Game Recaps

Naegi: In Danganronpa: China, Naegi was the loveable underdog from the beginning. On the Fei Long tribe, he was the odd one out, just his luck. After forming a quick alliance with Kirigiri, both were able to rise to the top of their tribe until the merge. At a numbers disadvantage of 6-4, Naegi had to blend in with the numbers to have a chance. Quickly, he and Kirigiri found cracks in the majority 6. With the plan in place, they were able to orchestrate moves to further their games. Naegi was convincing in his words to have Ash, Kanade, and Ritsu switch at the final 10 to force a 7-3, 7-2, and 7-1 vote that propelled the minority into the final 7. Shortly after that, ally Rantaro started a rally against Naegi and Kirigiri. But after Kirigiri won immunity, it looked like Naegi was done for, until Mukuro leaked information that Naegi was going to go home if he didn't find an idol. After searching, he did find said idol on the gate looking over the area. Pulling it out during tribal, they played a 3-0 vote, sending Rantaro home. Naegi knew he had to do something to ensure he made it past the next episode since Kirigiri won immunity again, so after convincing Kanade to flip for one vote, he was kept, sending Ash home. Final 5 time and Naegi won immunity. His closest ally, however, didn't. With no more idols in place and everyone knowing she was a threat, Kirigiri was sent home in a 3-2 vote. Naegi kept loyal to her, however, not sending a vote her way. Naegi was able to immunity his way to the final 2, where he took the win over Kanade in a 6-2 vote.

In Danganronpa: Fans Vs Favorites, Naegi returned as the only winner. Quickly labeled as a threat, he was immediately sent to Exile Island, where he stayed for the first 3 days. After finding the idol there on the 3rd day, he returned to the game where he made relationships with Serena, together, both lead the favorites tribe minority alliance. Knowing he was on the chopping block on day 13, Naegi played his idol, where he was able to turn a 5-3 vote to a 3-0 vote, where Gary was sent home. A tribe swap put Naegi, Gundam, Sonia, and Serena on the same tribe where they immediately allied together and ran the tribe into the merge, even after losing every immunity challenge. A merge at the final 9 didn't put them in power, but Gundam winning immunity and leading the tribe, He was able to pull Zoey from the fans into their alliance for an extra vote to rule the final 9 and 8. At the final 7, Naegi was still loyal to Zoey, Sonia, and Serena. Gundam, however, saw that Naegi was the biggest threat to win again due to his social game. After convincing Zoey and Serena to switch their votes, Naegi and Sonia were blindsided in a 5-2 vote, sending Naegi home.

Kirigiri: In Danganronpa: China, Kirigiri is mainly remembered for her alliance with eventual winner Naegi. However, she was smarter than that. She was the brains of the Naegiri alliance, while Naegi was the heart and social aspect. The minority saw these two as a threat early on, but they were too late as they were both on the bottom of the majority, but it was still the majority. Kirigiri's brain was the main reason Naegi stayed on as long as he did on Fei Long. After making it to the merge, Naegi's social game and Kirigiri's strategic game began to highlight, as she was able to orchestrate the moves to keep the two in the game. Plus, she was a challenge beast, winning all the immunity challenges until the final 5, where she was voted out 3-2. People may ask why she was a hero if she was brains behind the voteouts, well, she never left her alliance partner and number 1 Naegi behind, even knowing she might lose to him in the finale.

Hina: Starting in Danganronpa: Marquesas, Hina wasn't a threat anywhere, except in the water. She was the fastest swimmer in the history of Danganronpa, past and present. Not really being a social threat, she was cheery and upbeat the entire time she played. She was the glimmer of hope on the Rotu tribe. Not really strategic or anything, but a blast to be around. She was kept until the final 3, where she was voted out for having the best social game, even though she was herself.

In Danganronpa: All Stars, Hina played the same kind of game she played last time. No strategy whatsoever, just to be a joy around camp. She was in the majority alliance and was kept on because everyone knew she wasn't a strategic threat. At the final 10, Hina was voted out as a safe vote to ensure a majority now in the minority. Her Hero status is there just as a joy to be around and played with her heart on her sleeve.

