It was a dark and gloomy afternoon. Harry looked outside the window, the weather mimicking his inner thoughts. He glanced at his wedding ring which suddenly felt ten times heavier than it actually was. He sighed remembering the day he decided to come here, this mansion which glitters like gold- a golden cage if someone asked him. Maybe, just maybe, dad was right, was he even allowed to call him that dad any longer?. Him that's what the man who raised him since Harry was a baby was reduced too. Sighing deeply he started to remember that fateful day

Flashback'

Harry stomped away, he was heading to the front door when someone caught his arm. He whipped around coming face to face with the man with long dark hair, his silver eyes livid.

"Where do you think you're going?" he demanded.

"To Tom and have no right to stop me, You're not my father!" Harry said pulling his arm from the painful grip

"I'M YOUR FATHER! Not biological but you're still my son" He said silver eyes filling with sadness. But Harry just scoffed.

"Oh please, you're just my real father's friend who kept me around for his inheritance," Harry said. The older man raised his hand- just then. "Sirius, what the hell are you doing!".Both of them whipped around to see a man with dirty blonde hair standing there with a small child hiding behind his legs.

"Are you even hearing him, Remus? Hearing what poison has filled our son's mind?" Sirius seethed. "All because of that bastard." Remus turned to Harry, eyes pleading. Harry just ignored him

"I'm an adult and I can make my own decision. If you can't give me your blessing, just stay the hell away!" Harry said heading to the door. Just as he was about to exit he heard a voice.

"Harry," called a small, scared voice. He turned and glanced at his little brother

"Goodbye, Teddy," with that Harry left the place he used to call his home.

"If you're going to him, go. I hope you regret every second of it!" This was the last thing his dad— Sirius said to him.

End Flashback

Harry stared blankly at the dull, grey wall, which no longer looked glittering or dreamy as he thought when he first came here. Two weeks, it's been two weeks since Tom went on that trip. No calls or anything. His thoughts got interrupted as an Asian woman entered she was holding a tray of food with a glass of water and some pills.

"Your lunch and your medicines, sir," she said. Harry just stared at her

"Nagini, I'm not sick, I don't need medicine," Harry said but Nagini just looked at him as if she didn't hear what he said

"Yes, you are," She said in a matter of fact tone. "I am tired of arguing about this every time I bring your meals."

Harry felt uncomfortable, Nagini didn't leave. He finished his food and glanced at the pills. Reluctantly he took them, earning a very pleased expression from Nagini. After having the pills, Harry's head started to feel heavy. He touched it.

"N-Nagini, what's happening?" he asked, panicking. But not a single line of worry crossed Nagini's face. Harry sat on his bed with a thump. He got under the covers and the last thing he remembered was Nagini's chilling voice.

"Go to sleep," she said.

When Harry woke up it was already dark outside. His head was pounding as if he was hungover, which was weird. The last thing he remembered was taking those medicines. He heard some noise from outside. With wobbly legs, he got up and went outside. After crossing the hallway, he sees Tom in his some paperwork. When he saw Harry there was no happiness or excitement as there should have been. The dark eyes which once glittered with love on seeing Harry were cold.

"Tom," Harry greeted cheerfully, wanting to go over and embrace him after the prolonged isolation.

"Harry," said the older man curtly. Tom fixed the younger man with a glance and spoke.

"Nagini said you weren't taking your medicine," he said coldly. Harry just shook his head. Two weeks, Tom was away for two weeks and this is the first thing he said to his so-called husband upon his return?

"Medicine for what, Tom? I don't even remember why I'm taking them in the first place!" Harry shouted, throwing his hands up. Tom's eyes narrowed at the display of outrage. He stalked towards Harry till the younger man's back touched the wall.

"You might have talked to your fathers this way, but you'll never raise your voice to me ever again, understand?" Tom spoke in a dangerously low voice. This sent shivers down Harry's spine. With that, Tom stalked away leaving Harry in cold-dreaded fear.

"He's a bad news mate, you should stay away from him." He remembered Ron saying.

"I get a really weird vibe from him." Hermione had said.

"We're your family Harry, we want best for you."

Harry cleared his head as his friends and family's words echoed in his mind. Without getting noticed he seemed to end up in the room that had the phone. He looked around; there was no sign of Tom or Nagini. Quickly he dialled a familiar number not knowing what to expect. After a few rings, someone picked up the phone.

"Hello," said a gentle voice. Harry felt like crying. He wanted to say many things, want to tell papa how miserable he was, to tell him to come and take Harry home. But he said nothing, it was as if his tongue got swollen.

"Hello?" said the voice again

"Remus, who's on the line?" Harry could hear dad saying.

"I don't know, no one is saying anything," Remus replied. With a click, the call got cut. Harry sighed. Just then he heard someone coming. He immediately moved almost a foot away from the phone. Just then Tom entered and eyed Harry suspiciously

"What are you doing?" Tom asked.

"I—I was looking for you, Tom. I—we haven't spent any time together since you came back," Harry said.

"Unlike you, I have work, Harry," Tom said, his voice almost taunting him. Harry had enough.

