Frankie stood in front of her mirror in her bedroom, adjusting her costume for the high school dance. She was wearing a blue silk dress with a white stripe down the middle and a pink belt with a heart-shaped buckle as well as a pink tiara. She was very excited to be going to the dance with her friend, Cole. She and Cole had known each other for a while as friends, but this was their first romantic date. She had just finished making her final adjustments when she heard a knock on her bedroom door. "Come in", she said. The door opened and her mother, Dr. Sigourney Gaines, walked in. "Almost ready, Frankie?", she asked excitedly. "Yes, mom", Frankie replied. "I'm going as Nella the Princess Knight. My heart shines bright, it's time for me to be a princess knight." Sigourney smiled and said, "Oh, this is so exciting, you and Cole together on your first real date. My first-born daughter is all grown up and navigating the roads of romance." Frankie smiled and replied, "I know, mom. I just hope I don't stand out too much." Sigourney replied, "I'm sure you'll fit right in, Frankie."

Pretty soon, Frankie's younger sister, Jenny, showed up and announced, "Frankie, Dad has sent me to tell you that your friends are here." Both Frankie and Sigourney looked at each other excitedly and walked briskly downstairs to greet Cole as well as Frankie's other friends, Cole's sister, Dayton, and his best friend, Byron. When they got downstairs, Cole, Dayton, and Byron were already there waiting for Frankie. Pretty soon, Will Gaines, Frankie's dad, soon turned to them and said to Frankie, "As you can see Frankie, your friends are here, and I must say they're quite an eclectic bunch." Frankie and Sigourney were in amazement over everyone else's costumes. Cole was wearing blue jeans with a long-sleeved white shirt with a red parka vest over it and a patch with a paw on it sewed onto the parka vest and he had a two-way radio clipped to his belt. Dayton wore a blue short-sleeved shirt with a pink collar and a red and yellow skirt with blue leggings and pink and yellow shoes, and she had a toy blue hair dryer and a blue comb clipped to her waist. Byron was wearing an orange shirt with a lightning bolt emblem on it, blue jeans and brown leather shoes and he had a mock tool belt with a wrench and screwdriver on either side. Sigourney then asked the trio what they were going as and Cole quickly replied, "I'm glad you asked. I'm Ryder of the Paw Patrol. No job's too big, no pup's too small. If you ever have a problem, just yelp for help." Dayton then added, "Can't forget me. I'm Sunny Day. Keep smilin', keep stylin." Byron then finally added, "And last, but not least, I'm Rusty Rivets, and I'm ready to modify, customize, and rustify." Sigourney smiled in amazement and said, "Well, seems we've got quite a motif here." Will smiled himself and added, "You're quite right, Sig, the Nick Jr. brigade." Everyone laughed and Byron then announced it was time for them to go. They said their goodbyes to the adults and Jenny and headed on their way to the school dance.

At the school dance, everyone was wearing a costume of some sort. The four friends had just arrived when they were greeted by Tammy and her friends, Lucia and Makayla. Tammy was wearing a pink genie's outfit with her hair in a two-way ponytail and dyed blonde, while Lucia and Makayla were respectively dressed as a blue jay and puffin in flight suits with Lucia's being orange and Makayla's being green. The three smiled at them, and Tammy said proudly, "It's so nice to see you guys as fellow Nick Jr. characters. The three of us are also joining the Nick Jr. brigade." Frankie then asked them what they were representing, and Tammy smiled and replied, "Glad you asked, Frankie, I'm Leah, a genie in training who come all the way from the land of Zahramay to grant your three wishes of the day. Shimmer and Shine, wish granted divine." Lucia and Makayla then chimed in. "Don't forget us as well. I'm Swift," said Lucia, and Makayla added, "and I'm Brody." Then the two said in unison, "and we're from Top Wing. It's time to earn our wings."

Pretty soon, the dance started with a slow song and Frankie and Cole and Dayton and Byron and all the other couples began to dance. Frankie and Cole held each other very closely, and as the song came to the middle part, Cole leaned in to kiss Frankie on the lips. At first, Frankie didn't know what to expect, but as soon as Cole and Frankie's lips met, Frankie could feel a shiver she had never felt before. As the song played on, Frankie and Cole began holding on to each other tighter and tighter, and Frankie thought to herself, "I've found my soul-mate, the man I want to spend the rest of my life with." Cole, for his part, thought to himself, "I found my soul-mate, the future mother of our children, the woman who I'd move mountains to protect her." Pretty soon, the song ended, and Frankie and Cole broke contact and applauded with everyone else.

After a few more songs played, the disc jockey announced that it was time for the best costume contest. Everyone would be allowed to vote on who they felt had the best costume through a voting app. Everyone went to cast their votes. Pretty soon, the DJ announced that all the votes were tallied up and they were ready to select a winner. There was a drumroll playing, and when the DJ opened the winning envelope, Frankie and Cole's names were called. The two went up on stage to collect their award, and they also found at that they were also getting a prize of a movie of their choice.

Pretty soon, the dance was coming to an end. Cole walked Frankie back to her house. They had not yet got there when the front door swung open and Sigourney said to them excitedly, "Well, how did the dance go? Anything monumentous happen there?" Frankie smiled and said, "Yes, there was, Mom. There was a contest for best costume, and Cole and I won it." Mr. Gaines smiled and said, "What was the prize?" Cole replied, "Well, Mr. Gaines, the prize was a movie of our choice." Mr. Gaines then asked them what movie they were going to see, and Cole replied, "Well, Frankie and I have talked it over, and we have both mutually chosen to see Jane. Sigourney smiled and said, "Ah, yes, Jane. Very interesting choice." Jenny then asked puzzlingly, "Jane? Is that some weird kinky movie?" Sigourney shook her head and said smiling, "No, Jenny, Jane is a very informative documentary from National Geographic about the life and times of legendary primatologist Jane Goodall." Pretty soon, it was time for Cole himself to head home and for Frankie to turn in for the night. Cole said his goodbyes to everyone and Frankie and Jenny went upstairs to get ready for bed. As Frankie laid down for the night, she felt pleased that she and Cole loved each other very much and that they would never be apart.
