The room was dark with the only light coming through the closed the curtain from outside I sat up and brushed the hair out of my face, looking around I heard a woman's voice from the kitchen telling me to get up, I couldn't pinpoint why it sounded so familiar but I'd heard it somewhere before like it was a memory moving out of bed I walked towards the window
as I opened the curtain the room was filled with complete light as I looked around at the familiar yet unfamiliar room I wiped the sleep out of my eyes as the door flew open and a woman stood in the doorway
"What are you doing, your Dad will be here soon" she sighed
"Dad?" I asked confused
"Elle, are you feeling okay?" she asked concerned moving towards me
"Ah yeah fine…" I answered unsure of what to say as I tried to understand why she was calling me Elle
"Well your Dads on his way so go get a shower in before he arrives" she said kissing my forehead as she moved back and picked up the dirty clothes off the floor
"Sure…" I answered softly as I picked up the towel on the back of my chair and moved towards the bathroom, stepping inside I turned on the light and was shocked to see someone else staring back at me in the mirror
"What the hell…" I said softly as I reached out the reflection copied my movements. I turned on the tap and threw some water over my face as I looked into the mirror again I sighed, what was going on…
The person looking back at me was tall and skinny with bright blonde hair and ocean blue eyes this was not what I looked like, had I crossed over into some alternate reality and taken over the personality of someone else?
Surely not, that's not possible?
The person I saw in the mirror every day was short, overweight with brownish hair and green/blue eyes, and the woman she just seems so familiar I couldn't put my finger on it…
"Come on Elle!" her voice yelled as I turned on the shower stripping of my clothes I stepped inside as I began to wash away at whatever was happening.
Making my way downstairs 15 minutes later I saw the back of a man talking to the blonde woman as she passed him a piece of toast
"Hey Kiddo" he smiled at me as I stopped next to him
"Hey…" I hesitated
"Dad…" I finished as he looked at me strangely
"Right…" he answered as the woman placed a plate in front of the chair next to him
"Eat up, you're going to need it" she smiled
"Ah thanks…" I said softly as I looked down at the piece of toast that was covered in jam
"Can I have some coffee?" I asked without thinking as they looked at me strangely
"Since when do you drink coffee??" he said looking at me confused
"um…" I began saying
"Elle you're 10, you've never even tasted coffee" she said softly
"10?" I replied
"Yes… Are you sure you're feeling okay, your acting strange" she said crossing her arms with a concerned look on her face
"Yes I'm fine!" I answered quickly at I took a bite out of my toast they looked at me confused
"So you're Mum's going to meet us at the docks and then we'll head off" he smiled as he wrapped an arm around the blonde
'Mum…' I muttered to myself as I looked over at her I saw the person in the mirror staring back only she had green eyes
"Sounds great" I answered through the silence unsure of what they were talking about
"I've got your present on board so I'll pick it up and meet you at the docks" she smiled at me
"Present?" I said confused once more
"Okay… Have you hit your head or something?" he asked me as he moved towards me placing his hand on my forehead
"Why would you think that?" I asked trying to play it cool as I pushed his hand away
"Today's your 10th Birthday" the woman shrugged
"Right, I knew that and we're going…" I hesitated
"To meet the crew at the park" she continued
"Yes the crew including…"
"2Dads, Bomber, Bird, Charge and Dutchy" he continued looking at me strangely
"Of course…" I answered moving to stand
"Ah Elle…" she said as I stopped to face her
"Yep?" I asked
"Your toast" she pointed to the half-eaten piece as I moved back towards the bench and picked it up taking a bite out of it
"Thanks…" I smiled as I quickly moved towards the stairs stopping behind the wall as I heard them talking as I watched on in confusion.
"I'm worried about her…" she said softly as he pulled her into a hug
"Kate, she's in double digits now she was bound to get a bit distant from us sooner or later" he said rubbing her back in comfort
"Mike she's our little girl" she said softly
"I know and she always will be" he replied kissing her forehead, I'd seen enough I quickly escaped up stairs and sat on the end of my bed as the name Kate and Mike ran overtime in my head, I couldn't help but feel the familiarity to the names and the two people standing downstairs who claimed to be my parents and who kept calling my Elle, my name was Sarah and I had no clue where I was.
Walking along the docks with the man 30 minutes later I looked along at the ships in confusion it was like I'd seen this place before
"Dad?" I said reluctantly as we stopped he turned to face me
"Yeah Elle?" he asked
"What is this place?" I asked as he looked at me confused
"Okay now I'm convinced your Mum was right, you've definitely knocked your head" he said concerned
"I'm fine…" I answered quickly
"Are you? Because you've been coming here since you were a baby" he shrugged as I looked at him surprised
"This is where your Mum works, as a Commanding Officer"
"A Commanding Officer?" I asked
"Yes…" he said softly
"As in the Navy Commanding Officer?" I continued
"Your Mum's been one since you were 3, you seriously don't remember" he said as I spotted the blonde woman making her way over with a present in her hand, I shrugged not sure what to say as she stopped next to us the man placed a kiss against her lips as she turned to look at me I smiled
"Ready to go?" she asked as he took her hand in his
"Yep…" I just answered as we began walking along the docks towards a local park.
"Happy Birthday Elle!" a brown haired woman yelled as she ran over and pulled me into a hug
"Thanks…" I smiled as I tried to not seem uncomfortable as she pulled away before holding my hand as she walked me over to everyone Mike and Kate followed behind whispering to each other.
