Primal Exchange
Prologue 1: A Paranoid Ass
"In a world not unlike our own there are people gifted with extraordinary powers. They are called superheroes. These godlike men and women aren't born, they are forged at League University. League University, where superheroes are born…"
The Past, four days before the exchange
"Must you constantly sound like an ass Bruce constantly?"
Seated atop a couch a woman in all black latex as the light of a hundred tv screens illuminated her body. The woman slid her hands down her side and picked up the tail of her latex. She swung it around in a circle as she rolled her eyes.
"I'm not being an ass," Bruce grumbled. "I'm working…"
"Ha!" she laughed. "I didn't know being a peeping tom was considered 'working'?"
Letting out a deep sigh, Bruce turned off the monitors in front of him. Gradually, he stood to his feet. Gliding his hands across his large oak desk as he made his way towards the woman. As he reached the woman he ran his hand over her thigh. She purred as his hand made its way up her sides.
"It's called being prepared," he replied as his hand reached her face. "I need this trip to go smoothly Selina."
"Don't you mean the school does?" she asked as she molded her face into his hand.
Bruce shrugged as he continued to touch Selina's thighs.
"That's all relative," he answered.
"Still doesn't answer why all of those cameras are on one person," she purred.
Bruce's hand suddenly stopped at the top of Selina's hip.
"You didn't think I'd notice that you were watching him Bruce," she said. "It's just amusing to watch you get your rocks off from watching him mope around in Smallville…"
As she spoke he started to tighten his grip.
"... I mean weren't you the one who stopped him from receiving his acceptance letter to him."
"Something like that isn't a part of my job description," he said as he stared down at her.
"But it is a part of your money…" she said, interrupting him.
"What are you suggesting that I paid to keep the farmboy off this trip," Bruce replied.
Bruce's gaze remained firmly locked on Selina as she licked her lips.
"I know it was you," she interjected as she swatted his hand away from her thigh. " You might be able to fool the rest of the people on campus... But Bruce, I know you, the real you…"
Ignoring the woman's accusation, Bruce rolled his eyes as he turned his attention back to the monitors behind him.
"You've had it out for Clark ever since he transferred here…" she shouted.
As her words hit him, Bruce brushed off his sleeves and readjusted the black ring on his right finger. All the while he was still looking at the screens in front of him. On the screen was a towering man with a red and blue plaid shirt on. He was seated on a porch with his face resting on his outstretched arms.
"He's an alien," Bruce coldly replied.
"And you're a paranoid snowflake," she snapped as she sat up. "But we still keep you around, orphan…?"
Without a word Bruce snatched Selina up by her throat. As his hand grabbed her by the throat she racked her claws across his face. Bruce didn't react as her claws dug in deep on his right cheek. A slight trickle of blood fell from his cheek.
"Don't call me that," Bruce replied.
There was a dead look in his eyes sas they stood there in silence for a few seconds.
"Having him on Themyscira would only cause the university more trouble than he's worth," he scoffed.
With a grunt he loosened his grip on Selina.
"Says the orphan who needed 'him' to save his ass during training," she muttered under her breath.
Bruce acted as if he didn't hear Selina's snide comment.
"He's probably the most powerful man in this damn universe Selina," he continued. "... and now you want to take his godlike ass to an island with a bunch of women who were raped by someone exactly like his ass."
As he spoke Bruce gradually made his way from Selina and back to his desk. Still holding her throat, Selina leaned back and spit into the back of Bruce's head.
"He isn't like that and you know it!" she spat.
"He's too dangerous," Bruce growled as he released Selina.
Leaning up against one of the arms of the couch with her hands she cussed at Bruce in Italian.
"Rude…" Bruce muttered.
"Too bad I already had Dean J'onzz send Clark his acceptance letter last week," she hissed. "It should be arriving anytime now."
Bruce snapped his head in Selina's direction. A Cheshire like grin spread across her face as she started to laugh.
"The billionaire Bruce Wayne outsmarted by a mere villainess," she laughed.
Bruce tossed up his hands before he stormed out of the room. As the door slammed behind him, Selina stood to her feet.
"That's for fucked that ginger reporter," she purred.
