I always thought it was ridiculous that Dawn was some cool mystical Key thingy, made of energy, and she ended up being one of the only Scoobies completely powerless. Useless. It makes no sense. Even Willow, born completely human and normal, ended up a badass goddess witch. Dawn was literally pure energy, and she couldn't do anything with it?!
It never REALLY bothered me though.. because I hate/ed Dawn, she was/is my least favorite character.
It just does't make sense!
In this Kaya will be able to use that energy.. eventually.
And the Powers That Be obviously know what she is, and want Angel to watch and protect her not Buffy.
After all Angel had been "good" for like ninety years by the time the show/story starts, and the PTB never sent him to babysit a Slayer before. And the argument that they sent him to Buffy knowing how important she will end up being doesn't really mesh, because Whistler told her at the end of season 2 that none of them had seen her (Buffy) coming.
But enough rambling on that.
Now I'll ramble on this...
This is obviously a Kaya/Angel story.
Warning::::: I will never take lines from Buffy, or any character, and just make them Kaya's. I hate that, it's just lazy writing, and makes your own character pointless. But I will be taking the situations themselves. I'm mostly talking about the Buffy/Angel moments. I love Bangel scenes, so I'm gonna steal them for my own character.
Again, I will not just give her Buffy's lines.
It'll be Kaya in those scenes, with her own lines, thoughts, feelings and reactions.
Things go pretty AU after season 3 because Angel will not be going to LA
If you're interested read on!
Kaya – appealing, beautiful

Los Angeles, 1996
Hemery High School.
School was over for the day, and the students came streaming out of the brick building. An old, rusted Chevy Impala with its windows spray-painted black pulled up on the far side of the street. The driver's window lowered, and the passenger squinted out into the daylight, careful to remain in shadow. He looked over at the driver, before his dark eyes dart to the building, a group of chattering and laughing girls were coming down the steps.
"Why are we here?"
The passenger was a man who appeared to be around twenty years old. He was tall and lean, with dark messy hair to match his nearly black colored irises. And his features were nothing short of.. angelic.
Not even the filthy, threadbare clothes could take away from that face.
"Just watch for a sec Ace."
The driver was his opposite in every aspect.
He seemed in his early thirties. Short, and stocky, but well dressed.. Well the quality of his clothes was much better. The brightly colored button up under his suit jacket must be an acquired taste. He even wore a bowler hat. And while he wasn't ugly, he looked horribly plain next to the tall brooding passenger.
Even in that loud shirt.
"Whistler." The passenger impatiently insisted.
"Angel." The now named Whistler gasped dramatically, rolling his eyes. "You see those two? The twins?"
The group of girls were talking, until they split, leaving two identical blondes on the school steps by themselves. They were young, fourteen or fifteen at the oldest. The only difference between the two, clothes not included, was one had long straight hair hanging down to the middle of her back, and the other's was just passed her collarbones, with choppy bangs framing her face.
They were incredibly beautiful, but again, so very young.
"What about them...?"
But Angel's words trailed off. His tall frame sitting forward, as a short, plump man approached the girls. His head tilted to the side, listening to the man. Where no human would possibly be able to hear, he had no problem following every word.
"She's the Slayer? She's young."
Whistler waved him off.
"It's not the Slayer you should be lookin' at big boy. Slayer's are a dime a dozen." He rolled his eyes again at the incredulous look his passenger was giving him. "Okay, so not a dime a dozen. But there's been a Slayer for millennium, and will for many more. This particular Slayer is pretty important, she got a rough road ahead, but she's still just a Slayer." He shrugged.
"And the other?" Angel questioned, eyes now on the twin with shorter hair.
"Now there ain't never been anything like her." He whistled. "Pure, otherworldly.. some would even say divine. Go ahead, feel her out. You ever felt anything like that before?"
The taller man closed his eyes for a long moment, a look of intense concentration covering his handsome face. Before said eyes snapped open a moment later. Confusion, and curiosity swimming in the dark depths. Still completely focused on the girl, as she threw her head back and laughed at something her sister said.
"What is she?" He leaned forward in his seat again.
Whistler smirked.
"Now that's the question, ain't it?" He held his hands up in a placating motion when Angel gave him a look. "I told you she's special.. But as for what she is, well even I'm not in the loop on that one." He shrugged again. "She's important though, vital. Irreplaceable."
"What do you want from me?" Dark eyes went back to the girl as he waited for an answer.
"Protect her." Whistler sat up, suddenly sounded more serious than he had since dragging his companion from the sewers where he found him. "She's got some powers she don't know about just yet. Like I said, special. Unique. But mostly defenseless right now."
"She'll have the Slayer."
They both watched as the girls stood, obviously weary of the man, Watcher, they no doubt thought insane. They huddled together, the longer haired girl, the new Slayer, naturally placing herself in front of her sister.
"Won't be enough." The driver sounded sure, taking a big bite from a candy bar he pulled out of nowhere. "There will come a time, years from now, where the fate of everything comes down on that girl." He pointed at her with his candy bar. "She has to be ready, and more importantly, live long enough to make it to that future."
This caused Angel to frown, deeper than he already was.
"The fate of the world is down to her, not the Slayer..?"
It was more of a statement than question by that point.
"Not just our world big boy, all worlds."
Please review!
Thinking of giving Kaya white-lighter like powers. like from Charmed. Basically Paige's power, the ability to orb, and move things by orbing them.
What do you think? Yay or nay?
