Summary: Small town high school senior Elsa heads to Los Angeles to see her grandparents, but her cousin and sister want to see their idol, pop sensation Jack Frost. One night she meets the pop star and the two start off on the wrong foot. However they go an adventure where feelings begin to rise.
Chapter One
Elsa had taken the liberty of sitting on the couch in the living room alone to finish reading her book because it was quiet and her room was currently occupied by her sister and cousin. While she never minded sharing a room with her younger sister, there were certainly moments where Elsa needed to get away and have some space to herself and this was one of those times. The two younger girls had been going crazy over some boy they didn't know and distracting her from reading. So the living room was perfect.
The high school senior, although fairly popular at her school and loved to spend time with others, tended to stay closer to the shadows and avoid being seen as often as possible. It was nicer that way. As she turned the page the sound of pounding footsteps and hurried voices entered her ears. Elsa barely managed to tilt her up when her younger sister, Anna, and cousin, Rapunzel, crashed into the living room breaking the peace she once had.
"Look out," Anna said jumping onto the open seat beside Elsa, "Quickly Zel! Turn it on."
"Where's the fire," Elsa asked with a raised brow.
Rapunzel rapidly turned surfed through the channels as she answered, "Anna's laptop died and we don't have time to look for her charger when we need to see Jack Frost!"
Elsa winced at the yell, "No need to yell, we can both hear you just fine."
"We're just so excited," Anna cheered with delight.
Rapunzel found the right channel to see that the performance was just about to start. Of course the two girls had already seen it, but now that it was playing again they needed to watch it one more time before leaving. The image on the screen showcased the announcer as he waved to the crowd. Rapunzel sat on the other side of Elsa, much to the platinum blonde's annoyance, but she was careful not to let it show on her face. It was moments like this she reminded herself how much she loved them. Anna reached over her to grab Rapunzel's waiting hands, both squealing with excitement as the announcer spoke.
Now Elsa had no way to escape as both Anna and Rapunzel had crowded over her due to their need to cling to each other as they couldn't get over the fact that the boy they obsessed over was about to appear on tv for the billionth time. While Elsa certainly looked up to some people she didn't know, it was never to the extent that her relatives.
The announcer spoke, "Ladies and gentlemen, Jack Frost!"
Anna and Rapunzel screamed with the audiences causing Elsa to groan, but she knew she shouldn't have been surprised. Ever since this Jack Frost rose to fame, it was all either Anna or Rapunzel could talk about and they certainly talked about him all the time. In all honesty, Elsa didn't see the appeal. His music was alright and his appearance wasn't hard to look at, but Elsa didn't understand why people were obsessed with him or why anyone was obsessed with celebrities for that matter.
The teen singer appeared on the screen wearing a white long sleeve shirt, blue vest and some brown pants. Although he was attractive, Elsa couldn't deny that, she didn't understand what the big deal was. He looked nice and his voice was good, but that was it. Though his stark white hair and blue eyes were what made him stand out, it really gave off the sense that he was a musical Jack Frost. A fairy tale that Elsa loved growing up, but didn't like on the singer.
Every girl, every boy, they got your posters on their walls. Photographs, autographs- soon as you step out the door you will meet the applause.
Anna practically swooned, "Isn't he amazing?"
Paparazzis hiding in the bushes- trying to make a dollar. Wanna be you, when they see you they scream out loud!
Starstruck, camera flashes cover of magazines, oh oh oh, Starstruck, designer sunglasses. Living the dream as a teen.
Driving fancy cars Hollywood Boulevard. Hear the crowd calling your name, yeah! Starstruck! Prepare to get... Starstruck! All right! Yeah! Starstruck Yeah! Yay-yeah!
Jack grabbed the microphone and walked to the edge of the stage as he sang, As soon as you move They gonna talk about it. In the paper, the news. They gonna talk about it. 'Cause you're on the A-list, You better believe it. You better believe it, yeah...
"Oh I just love him," Rapunzel gushed.
'Cause you're in the top spot And nothing can stop ya And nothing can stop ya! Starstruck-
"Girls," called Arianna as she carried in a laundry basket, "Suitcases. Come on and pick out your clothes and get packed. We're leaving for the airport right after school tomorrow."