"Hey it's the birthday girl!" another red haired woman said smiling from her spot in a picnic chair where she had a little boy sitting in her lap who smiled at me
"Happy Birthday Elle" he grinned as I smiled back at him, I turned back to look at the blonde woman as she smiled at me before making her way over
"You okay?" she asked softly stopping next to me, the present she had in her hands had been now handed to Mike
"It's just…" I muttered as she knelt next to me
"What?" she said in a soft voice
"I don't remember…" I replied as I looked at her sadly
"Elizabeth?" she replied placing a hand on my shoulder
"I thought my name was Elle…" I blurted out
"Yes Elizabeth Louise Flynn, Elle for short" she shrugged looking at me closely
"Flynn…" I muttered as she brushed a piece of hair behind my ear in comfort
"Why don't you go play with Timmy, while your Dad and I help with the food preparation" she smiled
"Timmy?" I asked even more confused
"Your cousin" she said pointing to the little boy who was sitting in the red heads lap
"Right yes I'll go do that…" I said softly as I smiled at her she pulled me into a hug I instantly felt warm and comfortable
"Love you Elle" she said kissing my cheek as she pulled away from the hug I smiled as her before making my way back over to the boy and the red head.
I watched them afar as they would continually looked my way we'd had a BBQ for lunch and after opening my present I guess it was time for cake, sitting at the small picnic table they placed a ship cake in front of me I smiled at it as they all started singing as I looked around at the bright and happy faces as my eyes stopped next to me I looked at her bright green ones she was tearing up as reached out and pulled her into a hug as I began to tear up myself,
I don't know why but I felt such a connection to this woman such a closeness as she pulled away she brushed her hand across my cheek as I sat back down and blew out the candles on the cake everyone clapped and cheered.
We spent most of the day playing games in the park and before I knew it we'd gone home and I was curled up on the couch between Mike and Kate,
"Did you have a good day Elle?" he asked me as he had his arm over the back of the couch
"It was great!" I smiled widely
"And your presents?" she said brushing a hand through my hair
"There's so many" I grinned looking at the presents who were currently taking up a spot next to the front door
"Right time for bed Kiddo" he said nudging my shoulder
"But…" I sighed
"Not but's you've got school tomorrow" he answered as I turned to face him
"Can Mum put me to bed?" I asked hopeful as he smiled
"Of course" he replied moving forward as he placed a kiss on my forehead
"I love you Dad" I said as I quickly wrapped my arms around him in a tight hug
"I love you to squirt" he said rubbing my back before I let him go and looked at Kate
"Go put your Pj's on I'll be up in a minute" she smiled at me as I nodded before moving off the couch and running upstairs to my room.
I was sitting in bed as she made her way in 5 minutes later
"So you had a good day?" she asked sitting on the bed near my feet
"A great day" I smiled at her
"I got to say I was a bit worried considering the way you were acting this morning" she answered moving forward as she sat next to me I shifted into her embrace as I rested my head against her chest
"I'm okay, I think it was just an exciting day and I wasn't really paying attention" I said softly as she brushed her hand through my hair my eyes started to droop shut
"Tomorrow is another normal day so you can relax" she smiled
"Can you sing me a song?" I asked moving my head to look up at her
"Every night I sing you a song, why are you asking now?" she said confused looking down at me
"I didn't want you to forget" I replied quickly as she placed a teddy in my arms as she smiled
"What do you want tonight?" she asked softly
"Um…" I said as my mind went blank
"You decide" I answered quickly as I moved to lay down she continued to brush her fingers through my hair
"Okay…" she said as she shifted to lay down next to me leaning on her elbow
"I love you Mum…" I muttered as she began singing 'Can we still be together, with our arms around each other' my eyes slipped shut and I fell into a deep sleep.

I heard loudly next to me and reached across the bed turning off my alarm sitting up I looked around the room to see a room I remembered with my Peacocks items all around turning I faced the wardrobe door that was 3 giant mirrors I smiled sadly as I looked at my reflection I was back in front of me was the short, brown haired, overweight, green/blue eyed person staring back at me.
Throwing my legs around to the side of the bed I placed them on the ground as I looked across at the DVD sitting on my set of draws reaching for it I picked it up and grinned
"Un bloody believable, watching Sea Patrol before bed as really began to overtake my dreams" I said shaking my head
"Oh good you're awake" a grey haired woman said standing in the opening of my doorway
"Yeah just getting up now" I smiled at her
"I'll wait for you in the lounge I'm leaving in 5 minutes so get dressed" she answered closing the door behind her as imagines flashed through my mind
'A 10 year old, Mike and Kate, Boats' turning back to face my bed I placed the DVD down as I spotted a unfamiliar teddy in Navy attire reaching for it I looked at the tag it said 'FLYNN' looking at it confused I placed back down on my bed
"But I thought it was just a dream…" I said to myself as I sighed,
Did I really just travel to an alternate universe and become my favourite character's child from a TV show I watch constantly? I thought to myself
"Come on Sarah! Your appointment is in 10 minutes" my Mum yelled from down the hall
"Coming!" I replied as I took one last look at the DVD case I could have sworn Kate winked at me, blinking a few times in confusion I made my way towards the bathroom to get dressed as he smiled widely hoping if it was true I could return in my next dream.
So this is actually a dream I had the other night and just wanted to get out there, its a once off but I hope you enjoy it... Other story I'm still working on and will update tomorrow. Much love Xx
