Prologue
The bulbs installed on the ceiling in a straight line shun white lights that lit the corridor, but it was nothing compared to the sunlight shining in through the window. The photos hung on the walls glowed under the sunlight's touch. If one were to stop and look at each photo, they would be quick to realize that these photos are of military personnel. Personnel whose identities will remain classified to the outside world until after over 50 years of their discharge.
Normally, the only figures that these photos witnessed would be the soldier on duty to clean that corridor. However, for the first time over four months, the corridor often tranquil echoed the sound of low quarter shoes meeting the ground in sync as three figures marched down the hallway towards the end.
Out of the three, the two standing on each side were in identical uniforms. Each wore a white helmet similar to the M92 helmets of the German Bundeswehr. Their onyx black blouses were worn over charcoal black undershirts, which were completed with obsidian ties, onyx black trousers and quarter low boots. The dress uniform was secured by a white Sam Browne belt, further supported by a cross-strap that passed diagonally over the right shoulder.
Golden lapel pins the shape of a hammer attached to wings resembling those of an angel's on its sides and a ribbon at the bottom with the slogan Fortis, Invictus, Valere imprinted were pinned on each side of the collars of the personnel's jacket. The silver pin above the right breast pocket was shaped in the head of an arctic fox. Two silver assault rifles shaped in reference to the Colt Canada C7s were crossed together formed the other pin on the left breast pocket.
They each wore a white armband on their right sleeve, with two blue letters MP –militærpoliti or Military Police – printed in the centre. The same two letters were also painted on their helmets.
The figure marching ahead of the other two was the one that stood out. His uniform was identical to the military police, bar the belt, armband, insignia on the shoulder mark and headwear.
"Name: Hiccup Haddock. Male."
There was no Sam Browne belt on him, but the jacket was a perfect fit for his figure. He wore a navy blue peaked cap instead of a white helmet which had a silver symbol consisting of the amalgamation of the two Norse runes – 'Algiz' and 'Tiwaz'.
"Codename: Fury."
The insignia on his rank slide had two medallion yellow chevrons pointed outwards.
"Rank: Sergeant."
The expression on the young man's face was cool, calm and collected.
"Role: Sniper."
If any of the passersby were to pay attention long enough, they may even notice a slight hint of pride radiating off both his face and his march, despite the circumstances ahead of him.
"Following his unauthorized action during a mission, the personnel above shall be court-martialed, facing a penalty of confinement in accordance with the Uniform Code of Berkian Military Justice ."