Ishimaru: In Danganronpa: Samoa, Ishimaru was the moral compass that the Foa Foa tribe needed. After having the tribe led by his number 1 rival, Mondo, Ishimaru was relegated to leading a rebellion. He was loyal to the end with his alliance even after they were voted off one by one. He was saved, however, by the tribe swap. There, he was able to make an alliance that led the majority until the Merge. There, he and Mondo led opposing alliances until the end of the game. In the final 4, Mondo proposed an alliance with him to get to the final 3, where Ishimaru accepted. Mondo then voted him off, leaving him in 4th place. Never flaking on his alliance, and playing an idol on his ally before him, gave him his hero status.

Hinata: In the first season, Danganronpa: Borneo, Hinata was the main man the entire game. He led the alliance and never was on the bottom. While he was a leader, it wasn't a dictatorship. He led with charisma and a democratic system. This led him to be the best candidate to win that season. In the merge, the entire Pagong tribe took out the Tagi tribe. Which lead to a Pagong final 5. Leading with charm and charisma, Hinata made it to the final 3 as the leader. There, however, he was seen as the threat to win, and was voted out.

In Danganronpa: All Stars, Hinata started out where he left off. He led the tribe off with a flimsy alliance with Hina. There, he was able to democratically make an alliance that lead him into the merge. In the merge. He hit his first speed bump where Hina was voted out. This quickly became a recurring event as his alliance was voted out 6th through 9th. In the final 5, Hinata started on his immunity run where he immunitied his way to the final tribal. There, he won due to his charm, charisma, and social game. A 5-3 final vote proved that. He earned the hero name for being a leader while not being a dictator. Plus his loyalty to his alliance also made him an obvious shoe in.

Chiaki: In Danganronpa: Australian Outback, Chiaki was a big underdog through and through. No one thought she was going to win, even she thought she wasn't going to. Her strategy was based on loyalty and trust. Whoever she trusted, she went with them. This led her to be on the wrong side of most, if not all votes. She only made it to the merge because she was weak, yes, but she also was helpful around camp. It makes it that she was a low threat, but a safe vote. She won immunity once at the final 7, but that was because it was a puzzle. She and Kokochi had a mini alliance, but it lasted until the final 6, where, once again, Chiaki was on the wrong side of the vote. She eventually was voted out at the final 4 as the social underdog. Her Hero status was earned through her loyalty when she had many chances to leave and go to the top, but didn't. The real team player.

Sonia: In Danganronpa: Fans Vs Favorites, Sonia was a fan, where she immediately joined a duo with Gundam. Together, the two ruled the Fans tribe with a majority alliance. Sonia was defiently the brighter side of the duo. She had a striaght forward and honest way to talk to people. She also had a hard time lying. At the tribe swap, Sonia and Gundam swapped to the same tribe, with former winner Naegi and Serena. There, the 4 ruled the swapped tribe. Which lead them to the merge. The final 9 let a 5-4 vote, where Sonia was on the block, almost went home. The final 7 is where the alliance fell. Sonia was left out of the vote on Naegi, leaving her on the bottom of a 6 person alliance. There, she immunitied out to the final 3, where She earned all but one final tribal council vote, winning the season.

Fuyuhiko: In Danganronpa: Fiji, Fuyuhiko seemed to be a traditional villain, running the tribe like a mafia leader almost got him sent home, but the 2 on the bottom of the majority alliance told him he was going to be sent home. A change of 6-4 in the vote with Tyler being sent home instead. From this point on, Fuyuhiko lessened up on his leadership like qualities. This let him sneak up in the majority. He stayed in the majority until the merge, where he made an alliance with a mix of the two tribes, with him leading. This time, more democratically. At the final 7, he was in the minority, and he had an idol. Knowing they'd go for a safe vote, he played his idol on Mikan, where he sent a majority member home. The next episode, however, Mikan joined the majority where Fuyuhiko was then voted off. His hero status is earned for playing an idol on an ally who took him out next episode and his willingness to change his leadership ways from Villain to Hero.