Anna turned to her aunt with a dreamy grin, "In less than 24 hours, we'll be in Los Angeles where Jack lives!"
Rapunzel gasped, "What if he picks us up at the airport?"
"That would be amazing," Anna agreed.
Elsa couldn't hold back a scoff, "He doesn't even know you two exist. Why on earth would he pick us up at the airport?"
"We're original members of his fan club," Rapunzel replied as if it were obvious.
Anna faced Elsa with a matter of fact expression, "We follow his minute-by-minute blog posts, and text him every day."
"Trust us cousin, he wants to meet us," Rapunzel said full of confidence.
Elsa just shook her head with a grin at those words. Closing her book, Elsa stood from the couch to leave them to ogle at the screen while she made her way to the kitchen where her aunt was standing on the phone. It had been three years since Elsa and Anna had moved in to live with her aunt and uncle, never a dull moment. Elsa leaned onto the island with a desperate look that practically screamed save me.
Arianna offered her niece a reassuring smile. It was still hard for Arianna to believe her girls were all grown up, that Elsa would turn eighteen in a few weeks, then off to college, Rapunzel turning seventeen this past summer or Anna having her learner's permit. Time was moving too fast for her, but she knew it couldn't be helped. Eventually all three would be out in the world and doing their own thing.
"I see you've escaped to the kitchen," Arianna commented as her oldest niece sighed.
Elsa nodded, "Better here than there. I still don't understand why he's what they obsess over."
"Oh Elsa, you're going to miss this when you go off to college next year," Arianna said softly.
Elsa gave a weak shrug. "Perhaps, but it will be nice to not hear about 'Jack Frost' every other minute."
"Consider yourself lucky," her uncle Frederick said coming to her side, "We'll just have to tough it out huh?"
Elsa grinned at him.
"Everybody... There's more about Jack," Rapunzel called out smiling madly.
The TV host, Gothel, spoke, "The fabulous Jack Frost picked up six Music Association Awards last night, just in time for his new CD, Real Frost, to drop, wow, double platinum. I caught up with our favorite pop star on the red carpet."
The TV switched to show Jack Frost standing with his arms full of awards, his grin shining, "Well, first I'd love to say thank you so much for buying the records and coming to my concerts. You're the reason I love what I do. You guys are the best fans in the world. Thank you so much for believing me and continuing to support me."
Anna clapped, "He is such an amazing person."
Elsa rolled her eyes at that, "He certainly isn't amazing. Looks like another spoiled celebrity."
"He is not a spoiled celebrity," Rapunzel argued with a frown, "He's definitely amazing. And if you knew him like we know him, you wouldn't say things like that."
Elsa crossed her arms over her chest, "We live in Virginia. You don't know him, you've never met him."
"That's where you're wrong sister dear," Anna said rising to stand, "We know everything about him like where he works, eats, shops, surfs, and parties."
Rapunzel stood beside her cousin, "We know him very well Elsa. We should wow you with our trivia on the flight tomorrow."
Elsa blinked, "I'll pass, but thanks. Now go on, both of you haven't even started packing. Please get a move on."
"Whatever you say mom," Anna drawled with a good natured grin.
The two teens raced out of the living room to go upstairs to start packing as Elsa told them to, leaving the older girl momentarily stuck in her spot. It wasn't uncommon for Anna to say that to her due to how Elsa acted and because of how she looked. Elsa was practically the spitting image of her mother, aside from her nearly white hair. Sometimes when Anna said it made Elsa smile, but there were other times when it hurt more. Shaking her head, Elsa left the living room to go help her uncle load up the car.
Los Angeles, California
It was nearly ten o'clock at night. Jack Frost was currently sitting in the passenger seat of his best friend's, Hiccup, car outside of club Guardian. There was a cool party inside and Jack was all about parties, having a good time and all that stuff. Fun might as well have been his middle name if he was being honest. In the back seat were his other friends Flynn and Kristoff. Out of the four of them, the one least likely to have fun at the party was Hiccup, but he liked to spend time with his friends whenever possible so here he was.
