Calyrex's Narration: David Ishihara is a young man of great hidden potential. A Human-Lunarian hybrid, he makes up for his lack of physical strength with his strategic mind and varied arsenal of weapons and abilities. His kind heart has even made allies out of the worst of his enemies. These very qualities have helped him triumph over the likes of Brainiac, Zeromus, Odin, and many others. After a six-month respite, David and his comrades leave Tokyo for another journey. But while he is off on his own adventures, his friends back home follow a different tale.
In Tokyo, the bell was ringing in the school, signaling the end of another day of classes.
"Another day of school passes." Kasumi said. "How long do you think those two have been gone?"
"Been way too long. I mean, they do go around those other worlds a lot." Kazuma said. "Heh. Anyone could go play the hero."
"Don't say stuff like that, Kazuma. What those two are playing a very big part in maintaining stability in the Multiverse." Kita said.
"Well, yeah. We know that. But the least they could do is come by and visit every once in a while, you know?" Kego asked.
"Uh...yeah...they could visit but...would they even remember us?" Ayase said. "I know they wouldn't remember me."
"Oh, come on, Ayase. Don't be like that." Maiko said. "There's no way in heck they would forget us so easily."
"Maiko's right. We're a big part of their lives too. Besides, people like them don't go down so easily." Rankira said.
"Easy for someone like you to say, Rankira. I mean, have you even seen the kinds of creatures and baddies they face on a regular basis?" Minato asked.
"In fact, remember the concert he did in the Magic Universe? Rumor has it before he performed it...he was in a deadly fight with a devil." Akira said emerging from the dark.
"Wah! D-don't scare me like that, Akira!" Kasumi said. "Still, a fight with an actual devil? You know what…? Now that I think about it, I can definitely see that happening."
"Please. Devils are just a myth...right?" Kita asked shaking a bit.
"They're beings who don't reside in the world of the living but can only exist in spiritual form to possess humans in order to gain power." Akira said.
"And that's not even the most unusual thing, especially when you count the wringers this city even goes through." Tsubaki said.
"You wanna hear something truly frightening? Have you heard the rumors lately...about the ghost in the Ginza?" Akira asked.
"W-w-w-what?!" Kita asked in shivers.
"How do you know this stuff, Akira?" Eri asked.
"I have ways of learning these things. Basically, the rumors say that at night...when no one is inside the Ginza, you can see a ghostly figure walking through the main floor before approaching the fountain in the middle. Once it lights up, the ghost vanishes and the fountain is left in a rainbow color." Akira said.
"Look, Akira. I know that you're basically a foreigner and all, but that doesn't mean you can believe every single rumor you hear." Kazuma said.
"Oh...then prove me wrong then." Akira said. "In fact, we'll sneak into the Ginza tonight and see the ghost ourselves."
"T-tonight?" Kita asked.
"Yeah. Unless you all are...chicken." Akira said.
"No. We're going." Tatsuya said.
"T-Tatsuya! You can't speak for all of us on this!" Kita said.
"If I don't, then the subject would never be dropped. Besides, I'm a little curious about the whole thing myself. Don't you think so, Kasumi?" Tatsuya asked.
"Well, yeah. I guess I am a little." Kasumi said.
"How about we make this interesting? If there is no ghost, I'll give each of you these." Akira said holding a ticket with the olympic symbol on it.
"Aren't those tickets to the Olympic Games? That's a few months away! How did you get those?" Aruma asked.
"These aren't even normal tickets. They're limited edition VIP tickets." Kazuma said.
"So...do we have a deal or not?" Akira asked.
"Alright. I guess we're all in. Let's do it." Kazuma said.
It was later that night, just after the Ginza had closed, the students gathered outside as Kazuma picked the lock and got them inside.
"Wow...this place looks so huge when there's no one around." Maiko said. "We could hit all the shops in a night."
"Focus...we're here for a ghost...not to shop." Akira said as they hid near where the fountain was.
"Hey, Akira. Are you sure this ghost is supposed to pass by here?" Kego asked.
"I'm certain. It always stops at the fountain." Akira said.
"Look, it might not be a ghost at all. Could be a curtain or a dress or…" Aruma said as a cold wind blew through the room. "Did it just get colder?"