Kaito: In Danganronpa: Tocantins, Kaito was on the majority from day one. He teamed up with Shuichi and both were in power sdisadvantage. On Exile Island, Kaito was able to convince Rikka to make an alliance once they make the merge. There, he'd have Shuichi and Rikka had Yachi. At the merge, Shuichi, Kaito, and Shoyo were at a numbers disadvantage, but the fractured majority and the Exile Alliance, they were able to run the game from the top. They never left the alliance and were always on top. He eventually lost the final tribal council. His Hero status comes from staying with the majority and not trying to shake the game up while also being the most liked around camp.

Shuichi: In Danganronpa: Tocantins, Shuichi started out as the quiet shy type. He didn't talk much the first 2 days of camp, until Kaito came up. There, he and Kaito ran the tribe from the top, with Kaito doing most of the talking at the start. With his confidence growing as the merge happened, he was soaked into the Exile Alliance where they ran the merge tribe. The minority 3 with the 2 from exile ran the tribe. His increased social game from the start to the end and growth as the game went on gave him the win at the end. His Hero status came when, at the final 8, he played an idol on an ally, negating the 3 votes and staying loyal to Kaito, knowing he did play a better game socially.

Maki: In Danganronpa: Gabon, Maki was unemotional and not social what so ever. This did make her not win the game, but her loyalty was enormous. Staying with an alliance, even when the ship is sinking, she made the merge barely. After finding the idol, she played it on an ally in the final 6, and gave individual immunity to another ally in the final 4, where a 2-2 vote forced her to fire. She then won the fire making challenge. She came in second with a 4-2-1 vote where she didn't win, but earned a hero's badge. Her gameplay kept her around as she wasn't seen as a threat. Until the final 6. There, she was given the Hero pass with the immunity moves in the final 6 and 4.

Himiko: In Danganronpa: Pearl Islands, Himiko was immediately targeted. Her lack of doing anything except sleeping made her an easy target. However, her succeeding on puzzles kept her in for the first part of the season. The second quarter of the game led Himiko to create bonds with the remaining members on her tribe. Her social game was surprisingly strong and she started helping out around camp more. This lead to her being one of the biggest changes in the game personality wise. She was able to survive until the merge where she used social bonds to pull her through the rest of the game. At the final 5, it was over for her as her social game couldn't keep her in anymore.

In Danganronpa: All Stars, Himiko decided to make a change in her game. She forced herself to help out more in the initial game and be more strategic. This led her to form alliances and relationships early. Plus, she helped make the shelter for the first time, so it's a new thing for her. Strong bonds made with Hina and Hinata, by association, put her into the merge. At the merge episode, Hina was voted out, which put Himiko on the hot seat. In the end, without immunity, Himiko was voted out 8th. She earned the Hero tab for her dramatic character change for the good.

Komaru: In Danganronpa: Vanuatu, Komaru quickly aligned herself with Ashlee and made a power duo. They ran a minority alliance against a tyrannical leader, and they were able to gather a majority for a vote to get him out. This led to an alliance with Tenko and Kaede. Finding idols, Komaru was the scavenger in the alliance. She found, and correctly played, 3 idols over the course of the season. 2 played for others, one for herself. The alliance with Tenko, Kaede, and Ashlee pushed them through the merge into the final 4. There, Ashlee won immunity and Komaru was blindsided in a 3-1 vote, ending her chances of winning. Her hero badge was earned with her 3 idol play, her loyalty to the alliance, and the dethroning of the tyrant leader.

Mitarai: In Danganronpa: Thailand, Mitarai was the most nervous castaway in the history of Survivor history. He never left camp and listened to whatever the vote was, which is how he played the game. He was just a submissive player. SIKE! He did that for the first half or so at the merge. This is where he finally started to show his wings and play the game. Siding with the minority, he went idol hunting, knowing it's the only way for him and his alliance to stay alive. The best moment was the final 9, where, with a 6-3 disadvantage, Mitarai won immunity and played 2 idols on his allies, which pulled a great move and put him on the threat radar. This didn't continue for long as his allies went home 8th and 7th. He immunitied his way to the final 3 where he got voted out. A Hero badge earned here for the major 2 idol play and a change in gameplay.