2: An Island Girl
Meanwhile on Themyscira, the night of the exchange
Deep within the wood of Themyscira was the home of Ares, the Greek god of war. Hidden by the thick underbrush was a girl. She laid on her back beside a man with a long black beard. The young girl was princess of the island. The princess would hide herself deep within the wood at the home of Lord Ares in order to find a few moments to herself.
Mellowed out over the course of several millennia, Ares had become the princess's mentor and only true friend. Staring up at the stars the both wondered about the future.
"Ares," she called out.
"Yes little one," Ares replied.
The young girl propped herself up on her elbows and stared at her mentor.
"Don't call me that," she protested. "I'm not little anymore…"
Ares laughed.
"To a god, all mortals are 'little'," he replied without looking at her. "Hence I call you little one…"
"Geez…" she sighed as she fell back down on the grass. "What a way to make a girl feel like a woman..."
"I believe that is Alexia's job," he laughed, cutting her off.
The princess's body slumped slightly as she heard the name Alexia.
"... Right Alexia…" she said softly.
"Trouble in paradise?" he asked.
The princess looked down at her hands. Silence filled the air between them.
"I broke up with her," she finally said, after a several moments of silence.
Ares looked over at the princess through a sea of tall green grasses with a soft smile. He watched her fold her arms across her chest.
"Don't look at me like that…" she said as she continued to look down at her hands.
"Like what?" he asked right back.
Sarcasm laced every word he said.
"You have your I told you so face on now," she said as she made air quotes with her fingers.
Ares laughed, "If I do recall, I did tell you not to sleep with her."
"By Gaia!" she hissed as she looked over to Ares.
As she looked for him, she realized that he was still laying down in the grass. With a sigh, the princess placed her hands on her knee as she turned her gaze to the sky.
"But I did," Ares continued as he ignored her outburst. "She just wanted one thing from you, Little One."
The princess sighed. She knew he was right. Alexia was a good 900 years older than her. What else would she want from someone as young as her, sex. Plan and simple. Ares wasn't the only one who warned her of Alexia's 'ways'. She was a bang em' and release em' kind of Amazon. The princess got played…
"She didn't love me for me," the princess said. "I was just a lay…"
Ares sat up and joined her in looking up at the stars.
"And a bad one at that," he muttered under his breath.
The princess looked over her shoulder at Ares's with pure fury in her eyes. Ares met her gaze with his own. His eyes bore through her. Again she could tell he was right… again.
"There is someone who's out there who will," he replied as his face softened. "Maybe it will be one of those exchange students that are coming…"
The princess scoffed at Ares's suggestion.
"Like my mother would allow me to do anything like that with one of their women…" she replied.
"Who said it had to be a woman?" he asked as he raised his eyebrow.
The Princess's eyes grew wide as her face flushed.
"My lady is the goddess of love, Little One," he winked. "She tells me everything…"
"Lies!" she shouted back. "I am an Amazon and men are…"
Ares rushed over to her and pinned her to the ground.
"Powerful creatures that set you on fire…" he growled. "I've seen the man the oracle showed you…"
Ares's tight grasp pushed her hands into the ground. The green hue of his eyes started to shift into a crimson fire. His long back beard faded away and was replaced with a chiseled chin with a hint of stubble. Long curls caressed her cheeks. The princess's heart raced as she now found herself underneath the man from the vision. As fast as his image replayed Ares, her mentor's face returned. He leapt back from with a smile on his face.
"Explore Diana…" he said as coolly as an ocean breeze. "The forbidden fruit is always the sweetest… I should know..."
The princess was left breathless as Ares's voice faded into nothingness. Alone, she let out a sigh. The image of the man with the crimson eyes haunted her, this was a trick of Ares.
"Forbidden fruit," she mouthed as she rubbed her hands over her wrists.
Sonic boom….
The princess's attention was pulled away from her wrists. She looked up into the sky as something flew overhead. It was too small to be a plane. Her gaze followed the object as it drew closer to the island. Suddenly she heard all too familiar voices calling for me.
"Princess Diana…" she heard the cries of a few of the palace guards.
"Shit," she mouthed.
Over the past few months the guards had become more adept at finding her traditional hideouts. Her mind automatically went to her former "lover" Alexia. It was probably her. She was one of my mother's spies. Want to control your daughter? Have one of your spies seduce her and make her more pliable.
Standing to her feet, the princess began to run. Heading out of the wood Diana was met with by a man, a man with crimson eyes.
