Chapter 1: A new life
This is the story of Benjamin Connors, the deadliest man alive
1982
Startled I woke up, I couldn't get my bearings and it felt like I was in an entirely different world, I couldn't seem to comprehend this development, I mean everything was different and gone and somehow I just knew this, so I did the only thing to come to mind and panicked, I screamed.
Yet the only thing that came out was a loud wailing, this jolted me and when I opened my eyes I was able to notice that my hands were that of a baby, Shit! I was a baby.
I died, vague recollections, going to work, crossing the road and suddenly nothing, but I wasn't dead I was reborn, starting over from the beginning and that was when everything hit me, I had enough and that was when I let it all out.
16 years later
Imagine my surprise when I first realised that I had been reborn in the mcu, yeah it was fan-fucking-tastic, thank fuck I wasn't born in America, I don't think I could cope with a new country after that reveal, still growing up in Ireland on the border during the troubles probably wasn't much better, still I knew Ireland and I knew Europe, so when I was 6 I realised I wanted to become better, to be able to make a change in this world and the idea of a secret World Security Council that can launch a nuclear warhead at New York is quite scary, I threw myself into the world of science and martial arts, I didn't want to be a hero like Iron man, I wanted to follow the likes of Daredevil and Punisher because at the end of the day theylooked after the little guy and the problem with the avengers and SHIELD was they were American, they tended to have a skewed view that they knew how everything should happen and made those decisions for the rest of the world, no I was going to make a stand for Europe
I had one thing up my sleeve, I had parents who had been researching a super soldier serum, now in marvel there's an infinite amount of ways to enhance yourself, the serum seems to be the most popular way in the mcu, so I decided to go the way of the oz serum, I used my knowledge of the human biology along with spiders, because what kid didn't grow up wanting to be -Spider-Man, if I could recreate the circumstances which caused the creation of Spider-Man I would be able to achieve my dream of creating a better tomorrow
The thing with people who want to be heroes is that tragedy always strikes, see the thing with growing up in Ireland during the troubles was the bombings, most were harmless to civilians, key word most, today is the day I lost my parents to a bombing at the age of 16 I was orphaned, I didn't die in the blast but it still caused damage, shrapnel had left a myriad of scars along my face and chest, I also lost my left eye, but today is not the day for pity, it is the day I knew I had to become better now not later, I had finished the serum just the week before and I knew that it could change the face of the world, but the safest hands for such power are still my own, there had been a chamber set up in the basement of the house, I may have wanted to use spiders for the injection of the serum, I couldn't wait for that to be feasible, so I went and prepared the chamber for my use, vita rays were the necessary ingredient to Erskines work, I didn't have them, they were lost after his death, all I knew was it used nitramene, so I had developed my own radiation, which could end badly for me, but sometimes you just got to swing with it and hope, because hope is powerful.
I strapped myself into the chamber and began the countdown sequence, it was the most painful experience in my life, my whole world was on fire, my bodies cells were being ripped apart and rebuilt beyond peak human condition, for what felt like an eternity I was inside that chamber, my throat was raw and my one good eye was red with tears, I plowed through this because, what doesn't kill you simply makes you stronger.
After an hour I had regained consciousness, and boy had the serum worked, I felt incredible, my mind felt like it had been opened up to its maximum potential, I was taller than before standing at just over 6 feet, endless possibilities ran through my mind about what the future held, because today was the day the mcu would be forever different.