Celestia: In Danganronpa: Guatemala, Celestia dressed like a queen, and she played like one. She ruled the game of Guatemala. She used everyone as a pawn to make it to the end. Everyone was expected to respect her or get voted off. She wasn't afraid to pull strings and pull blindsides. This strategy worked as she used fear tactics to keep her alliance in check. The idea got her and her alliance to the merge. Orchestrating blindsides on her alliance in the final 7 and 6 put her in the hot seat to win the season. She ended up second, in the drivers seat, but not respected by the jury. She won a Villains spot for her fear mongering tactics to win and orchestrating blindsides.

Togami: In Danganronpa: Africa, Togami played the game cutthroat. He played both sides of the game. Flipping between alliances vote after vote to better his own game. He burned so many bridges heading into the merge, no one trusted him. He didn't try to rule, he played both sides of the game, making his number a questionable one. At the final four, his time came to an end when the other contestants decided they rather not have him in the final 3. Their reasoning was that while he was a villain, he played a good game. He earned the villain spot for his constant flipping.

Leon: In Danganronpa: Palau, Leon initially teamed up with Sayaka to form a power duo. The two led a minority alliance, which sounds like a hero move. However, Leon was also super cocky. He was arrogant since he "was the best Danganronpa player of all time." This led him to be ostracized from the rest of the tribe. He was kept since he was helpful during the challenges. Come merge time, his alliance with Sayaka was slowly melting. She couldn't stand being with him. He was a challenge beast and won most of the immunities. Which fed his ego. Final 4 time, however, he didn't win. This led him into a fit of how he "deserved to win." This is where, in a 3-1 vote, Leon was voted out by his old ally Sayaka. He earned the Villain spot for being cocky and arrogant and not listening to anyone else's ideas.

Sayaka: In Danganronpa: Palau, Sayaka instantly teamed up with Leon to form the duo to rule the minority. The stereotypical Hero story turned villainous when they got the majority. She and Leon led the alliance differently. Leon cockily, Sayaka sneakily. She started an underground rebellion against her number 1 ally. Everything was looming well, until the merge. There, she and Leon officially split the alliance. With Leon winning multiple immunities, Sayaka had to settle for getting his support out while playing idols for herself. At the final 4, she finally pulled the plug on Leon, after making a deal with him to move him on. She then won the game after dethroning the "King of Palau." She did earn the villain tag for her betrayal of Leon.

Komaeda: In Danganronpa: Panama, Komaeda was the most annoying people to play the game. His entire game was talking about hope. He was helpful, yes. But he was annoying throughout the game. They kept him to the merge just because they knew they could beat him. His annoyance did earn him the villain spot. And the 6th spot in Panama.

Gundam: In Danganronpa: Fans Vs Favorites, Gundam instantly teamed up with Sonia, where the two instantly ran the Fans tribe. Gundam instantly was the darker side of the team. He ran the alliance with little say and was defiently the darker side of the alliance. At the tribe swap, he, Sonia, Serena, and Naegi ran an alliance on a tribe that lost all immunities until the merge. Gundam quieted down here, until the final 7. There, he convinced Zoey and Serena to flip on Naegi, where he went home. Not telling Sonia ruined their relationship. Sonia then went on an immunity run and hurt Gundam's chances to win. He earned the villain tag by ruling the alliance with little say and orchestrating the game changing blindside.

Hiyoko: In Danganronpa: Cook Islands, Hiyoko was immediately a bully. No secret. She called out anyone and everyone she didn't like. No matter the reason. If she didn't like you, she found a way to vote you out. Whether it be by lying or manipulating, she got you out. At the merge is where the titans clashed. Korekiyo Vs Hiyoko. Hiyoko never liked Kiyo. She saw him as disgusting and ugly. After a 5-5 rock draw, Kiyo's alliance gained the majority. There, her alliance fell apart. After an idol play at the final 6, she was saved and sent someone from the opposing alliance home. After that, however. She went home. Her bullying tactics and lying and manipulation sent her to the villains tribe.

Mikan: In Danganronpa: Fiji, Mikan started the game out quiet. He was immediately sided with Fuyuhiko and both quietly coasted to the merge after Fuyuhiko changed his leading tactics. At the merge, however. Mikan then showed her true colors and started an anti alliance against Fuyuhiko. She lied her way and earned power leading the alliance, which blindsided Fuyuhiko's alliance. At the final 7, she joined Fuyuhiko one more time as an idol was played on her, saving her. There, she sniped out Fuyuhiko at the final 6. At the final 5, Mikan won immunity, which saved her. Final 4 didn't go the same way, where she went home. She earned the villain tag for orchestrating the Fuyuhiko blindside.