"Nope. Showtime." Akira said as a figure drifted down the pathway. The figure appeared to have a white dress with green hair and a strange pink spike in its chest with green arms and legs and white skin.
"This figure… Doesn't it look like…" Kasumi started.
"Checking it...got it." Kita said looking at his custom bought Rotomphone. "Gardevoir, the Embrace Pokemon and the evolved form of Kirlia. A Psychic and Fairy Type! It has the power to predict the future. Its power peaks when it is protecting its Trainer."
"But… What's it doing here?" Ayase asked.
"Whoa...look at that." Kazuma said as the Gardevoir seemed to pass through the benches in its way.
"So far it checks out as you said, Akira." Tatsuya said. "She's phasing through everything here."
Gardevoir then approached the fountain before looking like it was praying. "I apologize, spirits of my world. It seems I was unsuccessful in finding anyone to help our world." it said.
"Did...it just spoke like a person?" Minato said.
"Pokemon from the kingdoms can speak but...they rarely ever venture outside the Warrior Universe anymore. This is just too bizarre." Eri said.
"I will now return to the spirit plane of our world." she said before vocalizing as the water in the fountain turned a rainbow color as she walked into it before vanishing without a trace.
"Whoa...the water...it looks so pretty." Maiko said walking towards it. "Is this coloring or….ah!" she shouted before falling right into the fountain.
"Maiko!" Rankira shouted as the class ran to the fountain.
"How did she just vanish? This fountain's only a foot deep!" Kego said.
"That's because it's not just a fountain…" Kasumi said. "It's a portal!"
"So that's it. Gardevoir said she was returning to her world. That's why she stopped at the fountain. She turns it into a portal so she can go home." Akira said.
"What should we do? I mean, I prefer not to do it if it can be helped, but… Maiko still fell in there. We have to go get her back." Kita said.
"Yep. No choice then...we're gonna have to play hero and get her back." Kazuma said jumping right into the fountain.
"Seriously, Kazuma… It's not playing hero if we're actually doing it." Minato said.
"But will we be okay? We don't know what will happen once we reach the other side." Kita said. "We could end up seperated for all we know."
"Like Kazuma said, we have no choice. We're the only ones that know this secret is real. It's up to us now." Kego said.
"We'll need to hurry then." Akira said as the water was beginning to lose its color. "The portal isn't going to last forever." he said jumping right in.
Kego takes a deep breath before everyone except Kasumi went in.
"Looks like we're off on an adventure of our own. I don't know what kind of dangers we'll face there, but… We have no choice now. I'm going in!" Kasumi said as she dove in.
Kasumi seemed to fall right through the water as she found herself falling right from the sky towards a large continent.
"What is that? Is that? A different world? And my body...it feels like it's changing with every inch I get closer to the ground. Can't...keep awake. Gonna pass out." she thought before things went blank.
"Hey...hey...are you okay?" a voice asked. "Hey! Wake up!" they said.
Kasumi slowly opened her eyes as she saw a small crocodile like creature looking at her.
"Hey...you okay?" he asked.
"Ugh… Yeah, I think so." Kasumi said.
"Phew. That's a relief. I found you passed out here." the creature said.
"Well, thanks. I'm glad there was someone passing by around here." Kasumi said. "Now...have you seen any other humans like me?"
"You're...saying you're human?" the creature asked. "Cause to me...you look like any normal Eevee."
"An Eevee? Hold on a second." Kasumi said looking at her reflection in the water. "Wh-what the?!"
She looked at her body and found her hands now paws, brown and tan fur covering her body, long ears on her head and a large bushy tail behind her.
"No way…! I really became an Eevee!" Kasumi thought. "Could it be...because of the portal's magic?"
"Hey...you okay? You're acting really weird." the creature said. "Look, let's start off with an intro. My name is Totodile."
"I'm Kasumi. Kasumi Kisaragi." Kasumi said, introducing herself.
"Kasumi...Kisaragi." Totodile said before snickering. "That's a pretty funny name right there."
"Is my name really that unusual around here?" Kasumi thought.
"Help!" a voice shouted as they saw a butterfly like creature flying out of the nearby woods.
"Calm down. What's wrong?" Totodile asked.
