One minute, everything was as expected. Late at night, Pietro and Wanda Maximoff struggled to escape the mutant task force. With Pietro's superspeed and Wanda's psycic powers, they were pretty high on the government's most wanted, especially who their father was. It wasn't easy. Sometimes, it wasn't even bearable. But it was normal. That is, until that fateful day.

Thunder woke Wanda up. She turned around to find herself in a train cart. Outside in the night, the rain poured down fast like bullets. Across from her is her twin brother, Pietro.

"Is something up, sis?" asked the young man with silver hair.

"Sorry. Guess I drifted off for a bit."

"I get you. I mean, I don't like this idea."

"We don't have a choice, Pietro. Ever since the MTF found out who our dad is, we can't go anywhere without being recognized. Our only choice is to move on to Canada where they won't reach us."

"I know, Wanda. I know. That doesn't mean I have to like it."

Suddenly, Wanda felt a strange feeling on her left temple. She gave it a quick rub.

"Something wrong?"

"I don't know. Something feels…"

Suddenly, before the twins eyes, everything faded to black. When everything became clearer, literally everything changed around them. What was once a train was now a village square full of people and demihumans walking past each other like nothing was wrong. What was once a rainy evening was now a bright, sunny day with barely a cloud in the sky. The entirely new setting stunned the both of them.

"Um… what just happened?" Pietro asked.

"I don't know." Wanda said. "I don't think we're in New York anymore."

"New York?" asked a new voice.

Wanda and Pietro looked behind them to see a Japanese boy about their age standing there. He was wearing a black and white tracksuit.

"Um… hello." Pietro said.

"Did you say you're from New York, as in America?" the boy asked.

"We were." Wanda said. "We were leaving when, suddenly, we found ourselves in this strange place. Where are we?"

"I don't know. I was in Japan, leaving a convenience store. Next thing I know, I'm standing here right behind you two. Who are you?"

"I'm Wanda. This is my brother, Pietro."

"What about you, pal?" Pietro asked. "What's your name?"

"Right! My name is Natsuki Subaru! Not only am I clueless, but I don't have a yen to my name! Nice to meet you!"

"Are you actually proud of that?" Pietro asked.

"So where do you think we are?" Wanda asked. "It's all really strange here."

"Hmm." Natsuki Subaru pondered. "This is like an isekai."

"I say what now?" Pietro asked.

"Haven't you ever seen an anime about when someone gets sent to a fantasy world by strange means?" Subaru asked. "I think this is like that."

"Holy cow, we picked up a nerd." Pietro complained in his mind before speaking up.

"So what exactly happens in an… isekai, I believe you call it." Wanda asked.

"Well, we usually stroll through town exploring and learning the lore of this new world. Then, we come across a situation when, out of instinct, we unlock some secret broken superpower."

The Maximoff twins looked at each other suddenly. They exchanged nervous faces.

"Right! So follow me!" Subaru said as he started marching along. "I'll lead the way to adventure!"

"Adventure's the last thing we want." Pietro said. "This is either going to be a disaster, or a complete waste of our time. We already risked our necks for the X-Men. We're not going to seek adventure with some plain-looking nobody."

"That's a little harsh, but I do see your point." Wanda said. "We were leaving America to get away from all that excitement. Let's just…"

"Look after him."

Wanda stopped talking when she heard those words. It sounded like it came from a seductive female voice. She looked behind her and saw no one behind them.

"You okay, Wanda?" Pietro asked.

"I… Did you not hear that?" Wanda asked.

"Hear what?"

"I need you to look after Natsuki Subaru."

"What about Subaru?" Wanda asked.

"I didn't say a word about that dweeb." Pietro said.

"Not you." Wanda asked. "I… I heard someone talking."

"I didn't hear a thing."

"Well, I think it's saying we need to stay by Subaru's side." Wanda said.

"Now, I know you're losing it." Pietro said. "Why would…"

Without hesitation, Wanda ran toward Subaru's location. Pietro groaned, rolled his eyes, and followed.

The twins caught up to Subaru in front of the apple stand.

"Are you going to buy an apple or not?" the vendor asked.

"Subaru." Wanda said as she and her brother caught up. "So, hypothetically…"

They were interrupted when they heard something crash. Two men stood above a broken, wooden crate with fruit spilling out. One man apologized to the other for bumping into him. Subaru, Pietro, and Wanda continued their conversation down a nearby alleyway.

"As I was saying, if this was like one of your anime, what happens next?"

"I cannot believe we're indulging this." Pietro complained.

"Well, it varies." Subaru said. "I guess…

"Hey, boys, look what we found."

The three looked ahead and saw three shady men approaching them. One was short, one was dirty, and the other was big.

"Oh, I know what this is!" Subaru declared. "These guys will try to mug us."

"Really, professor?" Pietro asked sarcastically. "I thought they were going to give us cookies."

"All right, wise guy." The dirty thug said pointing a knife at Pietro. "Why don't we start with you?"

"Try it, buddy. See what happens."

Suddenly, a new figure leaped up above the thugs. It landed in between them. The figure is revealed to be a small girl. Her face indicated she was in her early teen years. She had blonde hair and had leather rags for clothes.

"So what's the plan here?" Pietro asked. "Throw in someone so adorable, I wouldn't want to attack. 'Cause I'll be honest, it's working."

"Hey, she's not with us." The leading thug said. "Judging by the way she's dressed, I guess she's from that slummy village."

