On my old account i have a oneshot series where i write about Astro's adventures and in it there's a timeline four or five years into the future that i haven't explained in detail and i get that some people might get confused, so i brought this out. in these years, the main characters go through some major changes. i added some headcannons, but i got a lot of my inspiration from Chell101's Astro Boy story "4 Years" that was never finished, but it's really good go read it later.
I'm going to bring that oneshot series over to this account in a while, or you could go read it if you already know my old account.
Now on with the story!
"Dude, that was epic!" Zane told Astro as Astro landed after defeating that big random alien monster ( "I think you took a wrong turn somewhere around Saturn!" )
"Eh, it was nothing..." Astro said, Cora, Widget and Sludge joining in to walk together in the direction of the edge of the city.
"Yeah, like kicking a vending machine?" Cora asked, smiling, causing a few others to snicker.
"Gimme back my money!" Zane exclaimed, kicking air to emphasize his point, nearly falling over in the process.
"Stop it, guys..." Astro said, laughing at his friend's antics, "Anyway, It's nearly dark and i gotta get home. You need a ride?"
"Can you even drive?" Widget and Sludge asked at the same time, which in turn made them glare at each other for stealing the other's line.
"No, actually, I've never driven a vehicle before, but i guess -"
"Then chill, Astro," Zane said, "We'll find our car and go ourselves. You said you needed to get home."
"Oh..." Astro said, putting on an act of false sadness, "Ah well, i was THINKING I'd fly you all there but it seems like you -"
"WAIT!" All four of them said at the same time, the twins coming out of their staring match. Astro grinned.
"AaAaAAaAaaAAAAAAAAaaaaHHhhHHHHHhHHH!" All four of Astro's friends yelled as they blasted through the sky. Zane was holding Astro's left hand, Cora his right, and Widget and Sludge were hanging on to Astro's neck for dear life.
They landed in front of the orphanage, but all of them were still frozen to Astro out of fear.
Astro laughed at the priceless expressions on his friend's faces and pulled them off one by one, dropping them off in front of the orphanage where all the kids were waiting.
The kids all ran up and hugged Cora and Zane, as they were the oldest there and kind of like the kids' older siblings. Widget and Sludge started excitedly talking to their friends about what craziness had happened.
Of course, Astro was bombarded with kids that had heard the news and ran up to Astro to ask him all kinds of questions ranging from, "why didn't you just say you were a robot?" To "do you wear socks?"
Astro hung out with the kids for a while, taking the lucky little ones out for a gentle flight and the unlucky older ones for a rollercoaster. He also showcased his blaster, as the kids who were interested in robotics had asked.
Later, one by one the kids basically dropped dead wherever they were in the living room and you could hear soft breathing and snores after all of them were out. With the help of Cora and Zane, Astro carried each and every child to their bed and tucked them in nice and cozy for the night.
"So, now Hamegg's not here, what are you going to do?" Astro asked, flopping down on a fluffy couch in front of his friends, who were on the sofas themselves.
"I dunno." Zane answered truthfully, "I guess Cora and i, and you when you came along, were always the oldest, but now Cora has to be with her family and you have to help with the cleaning up of the city."
"Nah, I'll find some excuse to hang around" Cora stated, confidently leaning back, "You need my help anyway."
"Did you just say i can't do anything on my own?" Zane questioned, slowly turning to face Cora who answered with a "Yup." Making Astro laugh and Zane's jaw drop.
"I'll be busy, but i guess i can stop by too once every while to check up on things," Astro stated, "You know, to make sure you haven't blown up the place yet." Cora and Astro laughed, but Zane joined in afterwards.
"Don't you have to help restore the entire city?" Cora asked Astro.
"Yeah, i guess." Astro said, picking at some loose stitching on his sweater where it got a little torn from the battle.
"But where to start? The entire city's in ruins." Cora asked. It was true. The city really wasn't in the best shape, with buildings leaning on each other like dominoes and most of them with holes in it or plain destroyed. Some were even gone when the Peacekeeper had absorbed the buildings.
"Should be no problem for my super strength." Astro said, standing up, putting his hands on his hips and puffing out his chest proudly. Zane rolled his eyes. Cora just poked Astro's belly causing him to deflate and start laughing.
Sooner than the trio would have liked, it was 1 in the night and Astro panicked going on and on about how his dad is going to kill him for being late ( "How the heck do you kill a walking, talking tank?" - Zane ), but it turns out his dad didn't mind and was just happy to have Astro safe and sound at home.
Tomorrow was going to be a long day.
That was a bit of a filler chapter i admit, but the next chapter has been planned out an i'm going to try to get it out fast as i can. in the next chapter we're going to have Astro help clean the city, Cora helping Zane who is having problems running the orphanage, and a peek into Cora's room. have fun until then!