"Do you think I like this!. Sitting here in your huge mansion like a damn glittering trophy!. My parents don't talk to me, my friends don't talk to me all because of you. Because I chose you!" Harry shouted but Tom remained unfazed.

"I don't have time for these childish antics," Tom said walking away but Harry caught his arm.

"Stop ignoring me!" Harry said. Tom tried to pull his arm away but Harry didn't let go. He pushed the younger man hard, Harry stumbled and fell down with a thud. Tom stormed away.

"Nagini! Didn't you give his medication?" he demanded of the woman.

That night Harry was in his room, The room was his, Tom had been sleeping in a separate room for a while. The room was no longer a romantic abode but a prison cell instead. Just than Nagini came with a tray of food and those pills.

"I'm not hungry," Harry told her. Nagini just grit her teeth

"Eat your food," she ordered. Harry clenched his fists. Glaring at Nagini

"You can't order me around, you are a servant," Harry said. Nagini just smirked, she picked up the fork stabbing herself in the neck, letting out an ear-piercing cry. Harry's eyes widened. He held her hand trying to stop her but she started screaming in a much higher octave. Just then Tom burst in he was livid.

"Harry, what the hell are you doing!" he shouted.

"I was serving food then he did this," Nagini cried.

"No, no, Tom she did all this by herself. I was trying to stop her," Harry argued but Tom got angrier

"That's it, I can't take this madness any longer. I'll take you to the doctor tomorrow," Tom said.

"He needs shock therapy," Nagini said weakly. Harry's eyes narrowed at her fake helpless voice.

"I'm not crazy!" Harry argued. But Tom ignored him.

Harry didn't leave the room at all. At night he snuck out and headed to the hallway. He was near Tom's study and was about to pass when he was stopped in his tracks, he heard muffled voices. The door was ajar, he peered inside. There he saw Nagini sitting on a chair while Tom was nursing her bruised neck. He looked so tender, so caring, it was opposite to how he behaved with him lately.

"How much longer, Tom?" Nagini hissed.

"Patience, my dear Nagini, soon he'll be gone," Tom assured. Nagini just huffed.

"I don't understand, why can't we finish him off?" Nagini asked. Tom just shook his head.

"You know the police will immediately suspect me and then I won't get his inheritance money. But if we prove him mentally unstable, we'll kill two birds with one stone." Tom said his eyes gleaming. Nagini just smirked. Harry felt physically sick. All this time, dad was right about Tom. Quickly he backed away heading towards where cleaning supplies were kept. As he suspected after searching thoroughly, he found the right bottle.

"Two can play this game Nagini," he said in a low voice. He finally had a plan.

The next morning when Tom went out. Harry placed the rose on the breakfast table, he knew Nagini would come there. Then he headed to Tom's study, after searching a bit he found the papers he was looking for. 'Tom isn't as smart as he thinks he is,' Harry thought. He picked up the car keys and ran outside. Starting the car he headed towards what could be his last chance of escape.

Griphook examines the papers while Harry waited patiently. The older man looked up and spoke

"It clearly says that in case anything happened to you, your birth parents' inheritance will go to your chosen beneficiary. Which, in this case, is your husband". Harry just clenched his fists. That bastard tricked him to sign these documents and was making sure he will go insane

"What now Mr Potter-uh Black?" Grphook asked. Harry ponders for a bit then spoke

"I want you to prepare two documents for me," Harry said

Tom was pacing angrily. He found Nagini lying unconscious in the dining room while Black was nowhere to be found. What if that brat went to the police? No, he can't, who'll he ask for help, he has no one. Tom thought, just then the doorbell rang. Tom opened the door coming face to face with a short man dressed in a suit.

"Griphook" Tom sneered. But Griphook was unfazed

"It's Advocate Griphook to you, Mr Riddle, Mr Black has sent this for you," he said handing Tom the envelope. He tore it open pulling out the document. His eyes widened with sock then narrowed

"Divorce papers" Tom managed to say

"Mr Black also pressed charges against you on the grounds of mental abuse" Griphook informed. Tom was seething with anger but he schooled his face

"You can't seriously believe him. He's ill, he has hallucinations, he's mentally -

"Stable, I've talked to him for hours, you can expect a visit from Detective Alastor Moody soon, Mr Riddle," Griphook said with a hint of smugness.

"You little- before Tom could complete his sentence Griphook spoke

"See you in count Mr Riddle" with that Griphook left.

When Remus opened the door he was both shocked and overwhelmed to see the person before him. There stood Harry looking skinner, his hair we're messy, eyes dull dark circles them. Remus was speechless. Harry smiled faintly handing Remus an envelope

"Mail for Mr Black," Harry said in a choked voice. Remus attempted to hug Harry but he backed away. Immediately Remus tore open the envelope reading the letter

I, Harry Black hereby state. if anything happens to me. Half of my inheritance will go to my younger brother, Teddy Black while half of it will be donated to Wool's Orphanage

Shocked, Remus ran outside while Teddy ran after him. When Remus and Teddy reached the parking lot a car was leaving their area

"Harry, son please come back" Remus shouted but it was too late. Harry drove to an unknown destination.