3: Small Town Exchange Student
The night of the exchange, in Smallville, Kansas
Seated on a porch an old white house was a young man in a blue and red plaid shirt. He was waiting for something. A month has passed since he sent in his application for the Themysciran exchange program. As she sat he glanced down at his phone. He'd received text from his buddies, Hal and Barry.
Two weeks ago…
Hal: Hey Big Blue, it's nothing but naked island babes for us.
Barry: We've got our letters baby...
With a sigh the boy lowered his phone.
"Who am I kidding," he said.
"Like 'he' let the new guy go," I thought to myself.
The sun had already started to set over the horizon and along with that so went his hopes.
"I shouldn't have even bothered," he muttered.
The young man closed his eyes as he absorbed the last remnants of sunlight into my skin. As the warmth of the sun faded away the young man took in a deep breath. The Smallville air was a crip as ever until something shifted. A gust of wind blew from the east. It brought the sweet smell of…
"Orchids.." he said aloud as he opened his eyes.
As his eyes opened he saw nothing but the wheat fields in his front yard. The young man looked puzzled as the smell didn't dissipate. It lingered. No it surrounded him. The sweet smell of orchids danced inside his nostrils causing his heart to race.
"What is wrong with me?" he thought to himself.
No smell had ever affected him so. It was as if it was beckoning him.
"Clark…" the young man heard my mother's voice calling him from the kitchen. "Could you come inside son…"
The young man slowly stood to his feet.
"Coming Ma," he replied.
But as he moved towards the front door of his house the smell grew stronger. I felt the fire burn in the back of my eyes.
"Oh no," he cussed. "Not again…."
The young man immediately covered his eyes with his hands. He counted down from 20 as he was taught.
"Calm down Clark…" he said.
"Is everything alright out there Clark?" his mother added. "I've got Dean J'onzz on the phone…"
"I'm ok," Clark replied, stumbling over his words.
As he spoke he removed his hands from his eyes for a second. To beams of pure fire shot out of his eyes scorching two lines through the wheat field.
"Clark…"
"Stay back Ma…" he said as he covered his eyes once more.
"Is everything alright there Mrs Kent," the young man heard the dean's voice over the phone.
"Everything is…" his mother started to talk.
The young man shook his head feverishly.
"Perfectly fine here," she added as she watched her son pacing back and forth before her. "Clark is busy putting away the farm equipment at the moment. Can I take a message for him?"
"Ummm sure," he replied. "Please inform him that he has been accepted into the exchange program. His letter was lost in the mail…."
The young man stopped in his tracks and faced east once more.
She squeaked, "Oh my. I'll be sure to tell him right away…."
"Please do," J'onzz replied. "However, the plane has already left for Themyscira. He'll be required to fly in himself unless he feels more comfortable…"
"Of course," she added. "He'll be out in a matter of seconds…."
While his mother spoke the smell of orchids consumed the young man. Whatever was giving off that scent was coming from the east.
"I need to…" before he could finish his own thoughts his body took control.
He shot into the air with supersonic speed. His mother was blown back into one of the walls of the house as he suddenly took off.
"Mrs Kent?" J'onzz asked.
He called out to her over and over again. When she didn't answer he teleported himself to her. The green fleshed dean of Justice League University leaned down towards the elderly woman. He brushed his hand against her cheek.
"Are you alright Mrs Kent?"
"Oh my," she said as she slowly opened her eyes.
"Thank the red sands,"J'onzz said.
The young man's mother slowly regained her composure as she stood to her feet.
"Where Clark?" he asked as he gave her his hand.
"Oh you know Clark, J'onzz," she answered. "He's already taken off…"
"I've told him to…"
"J'onzz he…"
"Check before flying off…"
"Could you bring him his luggage..."
"His luggage?" J'onzz asked. "He took off without bringing his clothes with him?"
The woman smiled.
"He was distracted by something," she replied. "That and his eyes were burning…"
The woman pointed out in front of her. The dean's eyes followed her hands and he saw the burning fields before him.
"Oh no," J'onzz muttered. "I've got to get to him before he…"
"Before what?"
Before the woman could finish her sentence J'onzz was gone.
"Clark," she muttered as she clasped her hands together tightly. "Please be safe…"
