Hey guys or gals, this is my first story and I hope you like it!
19 years later, Harry, Ron and Hermione were back at Platform 9 3/4 at the Kings Cross station. As Romione and Hinny (Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny) were waving their kids goodbye, the Hogwarts Express let out a puff of smoke and started its descent to Hogwarts.
A/N: The end. But that is not how I wanted it. I thought that Harry Potter and Hermione Granger were meant to be! However, that is not what happened, so here is my version of Harry Potter through Hermione's eyes. Hope you all enjoy it.
I walk onto platform 9 ¾ at the Kings Cross station and am immediately drenched in the Hogwarts Express's smoke. The train's bright red exterior with the black front and millions of cabin windows made me feel lost in my own thoughts. "Hermione," someone says behind me, I turn around and see my parents waving. "Bye sweetheart." my father said.
"Bye mom and dad, I will miss you guys!" I reply, hugging them one last time before I make my way onto the train. As I step onto the train my heart races, so many wizards and witches. I am not a witch; both my parents are human. But when I got the letter of invitation to Hogwarts I knew I was pretty special. So as I walk through the hallway, witches and wizards cramming into cabins, talking loudly to each other and squeezing past me, it feels weird. It was a tingling sensation through my body, like I was flying on top of the world but also like I was slowly sinking into the ground. A train conductor pushed me into a cabin.
"We are about to leave miss, please take a seat in this cabin." He says in his heavy English accent.
After I put my stuff down, I quickly asked, "May I take my cat out? Would any of you mind?" No one answered so I took Crookshanks out and placed him on my lap. Gently, I stroke his fluffy orange fur that covers his whole body like a coat. Over his face there was a lot of fur, like he was drowning in it. As Crookshanks purred, it vibrated his body which feels like a massage for my hand.
When I look up to see who I am sitting with, there is only three other students. So I try to start some conversation.
"So what are all your names?" I look over at the boy sitting across from me looking out the dull window. I put my hand out, he takes it. "Hermione Granger, what's your name?" He takes a second. "Umm Neville Longbottom." he murmurs. He looks down and screams.
"Where did my toad Trevor go?"
"Don't worry, Neville, I will help you!" I reply.
"Ok, so let's start by going down the hall and asking the different cabins." He suggests.
We both set off asking many cabins if they have seen Trevor. Their replies were either "No sorry." Or "Why would I care." We come across another cabin.
"Have you seen Neville's toad Trevor?" I ask, a boy stands up he has white ish blonde hair that almost burns my eyes.
"Draco Malfoy."
"Hermione Granger." I answer cautiously.
"Well you look like a mud blood..." He starts, but I am already out the door to the next cabin. Being flushed faced and angry, I did not even realize I had entered another cabin. Two boys were sitting across from each other. "Have you seen Neville's toad called Trevor?" I ask in the rudest way possible. When Neville enters the room, he takes a moment to look around, then he points at the floor.
"Oh look, its Trevor!" Neville scoops Trevor into his hands and walks back towards their cabin.
I sit down next to the red head, "I am Hermione Granger and you are?" I ask the boy next to me. He was chewing a chocolate frog.
"Um, Ron Weasley." he answers with his mouth still full. I turn towards the other boy.
"Wait a minute, you're Harry Potter." I say. I lift up his jet-black hair to reveal a lighting shaped scar on the right side of his forehead. I look at his circle shaped glasses, then quickly look away and sit back down.
"Why is your hair so frizzy?" Ron asked me.
"Well where are your manners?" I reply back. I wondered whether he meant to complement my frizzy hazelnut colored hair, or if he was just being rude. I looked back at Ron and into his olive-green eyes, I look down at his lap and there was a rat.
"Your pet is a rat?" I questioned, "What can he do?" I asked him. Crookshanks is a playful and very smart cat, and I bet a rat can't do anything.
"Well I can turn him into a yellow rat," He answered sounding very confident. "Sunshine, daisies, butter mellow, turn this stupid, fat rat yellow." He said with a swish of his wand, but nothing happened. The rat just climbed into the empty chocolate frog box.
"Are you sure that's a real spell? Well it's not a very good one then!" I said. Ron turned towards Harry and rolled his eyes. I was sure he hated me.
Over the speaker I heard the train conductors' heavy English accent again, "We will arrive at Hogwarts in about thirty minutes. Students who don't have their robes on yet, I advise you to put them on now. Thank you."
"I must leave now to pack up my luggage." I say. I look at Ron and say, "Goodbye." I add, "Nice to meet both of you!" I walk back down the hall to my cabin, when I enter the room only Neville is there.
"Where is everyone?" I question Neville.
"They all left." He said, like this was normal. We already had our robes on, so we just sat there. A few minutes later, I take out my book, 'The Voice in the Stars'. I adore this story and have read it millions of times and it never gets old. I was so lost in my book that Neville had to tap me on the shoulder to tell me that we had arrived at Hogwarts. I step out onto the platform there it is the humongous Hogwarts castle. I could see every single window lit with light, it was so magical looking! I wondered whether it would be like the stories I had read as a little kid, before I found out about the wizarding world.
"Gather here all first years," A very small giant said in his English accent.
I make my way through the crowd of first years and find my way to Harry and Ron.
"Who is he?" I ask them.
"Rubeus Hagrid, he was the one who told me I was a wizard. He helped me get my books and school supplies." Harry replied.
Hagrid guided us to a river separating the train platform from the castle, then he told us to get into pairs of three and get into a boat. I saw Harry and Ron get into a boat with Hagrid, so I had to find some other people. After searching I found Neville and a girl called Emmeline, all three of us got into the boat. As we sat down, the boats moved by itself towards the Hogwarts castle.
We did not talk much, and the ride was very short. When we got to the stone dock, I climbed out and took a deep breath in. We met Professor McGonagall, she teaches transfiguration, she said to follow her close by. We went up endless flights of stairs until we reached big wooden doors. Professor McGonagall stopped. "Before we enter the great hall, I must inform you that when we enter these doors we mustn't sit down." She pauses for moment, and then continues "You all will gather near the front where there is a stool and the sorting hat. The sorting hat will put you into one of the four houses based on your personalities, you will sit at that table every time for all meals." We waited for what felt like thirty minutes.
"You may enter." Professor McGonagall said, with one big push the big wooden doors opened.
