Skinwalker and Will o'the Wisp

The city lived in fear. For the last sixth months it had been under siege by a single being. Human, Parahuman, or other, no knew.

All they knew was that people had been disappearing, at first it had been the homeless population going missing, escalating to those by themselves late at night, which had been excused as gang violence. But then the gang members had began to go missing. Then anyone not moving around in large groups, then police and PRT. Eventually heroes and villains alike began to disappear until once the sun set, the city was given over to the beast, and when the sun rose, those still there gave there thanks, and those who were not… Well, their houses were found with some doors broken open, some simply unlocked, and some smashed open, some houses with blood coating the walls and the floor, others with no sign of a struggle.

Brockton Bay was becoming a city of tombs.

How did they know the cause was only a single being you might ask? There had been one recorded encounter with the beast, an unsteady cellphone video that captured the evisceration, and the consumption of a gang member of the E88 by what appeared to be the a cross between a crocodile and Grizzly bear, a massive furred and scaled beast over eight feet in height with wicked sickle claws and triangular teeth, its tail extended for a further four feet behind it, ending in almost dagger like protrusions that were obviously meant for battle. The creature pounced onto its fleeing prey, its sheer weight breaking the mans back, leaving him a weakly twitching sack of meat.

The creature regarded its freshly downed prey, its head quirking to one side in an almost curious fashion before it unhinged its jaw, and it began to gulp its prey down, lip-like skin pulling over teeth as like a snake it quickly pulled its prey into itself.

Once its prey was fully swallowed it paused, and turned to stare at something off to onside of the screen, it paused, and then its entire form seemed to shudder and shift, to melt and bulge as flesh and bone reshaped themselves, until what was crocodile and bear, became Cheetah and Crocodile instead, Newley formed feline paws, long and slim fore and back limbs that bulged with muscle and shown with scales and blood.

Without so much as a glance, it ran towards whatever had last caught its attention.

This terrifying assault, and more than that, its ability to modify its own shape, and whatever mystery had drawn it away.

Scene Break

Emma breathed heavily as she faded out of her breaker state, it always took it out of her to split herself into as many as were needed, but this time it had taken an especially long time, it seemed she would have to think of some new tricks if she wanted to keep being able to do what she needed.

Emma groaned, limbs protesting from the strains, both new and old.

She walked closer to the massive steel door that lead into the cellar. The thick chains and locks shivering and shifting as something massive moved behind them. Emma rested her head on the door, its cold steel welcome on her warm head.

"I'm so sorry Taylor, but don't worry, Ill keep you safe until we can figure out a way to cure you…"

Emma jerked backwards as a new dent appeared in the metal door, and a deafening-hissing roar issued forth from the thankfully still locked door.

Emma crawled backwards until her back met the corner of the wall, and then she began crying, big tears making their way down her scarred features.

This is going to be an experiment of sorts, to see if I can flesh out a certain point of view, and achieve the duality Im looking for. Please rate and review as the story continues.
