Evy slowly walked toward what would be her new home. She looked at her new guild's name with a smile.
FAIRYTAIL
She could finally do something with her life and the forbidden power that had gotten her family into so many problems. She needed to start fresh even thought she could never run away from all the pain and suffering that she caused. She needed to breathe again and learn to be live with her past as best as she could. She pulled on her guitar case that she carried with her. She went around towns with Cherry-her exceed- and would play for money as long as the getting was good. Sadly, she had to sell her guitar to get money for food. Perhaps that's why she shouldn't have become so attached to it, but then again, she was attached to Cherry and she knew the little kitten could fight his own battles.

"So this is the place?" Cherry asked. He was sitting on her guitar case, most likely tired from the long travel to Magnolia. Cherry looked up towards the sign for himself. He wasn't easily pleased, but if this would finally give them an actual residence and decent meals, then he wouldn't ask for anything more. He would always be loyal to Evy, even if he had to go through the same hell as her. He would do it.

"Yeah, this is the place from what I've heard. All the townsfolk pointed us in this direction. I doubt they would mistake another guild hall for the strongest one in Fiore."

"Fairy Tail." Cherry mumbled to himself.

"I guess we should get to know everyone. We could do with the money."

Cherry agreed. Evy didn't know exactly why she was so nervous about this. Perhaps because she had been alone for so long she was afraid he would mess everything up and get kicked out of the guild in only a few weeks of being there. She could never forgive herself if she did. Cherry needed a place to call home just as she did. Her little white lion was always by her side. She pulled him off her guitar case and fixed his golden bands that pulled his mane into a big white braid that went down his small back nearly touching the ground.

"Play nice," Evy begged. "At least until everyone gets used to us."

"Yes, ma'am." He answered obediently. He was like a little soldier at the moment. Evy took a deep breath, then she pushed the doors open to Fairy Tail. She could feel the eyes on her as she made her way into the building. She didn't expect the place to be so big on the inside. It was . . . amazing. That's the only word she could think of. She tried her best to look professional, but it was becoming harder when she saw the number of members in the guild. She could feel Cherry's fur rubbing against her leg as they made their way to the center of the room.

She abruptly came to a stop as a menacing woman with crimson red hair and some kind of armor that made her look like a fierce warrior. She would definitely try her best to stay on this lady's good side.

"I'm guessing that you are our newest guild member that I have been waiting to arrive. I'm happy you made it here safely. I'm Erza Scarlet, also a member of Fairy Tail if you didn't know. You can speak with the master once he returns from his Council meeting. In the meantime, if you need anything you can come to me." Evy nodded her head as Erza continued to give her the basics of the guild. "How rude of me. I never gave you the time to introduce yourself."

"I'm Evy and this is Cherry, my lion."

"Nice to meet you, Erza Scarlet." Cherry gave a nod towards the tall woman. "This is a nice place you guys have here. When can we begin work." Erza snickered at the exceed's ambitious personality.

"As soon as you get your guild markings and choose a job. But keep in mind that S-Class jobs are only for S-classed wizards." Evy gave a nod of understanding. "Go to the bar and get a drink. You must be parched from the long travel. I'm sure everyone else will introduce themselves. You'll probably even find a partner."

Evy walked towards the bar when Erza left her to adjust. She took a seat on a stool while Cherry made himself at home on her lap. He stretched out and closed his eyes. When she looked back up there was a beautiful white-haired bartender before her.

"Hi, I'm Mirajane. Would you like a drink or something to eat?"

Evy dug through her pockets. She only had 100J and that was supposed to last for a while. At least until they got their first job. She was somewhat embarrassed by the fact that she barely had any money to buy food.

"Don't worry it's on the house. Would you like to get your cat anything while we are at it?" Cherry popped up at the mention of free food.

"Fish. If it's not too much to ask for."

"No, it's no problem at all." Mirajane gave a reassuring smile. She was so nice. The nicest person that Evy had met in a while. "And what would you like... Umm. Actually, I never got your name."

"Oh, sorry. My name is Evy. And I would like pretty much anything you have to offer."

"Right. I'll surprise you."

"Thanks."

Mirajane went to receive the food. Evy took the spare time to scan around the room at the members. Everyone was taking quick glances in her direction, but not yet saying anything. She needed to break the ice or she would be alone forever. Evy stood on top of the bar and raised her voice as loud as it would get.

"What are you doing?" She heard Cherry whisper.

"Hi everyone, I am Evy, and this is Cherry! I would love to get to know all of you if it's okay for everyone of course!" She felt so indifferent by the silence that surrounded her. "Umm, okay. I'll sit down now." She could feel the embarrassment rise to her cheeks now. She just didn't want to be an outsider for once. Maybe that was all she could ever be.

"Here's your food." She laid down the fish first, then the most delicious smelling dish that Evy had ever smelt in her life. She thanked Mirajane before digging in. "Umm, you may want to greet the audience you created behind you."

Evy turned to see what looked to be the entire Fairy Tail guild smiling in her face. She could feel the soup in the dish running down her chin. This was definitely new, and she liked it.

