OK, disclaimer. It probably will be for the whole story because I'll forget to add it in. I'm not Rick Riordan, none of this is mine. If you needed me to tell you that - geez, why'd I be on here? Anyways, not canon with Trials of Apollo, maybe slightly OOC because I'm new to this. With all that out of the way, let's go!
Piper's POV:
It was right after the Giant war. Leo had come back - Piper would thank the gods, but she knew they had nothing to do with it - with Calypso no less. The seven were relaxing on the beach, glad to finally have some time to rest. Things weren't quite normal - the nightmares and panic attacks would probably never fully go away - but life was good, better than it had been since she had learned she was a demigod anyways. Piper looked at her friends, currently playfighting and building sandcastles. They looked so much like normal teenagers, it was hard to imagine what they had all done. But apparently the fates really hated them, because just as Piper relaxed and appreciated the normalcy, the group was enveloped by a blast of golden light.
Once the spots in her vision cleared, Piper found herself in a completely different place. She was on what looked like Olympus, but not the one she knew. It looked nothing like the fresh, clean place she saw in the photos in Annabeth's scrapbook. The Olympians around her looked different too - more formal, wearing traditional Greek garb. And they looked very surprised. When Piper looked around further, she saw her friends - the seven, Nico, Thalia, and Reyna, all looking just as confused as her. Zeus rose from his throne. "What is the meaning of th-" He was interrupted by the sudden arrival of three old, shriveled ladies with knitting needles. Even the gods looked surprised. "The fates …" she heard Percy breath.
"Hello heroes," one chuckled. "And Olympians," another croaked. "These demigods are from the future, here to teach you a lesson," the third now spoke. "These are the greatest heroes to ever live" the first took up the conversation. Ares sniggered. "These heroes? They couldn't kill a fly!" Jason's jaw tightened. "The real heroes are Heracles! Perseus! Jason! Odysseus! Theseus!" Percy's eye twitched. The fates laughed humorlessly "I think you will find" "That these heroes" "Have done everything those did and more." The fates gestured, and the previously named heroes appeared in the throne room, dazed.
The fates smiled eerily. "State your names, heroes of old and new. And those of new - not the godly parent too," Leo snickered at the rhyme. "The gods will need to guess their child. Then, Olympians, see for yourself what your children have done. Name it - anything you can imagine - and they've probably done it. And it's impossible for anyone to lie right now. Oh - one last thing, some of these are Roman." The fates vanished in a puff of smoke. Piper noticed the gods didn't flicker, so she guessed they were more united in their aspects at this point. Leo was the first to break the silence. "Oookaaay. Let's get this over with, we'll all probably hate it." "Why?" Heracles bragged. "Scared? Ha! Like you wimps have done more than me, Heracles, strongest demigod ever." Piper had to stop herself from throwing herself at him. Percy didn't - he screamed and would have attacked if Annabeth hadn't held him back. "Look, I know you hate him. I do too. But not here and now, OK?" Heracles looked confused. Before he could start ranting about his awesomeness, Hermes stepped in. "So! Introductions, right? Old heroes first!" Heracles stepped forward. "I am Heracles, son of Zeus, best demigod ever!" Percy growled, and the futures rolled their eyes. Perseus groaned and pushed him away. "I'm Perseus, also son of Zeus, sorry 'bout my arrogant half-brother." "I am Theseus, don't ask who my father is." "Why?" Leo whispered. "Tell you later," Annabeth whispered back. "I am Odysseus, favored by Athena." "I am Jason, not a demigod." "So, heroes of the future," rumbled Zeus. "Introduce yourselves, and we'll see if we can guess who your parent is - though why we need to waste time on such childish games, I don't know." Piper didn't know either. Hadn't they been through enough? Why couldn't they catch a break! She heard Percy muttering something along those lines under her breath. Well, better get it over with.
"Piper McLean." "Leo Valdez." "Jason Grace." "Hazel Levesque." "Frank Zhang." "Percy Jackson." "Annabeth Chase." "Nico Di Angelo." "Thalia - do I have to say my last name? Fine - Grace" "Reyna - do I? Ugh - Avila Ramirez-Arellano."
Athena's POV:
Alright. A guessing game. Athena loved guessing games. As she studied the group, she could see some clues to who was who's child. One of them had the grey eyes and calculating expression of all her children - hers. Another's kaleidoscope eyes marked her as a likely Aphrodite child, though her clothes didn't look like it. Another was a spitting image of Poseidon - Athena narrowed her eyes - and was holding her daughter's hand. The horror! One child was wearing all black, with a Stygian iron sword and a skull ring. Athena almost rolled her eyes - such a stereotypical son of Hades. The others were trickier. One's twinkling eyes and mischievous expression made him look like a child of Hermes, but as Athena watched him unconsciously dipped into his tool belt, building a small helicopter. That, and the machine grease covering his outfit, made him seem like a child of Hephaestus. Two of them looked nothing like siblings, though their last name, Grace, was the same, Athena remembered. Their appearance gave no clue to their parentage. It was the same with the buff Asian boy, black girl with gold eyes, and regal-looking dark-haired girl. Athena coughed to bring attention to herself.
"Annabeth Chase - mine. Percy Jackson - Poseidon's. Nico Di Angelo - Hades'. Leo Valdez -" she paused as the helicopter flew over her head. Definitely Hephaestus then. "Hephaestus'. Piper McLean - Aphrodite's. The others do not possess any distinctive physical features to determine their parentage." She watched the ones she named nod with some satisfaction. "Yeah," the one she remembered as Jason said, "I doubt you could figure it out. Should we say?" The gods nodded. "Me - I'm a son of Jupiter. My sister Thalia is a daughter of Zeus -" Hera turned to Zeus and started yelling, Jason waiting patiently. "As I was saying, Reyna is a daughter of Bellona -" "A minor goddess," Heracles snorted. "I'd like to see you say that after she beats you up," Jason growled. "Anyways, Hazel is a daughter of Pluto and Frank is a son of Mars." Romans, Athena held in a snort. She figured they must be useful or else they wouldn't be here. And maybe, her statue would be found at some point? It was millennia from now, it must have been. "Okay, how should we do this?"
What do you think? Constructive criticism welcome.
