The news hit her harder than the boulders that she once threw at him months ago while they were training; ever since he left the city, she kept isolating herself in the forest, unleashing her rage on anything that she could hit.
This did not help in subsiding the pain though, as she started to feel worse, hoping that he could have come there to heal the damage that she was causing; she always thought that his gestures were useless, but now she was desperately craving for them.
"Why?", she said to herself, before shouting it loud into the woods, "WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME HERE!? I'VE SWORN TO PROTECT YOU EVER SINCE I CAME OUT OF THIS WASTELAND'S CRUST! WHY DID YOU ABANDON ME AGAIN!?".
Just when she thought that things couldn't get any worse, she heard a very familiar voice calling her from behind, "Hey, sis", the orange gem turned around and saw the last gem that she would've expected to meet: Amethyst.
"Room for one more?", asked the purple gem, ignoring the mess around her.
"What do you want from me?", asked her the warrior, surprised to find the gem in the forest, "You know that I don't like visits" "Well, I thought that you would have needed to talk about the fact that Steven departed... This is just in case if you really want to talk about it", replied the other, causing an awkward silence between them; then, Jasper finally got up and sit on a rock nearby, mutely inviting Amethyst to sit with her.
The two gems finally got a chance to confront themselves, with Amethyst taking the word first, "Soooo... How are you feeling?".
"How do you think I am feeling?", replied rudely the warrior, before taking again the word, "Not well, if you want to know".
"Well that's something to start off", spoke Amethyst, before adding, "You know, you aren't the only one who's sad for his leaving; everyone down in Beach City is trying to start back again... But it's not the same thing without Steven around".
"I can hardly imagine that... How did she make you feel like?", suddenly asked the warrior with curiosity.
"What?" "How did Pink... I mean Rose make you feel important? I was her perfect quartz, the ultimate soldier... How did she prefer you to me?".
Amethyst sighed, while moving the fringe of hair on her, "I... When she discovered me, she said a lot of things to me, making me feel important, despite my... Form. She always kept repeating that I was something of unique... That is until when I started to discover that I wasn't really that special and I was... A runt", she paused for a moment, before starting to talk again, "When we discovered her true identity... I felt confused and angry about it... Maybe it was the same thing for you... I came out of the ground flawed from a garden of first quality, while you came out flawless from a garden of second quality... We both met the same person who made us feel like we were special.. And then the same person disappointed both me and you by lying to us; Isn't this ironical?".
Jasper grinned after that answer, "I guess we both have something in common, don't we?".
"Yeah, you're right", agreed the purple gem, "You know, I remember that Steven once proposed you to come at Little Homeschool... That offer is still open, you know, only now with one difference: instead of being a student, you could be a good teacher with me and train some of the gems who want to become stronger by training".
"And watch you runts struggle under the weight of my training? Not even by a chance", replied the other.
"Oh, come on, you can't be serious!", replied the purple gem, before chuckling at the sight of the cocky smile of the other, "Okay, seriously though: Are you feeling to come?".
Jasper finally found the strength to rise up again on her feet, before smiling down to Amethyst, "I am... Sis; I guess it's finally time for me to move on with my life... Just like her... Just like him before me", and with that, the two started to return to Beach City, with Jasper finally feeling happy for the first time in her life after a long time.
Author Note; Hey everyone, I'm temporarily back again with this one shot, while I'm working on the new story for the rise of the darkness saga.
I've always thought that Jasper needed a little more of attention, especially in the future saga, and I felt a little disappointed when it came the final episode and she just went out of scene with a little outburst; so this is my attempt at giving her an ending that she might deserves.