Gajeel entered the guild from a long day of taking jobs. He usually took four to five jobs a day with Pantherlily. At first, he didn't want to overdo it, but Lily seemed to be as into it as he was. It was helping him control the endurance of his magic on Earthland as well. Gajeel looked around the room and was beginning to think that everyone was busy with their own jobs until his eyes adjusted and he saw that most of the guild was overcrowding the bar. Ezra was the only one sitting around in her usual place.

"Did we get some newly favored booze that everyone wants to try out or something?"

"No, we got a new guild member actually."

"I'm pretty sure it's not that exciting. It's just a new member after all." Gajeel leaned against the wall. "No one greeted me like that." Erza pulled the magazine she was looking in away from her face. He could see a smirk on her lip now.

"She's a dragon."

"You're kidding." Gajeel was trying to hide the shock in his voice. The guild would be full of dragons at this rate. Lily headed toward the bar with where everyone else was.

"I'm going to get a look at her. You can stay back her all you want."

Gajeel left out a huff from his nostrils. All he wanted was a drink before he went off his house to get some sleep.

"Did she tell you what magic she wields. She must be pretty damn good to become a member."

"Well, she didn't tell me directly, but since Master Makarov wouldn't be here. He informed me about her instead."

"Hmm. You still haven't answered my question."

"Oh yes, she is a Shadow-Demon dragon."

"A Shadow-Demon Dragon!" Gajeel knew he had failed to hide any bit of shock that he had. He didn't really care anymore. Now he wanted to meet her. How the hell did a woman become a Shadow-Demon Dragon? He would have to see her in action before he could assume anything. The mere name of her magic was so dark that the words alone were powerful, yet some dragons don't know how to control their powers and to become powerful with any form of magic; you had to know how to manipulate it.

"I guess I'll swing back her later. If anyone asks, I'm not home."

"Ok." Erza was happy to get back to the magazine article that she was reading.

*******
Gajeel finally made it to his home in Fairy Hills. They had added on a male home away from the women's' of course. He was happy the pink hair idiot wasn't there to pick a fight with him a the moment. Although, he didn't realize how tired he truly was until he reached for the keys to his room Everyone seemed to be in the guild house or wither doing whatever else they had to do. The Iron Dragon couldn't explain just how ready he was to lay in bed and not be disturbed for a few hours. He went into the kitchen and grabbed a can of booze and downed it quickly before eating the can and heading upstairs. Gajeel swung the door open to his room, letting it slam into the wall. He wished he could fly like Lily sometimes when it came to getting up the stairs to his room.

"Man, I have to get to cleaning this damn place." He looked across the room at the pile of dirty clothes, he had yet to wash for the week, sitting in the unorganized closet. Lily had been on his ass about the dirty room. He was such a procrastinator when it came to those kinds of things. At least Elfman wasn't home yet. He would want to train, play games, and do everything that Gajeel wasn't in the mood for right now. The good thing about sharing a room with the Strauss sibling was that he made Gajeel try new things that he would usually not.

Gajeel shredded his clothing until he was down into his boxers and headed for the bed. He was tired, yet it was hard for him to find the peace to sleep. His mind was racing with ideas and his own creation of how he expected a Shadow-Demon Dragon to look. But he realized he had never met one, so it was hard to imagine it.

"Natsu with flip his shit when he makes it back," Gajeel said to himself. He usually had Lily to listen to him, and respond when one was needed. He would just have to come up with some kind of excuse to meet her.

"Evy. That's the name. Evy." It would be interesting to see her in action, that was for sure. Lucy wouldn't like it considering that she was trying to get him and Levy together. He just wasn't sure he could forgive himself for what he did to her. He just knew that he wanted to protect her from now on. He let out a sigh and relaxed on the soft bedding below him. He began to sleep after the long minutes of his mind refusing to cooperate with him.

The majority of the guild had spoken to her and most of them were still talking over one another trying ask her questions.

"Hey everybody, we're back!" Natsu announced, stretching out. Lucy was behind her chatting away with Levy. She didn't even notice the crowd until Natsu voiced it. Elfman and Wendy had gone with them on their job for some extra cash.

"What's up with the crowd. We got a new member or something?" Natsu asked no one in particular.

"They must be a real man to be this much attention," Elfman added in.

"We have a new Dragon actually!"

"A NEW DRAGON!" Natsu yelled for everyone to hear, even if they weren't trying to. "I have to meet him!"

"Actually it's a woman," Pantherlily said while wondering out of the crowd with another exceed.

"And she has an exceed." Natsu dropped to, the floor to get a better look at the lion. "Your mane is the longest I've ever seen, and you have the coolest red eyes. I guess that's why your name is Cherry."

"I suppose."

"Natsu, I'm sure he doesn't want you touching him like that. You should ask first."
A voice that they hadn't hear before spoke up.

"It's fine actually. Cherry enjoys the affection sometimes. Well, from me anyways." Evy smiled.

"What kind of exceed are you?" Happy asked. He was standing around in the small circle all the exceed has created.

"What is an exceed?"

"Oh yeah, you probably never learned haven't where you came from. I'll tell you all about it buddy." Happy patted Cherry on his back like he was comforting him.

