He smiled running his finger through the thunderbirds soft feathers, laughing as the large birds beak riffled through his hair, his wings shifted and he sighed in contentment "thank you great one" he said softly 'it is no problem fledgling' the beasts voice boomed; he smiled again, dropping his hand, "i must return to them, though I wish I didn't" he said sadly looking down to his bare feet 'i know child, they do not deserve you, you are to kind, to loving, to gentle, to be a killer' he voice in his head was tender and loving he smiled and hugged the great birds neck before running from the forest.

The battle was won, he'd done it. Harry Potter fell to his knees and sobbed, he felt something inside him break, the wind around him whipped, thunder and lightning broke through the once clear sky, it began to rain, people moved around him, capturing fleeing death eaters, collecting fallen comrades, but all movement stoped when from the sky descended a large bird, it landed in front of Harry, screeching.

'oh fledgling' Harry didn't respond to the voice 'sweet child, young one, you can leave this all now young one' "grandfather... why?" Harry looked up and the thunderbirds heart broke 'i don't know child, im sorry' Harry looked down again not reacting as he was gently lifted by the large birds beak.

"grandfather" Harry called entering Galen's and his nest chamber 'yes child?' Galen asked pulling Harry under his wing, "i want to change my name" Galen looked at him knowingly 'alright child, have you decided on a name?' "i want you to name me grandfather" he asked hopefully 'are you sure young one' Galen asked he needed to be sure this is what the child wanted "yes, the goblins said I will reach my inheritance soon, I want a new start grandfather" Harry pleaded into Galen's feathers "then I would be honored to fledgling" Harry smiled and hugged Galen around the neck.

It was when Harry was 13 he found out the truth of the wizarding world, the truth of his 'friendship' with ron and Hermione, and who Dumbledore truly was. He was being used, Dumbledore was drugging him with potions, loyalty, hate, love. The goblins said the amount of potions in his system should have killed him.

Harry woke, it was dark, he was covered in Galen's wing, his body felt fuzzy It Time! He thought happily, he woke Galen silently 'whats wrong young one?' the old thunderbird questioned "grandfather! Its time!" he said excitedly bouncing up and 'you sure little one?' "yes I feel fuzzy" he smiled before sitting 'don't forget it will hurt young one, but not for long. It will be easier asleep child' he nodded and cuddled into the warm feathers around him and fell back asleep.

He woke a while later to a burning pain ripping through him 'shh child it will be over soon' he heard Galen's voice calm him. It felt like an eternity before it was over but it was and he slumped into Galen's embrace 'child, I've chosen your name' "what is it grandfather?" he asked tiredly 'Hewlett' newly dubbed Hewlett smiled "i like it"

Hewlett woke, the sun was already high in the sky, he groaned, his body ached, 'Good morning child' Hewlett looked to Galen "how do I look?" 'adorable Fledgling' Hew pouted 'oh come now child look at me not with those eyes' Galen said with much amusement "hush your just a big bird" Hew said patting Galen's head.