"Yeah, I'm just passing through, so if you don't mind…"

The girl jumped up and climbed over Pietro's head much to his surprise. She then jumped off of his back and ran up the walls.

"Oh, that little spidermonkey!" Pietro said. "Be right back!" And in a quick blur, Pietro disappeared leaving a gust of wind in his trail.

"Whoa! What was that?" Subaru asked.

"Look out!" Wanda warned. When the large thug rached out his hands in a strangling motion, Wanda reached out her hand behind Subaru that started to glow red. Suddenly, the thug glowed red as well and floated in the air. Much to everyone's surprise, the thug flung though the air and crashed into his partners. They were nearly unconscious while Subaru just stopped in shock.

"That's amazing!" Subaru said. "Wait. You're from New York, right?"

"Yeah." Wanda said.

"Super speed. Telekinesis. Silver hair. Red clothes." Subaru opened his eyes and gasped for a long moment. "You're Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch!"

"Uh, no." Wanda said nervously. "I think you got the wrong people."

"No, I definitely know that. I just know that you two are amazing and…"

During his talk, the leading thug with the knife approached from his fallen buddies. He slowly approached the two while they were too busy talking to each other to pay attention.

"Why didn't you say something?" Subaru asked.

"Because it's not important, and me and my brother are trying to get away from it all." Wanda replied. "Look, just…"

They were stopped when they heard a shattering noise. They turned to see the thug stop with crystal shards falling from his back. They disappeared upon impact with the ground. When the thug collapsed on the ground, Subaru and Wanda saw a new girl on the other side of the alley. It was a teenage girl with silver hair and a white dress. They got a quick peak at her pointy ears.

"Are you two all right?" she asked.

"Wow." Subaru gazed in amazement. "Thanks."

Suddenly, in a flash of gust, Pietro suddenly returned to them. In surprise, a white cat floated out of the silver-haired girl's hair.

"Bad news. She lost me."

"Lost you?" Wanda asked. "Pietro, you're faster than anyone. How did you just lose her?"

"Hey, for the record, I grabbed the little munchkin. She then yelled for the guards to save her, accusing me of harassment. They grouped up on me and she escaped into the crowd."

"Nice speed, pal." Those words came out of the floating cat's mouth.

"…Did that cat just talk?" Pietro asked.

"This is Puck." The silver-haired girl introduced. "He's my spirit companion. Did you say something about a… What's a munchkin?"

"I was talking about the little parkour girl that somersaulted through this place." Pietro explained.

"Is that so? Did she happen to say where she was going?"

"Why do you ask?" Subaru asked.

"She stole something from me. It's a little stone with a jewel in the center. It's very important to me."

"Hey, can we help?" Subaru asked. "I mean, you did save our lives."

"I… suppose she did." Wanda said. "I almost didn't see that guy coming."

"Well, I do hate being in debt to a bunch of strangers."

"How about we stop being strangers then?" Subaru asked. "My name is Natsuki Subaru! Not only am I…" He was interrupted when Pietro dashed toward him and covered his mouth.

"Don't embarrass us. I'm Pietro Maximoff."

"I'm his sister, Wanda."

"Nice to meet you all. My name is… Satella." Puck stared at her for a second before turning his smile back to the three.

"Nice to meet you too, Satella." Subaru said. "That one guy said she's probably from some slummy village."

"I think I know where to find one like that." Satella said.

"If it means ending this day quicker, lead the way, elf girl." Pietro said.

"Technically, I'm half-elf."

"Technically, I half-care."

Once the night fell above the poor village they were currently in, Satella communicated with a small group of spirits in the forms of light balls. The other three were amazed by that. The spirits lead the four to a closed-up bar.

"I'll head on inside so we don't scare her." Subaru said. "Wait for me."

"All right, Subaru." Satella said.

When Subaru moved on inside, Satella approached Wanda.

"So where are you all from?" she asked.

"That's… a difficult question." Wanda said. "Let's just say we have to move around because of… public opinion."

Something lit up in Satella's eyes. "You mean like prejudice?"

"Something like that. Do you know what it's like to be born with something and be discriminated for it?"

"…I have some idea. Listen, I need to tell you something."

Suddenly, a loud thud was heard from inside. The three turned towards it.

"What did that idiot do now?"

"I'll head on inside." Satella said. She moved inside to check. Another thud was heard a second after that.

"What's going on?" Pietro asked.

"I don't know, but I have a bad feeling about it." Wanda said as she started to illuminate her hands. "Be ready for anything."

The two of them started to approach the barroom door when…

The entire setting changed again. Wanda and Pietro were stunned to see them standing across Subaru in front of the apple stand. The boy had a terrified look on his face.

"Are you going to buy an apple or not?" the vendor asked.

"What the…" Pietro said. "Wasn't it just…"

They were interrupted when they heard something crash. Two men stood above a broken, wooden crate with fruit spilling out. One man apologized to the other for bumping into him. Subaru, Pietro, and Wanda were both stunned silent.

"Déjà vu." Wanda said. "Subaru, what happened?"

"I…" He replied nervously, as if he was afraid of admitting it. "I…" He took one last gulp and finally decided to come out with it. "I think I died."

Author's Note: This is the fourth part of my Isekai Quartet X series. Sorry if it's not as detailed as some of my other stories. I was a bit in a hurry. I'm trying my best, and this is it. Rest assured, I have plans for this story that I'm sure you're going to enjoy. After this, all that's left is Rising of the Shield Hero, and before anyone can make a suggestion, I already have another topic to pair up with this crossover. Any and all comments are welcome.