"Believe me, it will be a long story if he has to tell it." Carla rolled her eyes.

"How about we all talk to him about it. We have to get to know him anyway, so why not through this long story. We can go to my house. I'm sure Gajeel is asleep by now." Lily said.

"Sounds good to me as long as I can get some snacks." Happy said.

"Me as well," Clara said.

The group of exceeds began to head towards Fairy Hills, continuing their conversation along the way.

"Hi, I'm Evy." She held out her hand for them to shake pleased. Natsu shook it enthusiastically.

"I'm Natsu, this is Lucy, Levy, Wendy, Grey, and Elfman." They all made individual gestures when he called their names.

"Nice to meet you guys."

"So, what's with the rings around your neck?"
Evy touched her golden rings on her neck. She laughed at the pink haired boy.

"Everyone wore them where I was from. It's kind of a tradition to get them as you age I think. I always take them off to shower though."

"That's manly," Elfman smirked.

"Let's go sit down and talk at a table. It makes me anxious when everyone is so active." Lucy shook as though a spider had climbed onto her body and gave her a chill of fright. The group headed to a table and sat. They chatted while Mirajane brought them meals. Cana slid between Lucy and Natsu.

"So, I see we got a new member. I heard you were a Dragon, but I doubt you are a first-generation Dragon."

"Actually, I was trained by Lamaduonbas, but he disappeared years ago. I haven't seen him since then."

"Our Dragon's disappeared too!" Natsu nearly spilled his drink from the shock.

"Are there anymore Dragon's beside you and Wendy?"

"Well yeah, but I was thinking you would already meet Gajeel. We saw him on the way home, but we stopped to get Levy some books at the bookstore."

"Sorry about that." Levy looked embarrassed. "I had to pick some translation books on the way here for another job."

"I love books actually. I Actually have a photographic memory and I learned over one hundred different languages. I can help you if you'd like?" Evy added, feeling helpful.

"That would be too much to ask from you."

"Maybe you two can go shopping for some books together?" Lucy jumped on the idea of some girl time. "Cana and I can come along too."

"Sounds good to me." Cana drunk from her mug. It was probably full of a mixture of booze by now.

"Have you gotten your first job yet?" Elfman asked while helping Wendy tighten a the new bow she bought in her hair.

"No. Erza says I have to get the guild mark before I can take one."

"Nah, she's just said that to keep you here for a while." Natsu laughed. "Gajeel didn't get his until months later."
That was good to know, maybe she could go ahead and get some money for a place to stay.

"You know, as a guild member, you have an apartment in Fairy Hill. So you don't have to look too far to find a place. Of course, I have my own place so I can focus on my stories. But Juvia doesn't have a roommate and I'm sure she wouldn't mind the company."

They sat and continued to all share stories and get to know Evy. Until Levy spoke up once the evening time hit the horizon.

"I'm going to get going. I have a lot of work to get started on."

"You show Evy to Fairy Hills too. She looks beat." Cana tapped Evy on the shoulder to keep her from dozing off.

"Sure, come on. I'll show you to your room." Levy smiled.

Evy couldn't wait to make it to a place to sleep. She waved goodbye to her newly made friends. She would have never expected to meet other dragons. Or for them to be so friendly towards her. The sunset looked so beautiful. It was the first time she had actually looked at felt a peace like she fitted in somewhere finally.

"Check your wrist," Levy said. Evy looked at her right upper wrist to see a Fairy Tail marking printed on her skin. "Welcome to the family." Levy gave a smile. They remained silent as they walked towards Fairy Hills. They were both tired from the conversation it seemed. Once they were inside, Levy helped her locate Juvia's name and room number. They made it up the stairs down the hall towards Evy's new room.

"Well, this where you get off at. Your key will be on top of the door frame. That's where we keep the second pair in case we get new roommates. Make sure you write your name on the second entry on the room key so no one will be confused. You can come to see me anytime."

Evy nodded as she opened the door to her room and froze. Levy was almost down the hall to the stair when she shouted down toward her.

"Can you tell me where the other Dragon, Gajeel lives?"

"Umm. . . yeah, he lives in the guy's part of Fairy Hill. It's not too far from here. Would you like me to make you?"

"No, thank you. I can find it on my own. You've helped me enough for today. Sorry for the hassle."

"No problem," Levy waved goodbye. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight."

Evy entered her new room and closed the door behind her. She scanned the room and was in bliss with the cleanliness of the room. She walked towards a room which had the name JUVIA written in blond blue letters. The female Dragon turned to next door that was in front of it. She pushed the door open after seeing no indications that anyone else loved there.

Her roommate, Juvia, had made the room cozy with a white bedspread and pillowcases that reminded her of a cloud. In fact, the entire room was white, except the walls and wooden dresser and desks. Juvia must have been some kind of clean freak. Evy honestly couldn't wait to meet her if she was as nice and humorous as the other members.

Evy sat her things down by the corner of the wall and grabbed her key before heading out the door. She had to go get Cherry for tonight. She didn't want him to get lost on the first night. She would never admit that she was a little nervous herself.

She smiled at the words that Levy had said.

"Welcome to the family."
