Season Fourteen, Episode One: Lost Reputation
"Wow."
Olivia rolls over giggling, laying her head on Brian's bare chest, locks of her chocolate hair stuck against her damp skin as she tries to catch her breath.
"Worth the thirteen-year gap?"
Brian chuckles breathily, kissing the top of Olivia's head. "So worth it. That was incredible. You're incredible."
Olivia smirks, snuggling in closer to Brian. "I'm really sorry." She suddenly confesses, and Brian casts a look down at her, confusion smeared across his face.
"For what?"
"For the way I treated you all those years ago. You wanted something more, and I let my stupid pride get in the way of something that could've been really great."
Brian shook his head and sighed. "Liv, that doesn't matter now. We're here, together, and it's good. It's great."
Olivia sighs, nodding her head slowly. "Yeah, I know, but-"
"No, Liv, stop, okay? Don't ruin this moment." He sits up and presses a warm kiss against her temple. "I'm going to go jump in the shower. Stay right there, looking just like that."
Olivia's smile slightly grows in the low lit light of the bedroom as she watched Brian climb out of bed and head into the bathroom. She closes her eyes tightly and fell back into the pillows, the four glasses of wine she consumed earlier suddenly catching up to her.
But that's the furthest thing from her mind. She feels happy, inexplicably happy. All of those years ago, her rejecting Brian, were finally worth it, because now, here they are older, wiser and can handle a relationship of this capacity.
She could feel herself dozing off when her phone ringing on the bedside table interrupted her momentary bliss, and she reaches over slowly to answer it. "Benson."
Her captain's cryptic voice on the other end caused her to shoot up in bed, her eyes widening as she clutches the white bed sheet tightly against the tender skin of her chest.
"I'll be right there." She remarks before hanging up and scrambling to find any sort of clothing to meet her captain.
As she bounds out the door, her heart drops to her feet, realizing she didn't even tell Brian where she was going-she just left him. Again. Just like she did thirteen years ago.
She shook her head and made a mental note to call him later on and explain, but right now she needed to help her captain.

"Olivia! Thank you so much for meeting me. Brian talks so much about you." Brian's mother beams from ear to ear at the lovely young lady who happened to capture her son's heart.
Olivia blushes as she sits down across from Brian's mom at the restaurant, a shy smile on her face. "You sounded cryptic on the phone, is everything okay?"
Brian's mom sighs and shakes her head. "Well, your partner, that uh-"
"Amaro. Nick Amaro." Olivia interjects.
"Yes, Amaro. He came in during our lunch and he was just so angry and asked Brian to come talk to him privately, and the next thing I know Nick is walking out of the bathroom without Bri."
Olivia's eyes widen and she sighs. "Oh, um..okay. Did Nick look nervous, or anything?"
"I couldn't tell. I just have no idea where Brian is, and I know that detective always wears a gun."
"Okay, it's okay, Mrs. Cassidy." She reaches forward for the woman's hands, holding them tightly. "I'll try to find Brian. I'll keep you updated, okay?"
Brian's mom nods rapidly and Olivia sighs before standing up and nodding a goodbye to her. She turned her back to the woman at the table before freaking out, immediately heading to Nick's house.

Of course. As her luck would have it, she had every intention of apologizing to Brian, explaining herself-why she left without word and how she never meant to hurt him, again- but his undercover persona got him shot by his slimeball pimp, Ganzel, and now here she sat, holding the fragile remnants of his life in her hands in the back of the ambulance.
She was trying to hold it together, but was failing miserably as the tears fell down her face and onto the man that she knew she loved. Would she ever get the chance to tell him that?
When the ambulance pulled into the hospital, she jumped up off the seat and held Brian's gushing wound until the EMTs wheeled him into the operating room.
As soon as the group of medics disappeared behind the double doors, Olivia blew out a breath and ran her hand through her ponytail, just standing there staring into the distance, unsure of what to do next.
She only broke out of her daze when she felt a hand on her back, and she turned around to see Fin and the rest of her squad standing behind her.
"How ya doin', Liv?"
Olivia swallows hard as she sighs. "They just took him back for surgery, so I guess now it's a waiting game. The worst part about all of this."
The detective took another deep breath and walked away from her squad to go sit down in the rock-hard waiting room chairs, trying to find something, anything, to take her mind off of Brian Cassidy.