"It's my baby! A fissure opened and my poor little Caterpie fell in. When I went to get him, a bunch of pokemon attacked me!" the butterfly creature said.
"Pokemon? Attacked you? Guess they must have been angered from the fissure." Totodile said.
"Don't worry, Ma'am. We'll help get him out." Kasumi said.
"He was lost in the Tiny Woods...not too far. Just head over there." the butterfly creature said as both Kasumi and Totodile headed into the woods.
"Wait...this place. Is it...I knew it! This is a Mystery Dungeon." Totodile said.
"A Mystery...Dungeon?" Kasumi asked.
"They're dungeons all over the world. They're called Mystery Dungeons because the layout and items inside it change every time they're visited." Totodile said.
"I see. We'll need to be careful then. Especially since, if what that Butterfree said is true, we'll have to fight our way to Caterpie." Kasumi said.
"I see an enemy right now." Totodile said as a Pidgey flew right at them and tried to peck at them.
"Hey! Easy with that!" Kasumi said as she tackled the Pidgey.
"Water Gun!" Totodile said, taking it down with a blast of water. "We'll need to hurry through quickly." he said as they hurried through the dungeon before hearing crying not too far off.
"*sniffle* Mama...where are you? Mama?" a lone Caterpie said crying.
"It's okay little guy. Your mom asked us to come look for you." Kasumi said.
"That's right. We're here to rescue you. Your mom's outside. Come with us." Totodile said.
"Ok." Caterpie said as he followed them out to Butterfree.
"Oh my baby's safe! I'm sorry, but I don't know how to thank you properly." Butterfree said.
"It has been dangerous lately, with sudden quakes and fissures like this one." Totodile said. "Its great to find your little boy unharmed."
"Please, may I have your names at least?" Butterfree asked.
"Sure. I'm Totodile and she's Kasumi." Totodile said.
"Cool…" Caterpie said staring at Kasumi all starry eyed.
Kasumi scratches the back of her head. "Ah, it was nothing. We were just glad we could help."
"I know this is not nearly enough...but please accept this as a token of our thanks." Butterfree said giving them a few seeds, some berries and some money. "Thank you so much. Good bye." she said going off with Caterpie.
"They seem really nice. I hope we see them again." Kasumi said.
"So...what are you going to do now? Do you have any plans?" Totodile asked.
"Not at the moment, no… Ah! Now I remember! I came here from a portal inside a fountain in a shopping mall with my friends." Kasumi said looking around. "But… I don't see anyone else around. I guess we ended up getting seperated."
"Listen, Kasumi. If you don't have a place to stay, you should come with me." Totodile said.
"Thanks. I appreciate the offer." Kasumi said.
Totodile led her out of the woods as they stopped before a small house with a flag and mailbox. "Well, this is the place." Totodile said.
"Whoa… This place looks really neat!" Kasumi said.
"I figured you might like it. I knew this would be a good place to live. It even has a mailbox where you can receive mail from other Pokemon. Many Pokemon are suffering because of the natural disasters. Just like the fissure Caterpie fell into. There are all sorts of natural disasters happening recently...I want to do good for Pokemon. I want to help them. I want to help make the world a safer place for them. So...um...I know we just met but...would you form a Rescue Team with me?" Totodile asked.
"A… A Rescue Team?" Kasumi asked.
"Yeah. Rescue teams are teams of pokemon that go all over to rescue pokemon in danger." Totodile said.
"Hmm… This seemed a little too sudden with everything that's been going on. But…" Kasumi thought. "If I form a Rescue Team with Totodile, I might be able to figure out more about what's going on. And maybe… I might end up finding the others too." she looks to Totodile. "Alright. I'm in."
"Awesome! You won't regret it. Now then...what do we call our new team then?" Totodile asked.
"Only name I can think of is Ginhana. It's the name of the school I go to where I'm from. It means 'Silver Blossom'." Kasumi said.
"Okay...from now on...we're Team Ginhana!" Totodile declared.
Kasumi smiles at this. "I'll be looking forward to working with you, Totodile."
And so, that's how we started our career as a Rescue Team. Without any knowledge of the adventure me and my classmates were in for in this world of Pokemon.
