Joe stood, as so often, in front of the small downtown café in central London, wondering if it would make any difference to go inside. "Nothing's going to change anyway!" He muttered in thought and slowly reached out for the door that was only a few inches from his face. Today it was time again. His former best friend Marcus wanted to talk to him. There were apparently important things to be resolved, but Joe didn't feel compelled to do so. "It'll just be the same as before, anyway!" Joe muttered before opening the door with a swing and stepping into the warm café. As always, people ignored him. Nobody looked at him. Nobody greeted him. Nobody took notes from him as if he were invisible. And at that moment he saw him. Marcus, his former best friend, who became his enemy through an incident and a rumor. Joe sat down at the table. He didn't look at Marcus. Hoped too much that Marcus would just tell what was so important so that Joe could finally leave. But nothing of the sort happened. Instead, the two remained silent and neither dared to say a word. "I just don't understand it!" Finally burst out of Joe. "In school you don't pay attention to me, get out of my way and hang around with the cool ones and now you want to talk and just don't say anything!" Joe was angry. Angry at why the world that was actually so good has changed so badly. Why couldn't everything just stay the way it was? Why did everything have to break that he had laboriously built up? Joe just didn't understand it and stared at Marcus angrily and disappointed. "It just changed so much and we just don't fit together anymore in the new version of the world that opened up to me!" Marcus started and did not even cheat on Joe. "I didn't let you down because I hate you or something. I had to do it because we're going to move away! "Marcus looked at the table and didn't dare look into Joe's eyes. He didn't want to hurt him anymore like he already had. "You're moving away?" Suddenly Joe's anger was gone and he felt something completely different. Nostalgia. Longing for the person who has always been there for him. That one person should just be gone from one day to the next. How was his life ever going to get back to normal? "I just can't believe it!" Joe put his hands over his face and took a deep breath. "I don't want to leave here either, but my mother has a new friend and he has a house in California. My mother wants to move there and unfortunately I can't go to school here anymore! "Marcus just kept talking but Joe hardly listened properly. The words grew quieter and eventually faded completely. Joe was no longer in the real world but was somewhere else with his thoughts. Never again would he find someone who could become a friend like Marcus. No other person would ever be able to take this place again. The other people simply lacked the most necessary feelings that Joe needed for a true friend. Only Marcus had been like that. He was just that kind of person that everyone could immediately take to his heart without really knowing him. "Then the thing is done!" Interrupted Joe Marcus
in the middle of the conversation and stood up. He no longer wanted to talk to someone who just won't be there in the future. He no longer needs to tell someone like that about his worries, let alone his thoughts and secrets. For Joe the thing was done. "Wait Joe I-!" But Joe raised his hand and Marcus fell silent. "Just leave it, it no longer makes sense. I wish you a nice life! "Joe spoke the words down so that Marcus sat down without a word and looked down. Even if Joe never intended to hurt him, in such a case he just didn't have any more nerves. Joe left the cafe and ran angrily down the street. He had just lost the last person who was still there for him. Now he was all alone again.
And this is just the beginning of a Story, Joe won´t believe
