Hawks smiled softly as he combed his fingers through Seraphina's hair, kissing along her bare neck and shoulder. He trailed his fingers down and pushed the blanket down, dancing his fingertips along the faint bruises on her hips. He tilted his head, resting his cheek in his hand as he relaxed against the pillows.
He was so lucky, having his own little songbird. Sure, she put up a fight at first, but a few easy-placed threats later and she calmed right down. He still allowed her to do Hero work but only under his watchful eye.
He gently hugged her waist as she started moving, wrapping his wings around her. She stiffened and curled her fingers in the sheet, tugging it up. He kissed her cheek and let her cover up, smiling softly.
She shifted slightly and mumbled, "Good morning."
He hugged her waist, pulling her close. "Good morning, little songbird. Did you sleep well?"
She nodded, slowly relaxing as he rubbed her side. "I did. Do you want breakfast?"
He gently nuzzled her neck, humming softly. "I'll cook something. I'm sure you're sore. Why don't you go take a nice bath?"
She tilted her head, closing her eyes as he kissed her temple. "That sounds nice, Keigo."
He smiled and sat up, sliding off the bed. "I'll get it started. We've got the day off, so we can spend the whole day together."
She nodded, holding onto the sheet as he pulled on some boxers before walking to the bathroom. She took a deep breath and slowly stand up, holding the sheet to her. Her clothes from the previous date night were torn and scattered around the floor.
Date night, she scrunched up her nose. They'd barely made it through the dinner before he was pulling her out, flying her home and tearing her clothes off. At least she did have some clothes in the dresser.
Keigo kissed her cheek, wrapping an arm around her waist to pull her up. "C'mon, the bath's filling up for you." She nodded slightly, leaning into him as he guided her to stand. He smiled and walked her to the bathroom. "I'll get you some clothes, go ahead and soak."
She smiled slightly and stepped to the bath. "Thank you."
He smiled and stepped out as she slowly slid into the bath, resting her head back as the bubbles foamed up around her. She let out a slow breath, closing her eyes as she listened to him dig around the dresser and closet. He did like picking out her clothes, even if they were just lounging about the apartment together.
She glanced up when he stepped in, folded clothes in his arms. He smiled down at her and set them beside the sink, wearing a pair of sweatpants and a low-backed tank top. His wings were gently folded against his back, relaxed and almost harmless-looking.
She swallowed and glanced up to meet his eyes. "Thanks, Keigo."
He smiled and gently patted her head, nudging her bottle of shampoo to her. "Do you want me to wash your hair?"
She shook her head. "You said you were going to make breakfast while I soaked."
He tilted his head and nodded. "You're right. Alright, I'll let you have a little 'me time'. I'll call when I finish cooking, alright?"
She nodded and grabbed the bottle of shampoo, sitting up once he shut the door behind himself. As she quickly washed her hair, she wondered how she ended up in this situation. He had seemed so nice and polite at first, if a bit flirty. She slowly grew fond of his bad puns and flirting over time and before she knew it, he had captured her in his grasp.
How ironic. The bird was the one that built the cage and guarded it rather than being trapped in it.
She inhaled as the smell of food slowly wafted into the bathroom and pushed herself up, sitting on the edge to grab the fluffy towel. She leaned over to pull the plug out and straightened up at a knock, holding the towel close. "I'm drying off now!"
"We're gonna eat at the couch, I think that'd be comfier for you."
She quickly patted dry and grabbed the plain black boxers, ignoring the ache in her hips. "Yeah, that sounds good."
She listened as he walked away and tugged on the tank top. She softly sighed as it exposed most of her breasts and tugged at it, patting her hair dry while she stepped out. Of course she was only allowed his clothes now.
Keigo smiled as she walked into the living room, sitting on the couch with the plates and glasses on the table. "There you are, I was about to come get you."
She smiled slightly and gingerly sat beside him, adjusting the towel to rest around her shoulders. "I'm here now. Sorry for making you wait."
He kissed her cheek, sliding her plate in her lap. "Eat up, it's your favorite."
She nodded and picked up the chopsticks to eat. The food was still hot, almost painfully so, but it warmed her insides. Her hair dripped onto the towel, slowly air drying as they ate.
She blinked when he offered her the glass and took it, glancing up when one of his feathers plucked off to dart through the apartment. She sipped some and he held out his hand as the feather slowly travelled back, her hairbrush wrapped up in it. He grabbed the brush and stood up, walking around to stand behind her.
She thickly swallowed a mouthful of juice and sat up straight. "Want to brush my hair?"
He smiled and kissed her cheek, gently gathering her hair back. "Why don't you sing while I do? That'll be nice."
She nodded slightly and sipped more juice, blinking quickly as she stared at the curtain hiding the balcony doors. She took a deep breath and started singing softly, closing her eyes. He smiled softly and started brushing her hair, gently working through the knots.
He tilted his head as her shoulders relaxed and paused to take the glass from her hands, setting it on the side table. She continued singing, her head bobbing slightly as her voice began to falter. He easily braided her hair and kissed her neck, sliding the towel off her shoulders as she slumped back into the couch.
"Sleep well, my little songbird."