"Detective Benson?"
Olivia whips her head around to look at the doctor and stands up from the chair she was sitting in in the waiting room, rubbing her hands along her thighs in an attempt to calm her racing heart. "Yes, hi. How's Brian?"
The doctor nodded and took a deep breath. "Luckily, the bullet barely missed his artery. He lost quite a lot of blood, but we got him fixed up, and he's going to be okay. He's not quite awake yet, but you can go in and see him."
Olivia let out the breath she didn't realize she was holding and tried to keep the tears from falling as she followed the doctor to Brian's room. When she saw him lying there in the bed, looking as fragile as could be, she felt the weight lift off her shoulders and nodded at the doctor before walking into the room and grabbing the chair that was a few feet away, sliding it up next to the bed and just sitting down, waiting for him to wake up.

"I'm not the same person I was."
Brian smiled and nodded oh-so slightly. "Yeah you are."
Olivia shook her head and smiled. "No, I'm not." She leaned forward and captured Cassidy's lips in hers, both of them breathing heavily when she pulled away.
"That was nice."
Olivia can't help the laugh that bubbles in her chest as she shrugs. "Something about a man in a hospital bed."
"Okay Florence Nightingale." Brian teases. The woman he was certain he loves sitting next to him chuckles before leaning down and capturing his lips again.
"I'm really glad you're okay." She whispers, the soothing words mindlessly tumble from between her pink supple lips. Brian smiles and nods enthusiastically.
"I'm really glad you're here." He said back, kissing Olivia again before wrapping her in his arms and pulling her gently down to him, because despite the healing wounds, all he wanted was Olivia near him. The rest could be dealt with later.
Olivia smiled and buried her head into his neck, breathing in his scent and thanking everything she had him back in her arms.

"Okay, so I set everything up for you in the living room-painkillers, extra pillows, water, and the phone and delivery menus are next to each other."
Brian laughed at Olivia's babbling and just shook his head. "Liv, I got shot in the chest, not the leg. I can take care of myself."
Olivia grabbed a blanket and threw it over Brian's legs that were propped up on the coffee table, his protest falling on deaf ears. "Yeah, but the doctor said to take it easy, so I'm going to make sure you do just that. I have everything taken care of."
"Liv, Liv, come here." Brian grabbed her hand and pulled down to sit next to him, gripping her hand tightly. "I'm fine. I'm a big boy and I can take care of myself."
"Fine, fine, you're right. I just want to take care of you for once." She rolls her eyes playfully, throwing her arms up in surrender
Brian nodded and smiled broadly, lifting up Olivia's hand and kissing it. "You are taking care of me, Olivia, just by being here. But Captain Cragen needs you, too, to clear his name. So go."
Olivia groaned and threw her head back, not wanting to leave Brian in the slightest. But she knew Cragen needed her, and the squad needed her, and she'd come see Brian whenever she had the chance.
"Okay, fine, you're right. I hate it when you're right." She pouted and leaned forward, kissing him lightly. "I'll see you as soon as I have the chance."
Olivia kissed him once more and stood up, grabbing her keys and coat and walking out the door of Brian's apartment.

"How are you feeling?" Olivia whispered into the phone, trying not to let anyone in the precinct hear her.
"Olivia, for the tenth time, I'm fine. I've done nothing but clear out my DVR and eat a shit ton of delivery pizza. I can't do much else but sit here and relax, babe."
Olivia nodded and shrugged. "I know, I just miss you is all. It's killing me being here knowing you're there alone." She tried not to whine, and biting her lip seemed to be the only way to do that.
"I know, Liv, I miss you too, but I promise I'll call you if something happens. Get back to work, we'll talk soon." Brian said goodbye, Olivia nodded sadly as she heard the click on the other end, and she slid her phone into her pocket and walked back into the squad room.
She missed her boyfriend, but her captain needed to be cleared. She was going to do everything she could to make sure that happened.

"Hey, Liv! How was your day?" Brian asked as he craned his neck in her direction, for the first time all day he felt genuinely at ease seeing his girlfriend saunter into his apartment as if it were her home too.
Olivia dropped her purse and keys on Brian's counter and groaned. "Long, but we finally cleared Cragen."
Brian's eyes widened as soon as Olivia fell down onto the couch next to him. "You did? How did that happen?"
"It was Delia, and Ganzel, and everyone they were working with. They framed the captain." She nuzzled her head into the crook of Cassidy's neck, as his arm laid across her shoulder.
"No way." Olivia nodded, finally exhaling. She felt like she's been holding her breath for days. The closer she pulled herself into Brian's embrace, the more tension she felt oozing off of her strained muscles.
"Yeah, I mean we're so grateful that he's been cleared, but it really hurt his reputation. He'll be picking up the pieces for a while." She felt Brian's lips on her forehead. "I'm just so glad it's finally over, and you're okay."
"I am too, Liv. I am too."
Olivia smiled and snuggling closer into Brian, feeling the weight of the world slowly being lifted off of her shoulders as she fully melted into the man sitting next to her.