Kirumi: In Danganronpa: Borneo, Kirumi immediately was the one to help make the shelter and do everything around camp. This kept her around. She also formed strong bonds with her tribe mates. Once the merge hit, she immediately changed her game style. She became more villainous and tried to manipulate her way to the finale. She even tried sweet talking Hinata into keeping her. This however, didn't work, as she went home 7th.

In Fans Vs Favorites, Kirumi decided to change her style immediately. She did help out. yes. However, she was definetly more manipulative. She ran a minority to try and undermine Naegi, who she saw as an immediate threat. Trying to undermine the most popular castaway to date was defiently a bad plan. Once the tribe swap hit, her anti Naegi plan went to dust for now, but the 5-4 numbers advantage heading into the merge was great for her. Except until Zoey flipped on her. This pissed Kirumi into overdrive. There she pulled out all the stops to convince them to flip on Naegi. At the final 7, she managed to convince Gundam to get a majority to vote out Naegi. A 5-2 blindside got her wish. But she wanted more. After that, Zoey and Serena went home. There, she got blindsided before the final tribal. 3-1 vote. She earned the villain tag for trying to undermine Naegi and a convincing wordsmith.

Kaede: Hoo boy. Kaede played in Danganronpa: Vanuatu. She immediately teamed up with Tenko, where they ran the majority alliance. They ran the tribe until the merge. Kaede was the brains behind the duo. She lead to the demise of their entire tribe when they teamed up with Komaru and Ashlee. Her brain led to the blindside of Komaru at the final 4 when Ashlee won immunity. She wasn't that manipulative, but her brain and social game kept her in. Taking out Ashlee at the final 3 led her to win the game. She earned the Villain tag for planning most of the votes and blindsides.

Kokichi: In Danganronpa: Australian Outback, Kokichi was a maker of chaos. He always played the dirty game. He used fear of doing home to rule the game. He was always looking and running out for idols. He never was out of power. From the beginning he ran and found an idol. From that point on, he never was out of power. The power he had he used to his advantage. Ruling the roost until the merge, where he took control there. He found, and played 2 idols for himself, keeping his alliance at bay. Heading into the final 3, he didn't win immunity, and he didn't move on. He earned the villain tag for his chaos caused around camp.

Korekiyo: In Danganronpa: Cook Islands, Kiyo was a quiet villain. Running the game behind a few louder players, he was always a silent villain. He was able to convince the louder players to do what he wanted as he was the smartest player. This led him to run and orchestrate most, if not all, the votes heading into the merge. There, he was able to continue quietly working behind the scenes. The biggest win was when Kiyo's alliance gained majority after a 5-5 rock draw. He began to then dismantle Hiyoko's alliance from there. His quiet nature led him to 4th place as he was seen as a social threat. He earned the villain tag for planning everything behind the scenes.

Tenko: In Danganronpa: Vanuatu, Tenko was a social bomb. She immediately called every male a "degenerate" and was immediately able to form an all female alliance. Tenko was the vocals of the duo. She was the loud one. Heading into the merge, Tenko and Kaede teamed up with Ashlee and Komaru. From there they took out the rest of the opposing tribe, and their tribe. At the final 4, Tenko and Kaede proposed a blindside on Komaru, which happened. From there, she and Kaede made the finale, where Kaede won. Tenko won the villain tag as she was annoying to be around.

Mondo: In Danganronpa: Samoa, Mondo took charge of the Foa Foa tribe. There, he made enemies with Ishimaru, and the stage was set. Mondo took out the opposing alliance and some of his own if he suspected them of anything. He kept Ishimaru, however, as he admired the way he played. At the tribe swap, Mondo kept an iron fist and lead his tribe to the merge, where he and Ishimaru started back where they left off. At the final 4, he proposed an alliance with Ishimaru, where he immediately betrayed him and sent him home. Mondo ended up winning the game. He earned the Villains spot as he played a very cutthroat game and iron fishing his alliance.
