly chill shiver down his spine.
Percy kissed Annabeth goodnight and escorted her to her cabin.
As Percy walked to his cabin he thought about his all his fights ever. Every single one was a fight he couldn't win. The only reason why he won was because others had helped him. He could never win a battle with sheer power.
I NEED POWER.
Percy shook his head. What was he thinking?
These weren't his thoughts.
Percy laid in his bed and stared at the ceiling as a single thought trailed his mind.
I need power.
NOW ENTERING THE REALM OF MORPHEUS
Percy was in the middle of nowhere.
Literally because he was in the pitch black abyss that went on endlessly. Percy looked around and wonders what the hell this was. This wasn't like his other dreams he had. Percy was just drifting around.
Boom.
Percy whirled around and turned to see nothing. What was that noise?
BOOM!
The sound was a lot closer and shook the abyss. Percy squinted his eyes and tried to look towards the direction of the noise. It sounded more like a footsteps. The booms were more terrifying than the moment when you didn't take out the chicken and your mom comes home.
Then a voice called to him and shattered the pitch black abyss. Percy was now standing at the mouth of volcano and the volcano was shaking with a roar. A creature rose out of the ashes and loomed over Percy with a massive height difference. Percy reached to his pocket. Riptide made its way into his hand and he flicked the cap off with his thumb.
Percy was filled with dread. Riptide was hopeless now. Not against him.
I hope that I can get back into the flow of writing. It has been so hard to write again, but I was very bored with my quarantined times so I made a prequel while I still try to form the plot of the story.
