Chapter 1 - Rebirth
I'm currently driving through the streets of London as me and some fellow officers have just received orders to intercept an attack near the Tower Bridge. I'm driving like crazy as I was just stuck in traffic and I had to get there in time to make sure that no one is hurt.
"Come on." I muttered to myself as I turned a corner and saw the Tower Bridge and then I saw some other officers taking cover as they're trying to shoot back at the ones responsible for the attack. They're shooting all over the place and then one of them noticed me driving up and shot at me. I ducked down while doing a swerve to make some cover. I climbed out of the car and ducked to maintain cover as I pulled my gun out.
"Alright." I said to myself as I leaned up a bit to see the playing field. There were 2 police cars on either side of the street and then I saw the shooters in the middle of the street.
I needed to get closer so I scurried as fast as I could to the car to my left and some bullets narrowly missed me. I then rested up onto the car and was next to Charles who was firing at the shooters.
"We're practically at a stalemate here." Charles said to me through the loud gunshots. I then started firing at the shooters and I somehow wounded one by shooting their leg.
"We have to shoot them at their limbs to wound them and get an opening!" I ordered Charles and he looked at me with deep thought, and then he nodded.
We both took aim and carefully took time to make sure we were accurate and when we were sure, we took the shots and the various shooters all got wounded.
"Now!" I yelled and all of us moved forward and kept our guns aimed at the perps. They all moaned in pain, as I was approaching one of them, he pulled something out of his jacket and I knew what it was.
"BOMB!" I yelled but it was too late as a huge explosion went off from the bomber and I was engulfed in it as I closed my eyes preparing for the excruciating . But surprisingly I didn't feel any pain and instead I opened my eyes to find myself in a landscape of a black sky and a reflective floor. Where was I?
"You're in a realm between worlds, brave one." I heard a voice say to me from thin air. It sounded like someone of Asian descent and was in his elder years. I looked around to see where the voice came from but there was no one there with me.
"What do you mean? Why am I even here?" I asked in utter confusion.
"To put it bluntly you're dead as of right now." The voice said to me. I was saddened to know this as I did expect I did given the fact that I was in an explosion. I'll miss my friends who I considered family.
"I guessed as such. But why aren't I in heaven?" I said in a voice that screamed sadness. I then heard the voice chuckle a bit, was this all funny to him?
"The reason is because the Universe has decided to give you a chance to live again. You have a strong sense of right and wrong, but also a real understanding of people, my world needs more of this. Do you want to take this offer?" The voice said to me. I was soaking all of this in. Another world sounds like something straight out of Doctor Who but what got me was that this voice understood who I was. Even though my life wasn't even close to being great, I always had an understanding of who people are and I always felt I had to help given my sense of right and wrong. If being in this world means I can help more people, I would kindly accept it as helping keeps me going.
"I accept." I answered and the voice chuckled yet again.
"Wise choice. Word of caution though, when you enter my world, you won't be in the same body." The voice said to me and this made me more nervous as I didn't know what to expect. I then saw a blinding light coming from behind me and I didn't turn but instead I closed my eyes and as I did that, I felt like I was on a rollercoaster as I felt like I was flung through the air.
I groaned as I opened my eyes and found myself lying down on the ground. I then noticed around the corner of my eyes bamboo shoots. I must be somewhere in China or Japan.
"Okay, this is interesting." I said to myself and I noticed that when I talked, it was as though my mouth was long, it was hard to explain. But as I raised my head up and looked down to look at myself, I was shocked beyond belief as I saw Chinese clothing, mainly a grey undershirt with a blue vest over it. And then I noticed my feet, they looked like paws from a canine.
"Whoa." I said to myself again and then I got up and saw that my hands were also paws as well. I noticed a body of water nearby and so I ran to it and looked at the reflection.
I couldn't believe what I was looking at, I saw a canine with orange and cream fur, with noticeable ears and a snout. I still had my green eyes. I think I've become a fox.
A/N: I'm taking a break from doing anything Tiger Warrior related and decided to tackle a new story of a human turned animal. This will hopefully make me improve my storytelling a bit.
