This is my first fanfic, I have been reading them for awhile but never participated. I hope you enjoy. This is my take on Nine Lives of Chloe King. No Brian, but of course Alec. Rated M for later chapters. I own nothing at all when it comes to Nine Lives of Chloe King. I hope you enjoy.
Chapter 1
Chloe POV
*Beep* *beep* *beep*
"Ugh is it really morning already?"
I woke up at my desk again, I guess I didn't make it to my bed last night. I jumped up to turn off my alarm.
"Huh."
I'm surprised mom hasn't knocked or made sure I was alive who knows how long the alarm was going off. I have a biology mid-term today and even with studying all night I'm just hoping to get a C or better. I grabbed my lucky necklace in hopes of a miracle. It's has a small golden cat on a gold chain, I had it since forever. I headed straight to the bathroom, washed my face and brushed my teeth. Than I looked in the mirror to see what I have to work with. I giggled at myself seeing a line from my text book stamped to my face.
I decided to finish my hair and face after I got dressed. I went to my closet and pulled out my favorite pair of deep blue skinny jeans. After I looked around until I found my light pink v-neck shirt and olive green jacket.
*buzz* *buzz* *buzz*
Oh! My phone was charging on my desk and vibrating under my notes.
"Ames are you on your way already?"
"Yeah I'm about 5 minutes away let me guess your running late again haha."
"If I wasn't you would think something's up haha. I feel asleep at my desk again and have to just put up my hair and get my bag together."
"Ok well I'll wait out front, grab us something to eat to haha."
"I'll see u soon."
*Click*
I ran to the bathroom, threw on some light make up and put my hair up in a ponytail. I got my bag together and headed down stairs. There was a note on the fridge:
Hey Chloe I have to work 12 hour shifts the next three days so I am staying with a friend closer to the office. I trust you will be responsible, call me if you need me, love you. Mom
I grabbed some poptarts from the counter and flew out the door to Amy.
"See we are gonna make it I'm two minutes earlier than yesterday."
"Great now we will just jog instead of run to first period."
" It's not first period I'm worried about, I don't want to go to 5th period biology."
" Oh yeah you have that big test today, should of just taken chemistry with me. Anyway what do u want to do for your 16th birthday next week?"
" Honestly it's just another birthday I haven't thought about it to much, plus hopefully mom won't be stuck at work."
" I noticed her car was gone, how long this time?"
"Just a short three days at least."
" Well then leave the party planning to me and keep next Friday free."
"You don't have to Ames."
"No, I don't, I want to."
Arguing with Amy is pointless at this point plus we just arrived at school. We hurried our way to our lockers than class.
After first period I went back to my locker and of course it is right next to the captain of the basketball teams locker, Alec Petrov. He always has the loudest group gathered by him. It's always a hassle to get through. I saw the usual four guys standing there and tried to squeeze in. As I finally pried open my locker door I hear a familiar British accent.
"Hey Chloe"
I looked up and saw Alec was actually acknowledging my existence today.
"What's up Alec"
"You always this excited to talk to me"
Giving me his usually smirk I just rolled my eyes and closed up my locker and headed to class.
I hate how knowing he is watching me walk away makes me feel so victorious. Is his attention really something I want so badly. I took a breath to clear my mind and refocused on school.
Paul was waiting for me outside of 4th period so we can go find Amy and have lunch together. As Paul and Amy were discussing things for my birthday I was lost in cramming for my biology test.
Alec POV
I was walking passed Chloe with my lunch when I looked down at her and her necklace. Could it be Bastet? How long as she had it for. So many questions raced through my head that I knew to talk to aunt Val after school. I sat down at the table with my team and tried to hear what Amy and Paul were talking about.
" Come on Paul we did that for her two years ago, her 16th birthday is special"
" You know she can hear us she is right there"
" She isn't paying attention, lets keep thinking."
Well if she is 16 next week I will have to keep a close eye and see if she experiences any changes.
Chloe POV
The lunch bell rang and I was off to take my biology test I have been regretting all week. I took my test and finished with 10 minutes to spare. I am getting sleepy after eating so I hope I did ok. I felt a tap on my back and turned to Alec. This is the only class we share and of course he sits right behind me.
"Yes Alec?"
"How do you think you did?"
"Same as usual. Not to be rude but you haven't spoken to me since sixth grade and now twice in one day, why the sudden change of heart."
" You don't seem like your usual self today, my mistake."
For once I think I saw sadness flash through his eyes and he turned around to a member of the basketball team and talked away. Ugh. Why do I always say the wrong thing. At least it was about time to leave and the day was finally almost over.
After school I meet up with Amy and Paul.
" Hey Amy I'mma just walk to work today. It's a short three hour shift so I will probably just be doing inventory."
"Are you sure Chloe you know I don't mind"
" I know Ames but it's a nice day out. And I need to wake up a little bit more haha."
I walked away after saying my goodbyes. As I was almost to work I noticed a man following me. He seamed out of place. I couldn't see his face well but be was wearing a long black cloak. I crossed the street to make sure and sure enough he was. I walked faster straight into my store and looked out the window to see if I saw him. I did not, I could of sworn he was right behind me but now, no one was outside.
"Hi Natasha, I'm here."
" Hey chloe we got our …"
"New shipment last night and u want me to process it?"
" Man its going to be hard seeing you go off to college."
" Well let's see what my grades decide first haha. I'mma head to the back and get started."
Once my shift was over I started to head home. I was on alert but didn't see the man again thank goodness. I got home, heated up some leftovers and started on my homework.
Alec POV
After school I headed straight home to speak with aunt Val. Me and Jasmine arrived at the apartment and aunt Val was in her office. I knocked on the door and waiting for her to call me inside.
" Yes, come in."
"Hey aunt Val I have a few questions for you if you are not to busy."
" Of course I'm never to busy, what's going on?"
" Do you remember Chloe King?"
" I mean u guys have only been going to school together since 2nd grade, why Alec she is human."
" That's what I am wondering. She was wearing the golden basset necklace that is just like yours."
" That's impossible. There was only 6 necklaces made like this one. One for each member responsible for the Queen, and the Queen herself back in the day, before the war. Mine was handed down from my mother the Queen's Head Gaurd."
" I also over heard she turns 16 next week."
" Well if you have any suspicions of her being like us we will know for sure sooner rather than later. Tell Jasmine and if anything happens, if she transforms in any way bring her straight here. You remember how it feels."
" Thank you for your help and always listening. I'm going to go start my homework, don't work to hard in here."
" Impossible haha."
As I closed the door I saw Jasmine in the kitchen making a snack. Of course I took half of it and filled her in about Chloe.
" Are you sure you are not just hoping she is Mai."
" I have no idea what your talking about."
" No, than why did you tell the basketball team she is off limits."
" She just isn't the kind of girl who should be played with, anyway that's none of your business Jass."
" Sure, whatever you say, I'm going to actually do my homework."
Jasmine always was more of a little sister than a cousin but man does she get under my skin. I started on my homework when I had a feeling something was off. So I went for a walk. Something was urging me to check on Chloe so I headed towards her street.
