Raira Academy, it was a pretty modern school and the reputation of it was solid and wide known in the district of Ikebukuro. Many prominent and well-known members of the neighbourhood were students at this school and now it was her turn to go to Raira Academy.
It wasn't mandatory to wear the school uniform all time, but her parents were fond of the clothes from the school and this was an official day for the students, so the staff expected the students to be dressed properly.
Through the rounded and thin lences of her glasses, she witnessed the many other students who were also attending their first day at Raira Academy. She was more of a active observer, than an passive undertaker and kept herself on the background most of the time.
"Yokiri-san, there you are!" a lively voice greeted her and pulled the girl metaphorically to the front.
A girl shouted to her and was easily recognizable amongst the crowd, even when her hair wasn't light brown.
The girl's dark blue eyes stared into the dark brown eyes, which Yokiri got from her mother.
"Oh hi, Mika-san," Yokiri spoke, her voice was soft and kind.
"You seemed surprised by me, I have send you a message that I was also going to Raira," Torekami Mika said and got a simple nod as response.
"I knew you got qualified, you have always been the smart and calculative type," she continued, while they walked towards the class room. Like magnets, their personality were the opposite and they met each other due to that polarity.
"I wasn't sure if I was good enough, I heard that the school got high standards."
It was Yokiri who underestimated her own abilities, however, she did the entry test better than average.
"Even when you did it average, you will be selected even then. Your own father is working at Raira academy, so you have a safe card," Mika replied to give Yokiri some self-esteem.
"(...)" Yokiri became silent when Mika mentioned that, she wasn't sure if it was a pro or a con.
"Alright, take a seat. Welcome to Raira Academy and let's get started with the introductions."
The teacher began with the formal greetings to the first-year students.
Yokiri and Mika comfortable with the two tables at the front of the class room. The back seats were occupied by the people who weren't serious about studying and were flinched when the teacher proposed to begin the introductions in the back.
While the others introduced themselves to the class, Yokiri was pondering how to introduce herself without causing rumours.
"Don't overthink it, just be proud on your name," Mika whispered, who sat next to her.
"Well, you seems like a person who likes to chat, so introduce yourself," the teacher commented on the conversation. They were the only two left for the introduction.
"My name is Toremaki Mika, I am the daughter of owner of the Toremaki Jewelry Shop. Nice to meet y'all!"
"Nice to meet you too, your attitude reminds me of an other energetic girl, but that doesn't matter. So, what's your name?" the teacher said and was currently looking to Yokiri. She stood up and was a bit overwhelmed by all the attention she received.
-My mother has done this too, so I shouldn't be afraid for the introduction.
"It's nice to meet all of you, my name is..."
She swallowed as she got nervous.
"...Sonohara Yokiri."
She pushed through her passive stance and unfortunately got the reaction that she has feared.
"Ah, you're the daughter from the owner of Sonohara-Hall, it's nice to meet you too."
The class wasn't reacting on her reveal and it seemed that only the adults were aware of the history of her mother's antique shop.
-At least, it doesn't appear to be an issue here.
She thought and observed the first notes from her new teacher about the schedule of events at Raira Academy.
