It was a normal day at Goode High School, which was where the Greek demigods went to school at in Brooklyn, New York. Having just fought in the Second Titan War, where Kronos and his army were defeated, the demigods were living the mortal life with their friends and siblings. However, they were not the only school with demigods in the Boroughs, however. In Manhattan, there was another high school called New Rome High School, where Roman demigods went to school. Both schools were at each other's throats in sports competitions, and there was bad blood between the two schools.
Up on Mount Olympus, the gods watched the bitter rivalry of the two schools. Most of the gods absolutely loved the banter between the 2 schools, while others, like Athena, Hestia and Poseidon and Hera watched with distaste. Meanwhile, Artemis, Demeter and Hades were attending to their duties, so they were unaware of the issue. So the few who loathed the rivalry between the two schools came up with a secret plan that they put into action after the two schools faced each other in football. In the first quarter, a son of Mars intentionally targeted Damien White, son of Nemesis, in the head and effectively knocked him out cold. It was then that Hestia called a meeting with the other mature deities.
"Why did you call between the four of us, Hestia?" Poseidon asked politely.
"It's obvious, Kelp for Brains" Athena rolled her eyes at him. "This is a meeting to discuss about the rivalry between the Greeks and Romans, isn't it?"
"Yes," Hestia agreed, her face extremely solemn. "And I have an idea to put an end to it."
"But how, sister?" Hera inquired. "And although I hate what is going on, why are you treating it with the utmost importance. Besides, if this important why don't we address it to the rest of the counsel?
"Zeus has closed off Olympus" Hestia stated, her eyes darkening.
"And now, while we are vulnerable the…"
"BEHOLD" a deep voice rumbled. "I AM MOTHER EARTH ITSELF!"
"Oh no", Athena muttered. "No, No No…"
"SOON, THE GREEKS AND ROMANS WILL SLAUGHTER EACH OTHER, AND YOU ANTS WILL BE THE FIRST TO WATCH ME TEAR APART BRICK BY BRICK!"
Poseidon was about to faint, when Athena caught him. He smiled gratefully at her. "Thanks Thene".
You see, all the other gods still think that Athena and Poseidon are still rivals, but they are actually really good friends and having gotten over the incidents that kept them apart.
"So yeah," Hestia continued, terrified of her grandmothers' evil voice promising danger. "Gaea is manipulating the Romans and Greeks to make them destroy each other, and while that happens the giants who are going to be led by Porphyrion will try to siege Olympus and dominate us."
"Not to mention we need a god and a demigod to defeat a giant" Athena added.
"Which brings me to my plan," Hestia said. "We send the leaders of both schools who can create peace between both camps. So we send young Perseus to New Rome High, and send Jason Grace to Goode High School because they are both kids that can make peace between the two sides."
"I like the plan," said Hera, and Poseidon and nodded his head in agreement.
"But what if Father knows?" Athena questioned. "What if he forbids us from executing this plan and tries to punish us? He doesn't like it when people try to do things behind his back."
"Don't worry Owl Head, my brother is a lazy idiot who sits on a throne and calls hot women everyday. He probably won't even realize what we are trying to do," Poseidon reasoned, and Athena had to agree. "Besides, he won't take action until the giants are on the footsteps of Olympus."
"So, do we have a plan now?" Hestia asked, and they nodded their heads and flashed out to attend to their duties.