"You ready to party," Flynn asked from the back seat, his grin wide.
Jack smirked, "Absolutely."
"Well, let's do it," Flynn replied climbing out of the car.
Kristoff and Hiccup followed a bit slower, but still ready to get moving. Jack had known Hiccup since he was child while he had met Kristoff and Flynn three years ago. Ever since they met at some gathering, the four had been inseparable. Jack and Flynn got along great, being the ones most likely to cause trouble while Hiccup aided from time to time and Kristoff usually did his best to keep them out of trouble.
Kristoff was dressed in blue jeans with a plain black shirt. He was a bit of a larger man and though he liked to present a tough act to the world, he was really a nice guy who fought only when he had to. There were moments when Jack considered hiring Kristoff to be his body guard, but he never really got around to it. Besides, he would prefer having Kristoff around as just his friend instead of his friend and bodyguard.
Hiccup had grown into himself. Before he was really lanky and small, but he had filled out, as Flynn would say. The two had been friends for years and Jack had seen his best friend through every stage, from awkward to outcast to jock to Mr popular to future vet and so forth. While the party scene was definitely not the place for Hiccup, Jack was happy that his friend was here with him tonight so they all could have a little bit of fun. Club Under 21 was the best place for teenagers like them to have a good time in the city.
Lastly there was Flynn wearing jeans with a blue-ish green leather vest over his white shirt. He was the wild child of the group, always looking for an adventure, ready to break the rules at a moments notice and just be the most unafraid of them. Growing as an orphan had taught Flynn to just be as much of himself a possible, if people weren't going to like him for who he was then he didn't want them around. Though he used to have a bit of a stealing problem, he was an incredibly loyal and caring friend that Jack could always count on.
Jack observed his friends for a moment longer. It made him happy to have them all around him tonight so they could have some fun together. With his crazy schedule only getting crazier, he was thrilled to just have some fun with them for an evening and be one of the guys. He loved the fame and it's perks, but there were certainly moments where just being one of the guys was enough for him.
"You know, out of all of your cars, Angelina's my favorite," Flynn said with twinkling brown eyes.
Hiccup blinked at him, "Angelina? That was the name you picked for my car?"
Flynn nodded, "Yeah. I mean, look at her. A real beauty. Great engine, perfect tires."
"I'm sorry, do you need a minute Flynn," Jack teased.
"Oh shut it Frost," Flynn said playfully shoving the white haired teen, "Come on, we gotta a club to see, girls to meet, songs to dance to and so much more."
"A real girl to find for you," Hiccup remarked.
"Hardy har har," Flynn said mockingly.
Kristoff frowned, "Oh look who it is."
The three guys turned to see Jack's publicity girlfriend, Alexis. It was safe to say none of his friends liked her, at all. When Jack and Alexis had started dating, each one of his friends told him it was a bad idea and that she wasn't good for him in the least. The blonde girl had her faults, but so did everyone else so Jack didn't see why it was that big of a deal. Besides, as long as he had her on his arm then the press left him alone about him seeing anyone which was good enough for him. Alexis spotted them, her grin wide as she walked over.
The two hadn't started dating by chance, which Jack found unfortunate. While Alexis was working on her acting career and Jack was putting out a song for the movie she was to star in, they started dating and hadn't stopped. Though they hadn't been together long, it was a wonder that they had made it this far. Not because they made each other unhappy or were bad together, but something was lacking between them.
"Hi, sweetie," she said greeting Jack.
Jack grinned, "Hey."
Alexis turned to his friends with a fake smile, "Hello boys."
"Hi," Hiccup said flatly.
Jack made a face at him before turning back to Alexis, "You look beautiful tonight."
Alexis smiled sweetly, "I know. Wait until you see what I'm wearing tomorrow."
"Tomorrow," Jack questioned with a frown.
"Tomorrow? My birthday," Alexis said with an expectant look, "Baby, you promised you were gonna sing."
Jack's eyes widened in realization, "Yeah, right... Hey, don't worry. I'll be there. Absolutely."
Alexis smiled sweetly at him, pacified by his words. She leaned into kiss him and he did the same, it was a very short and brief kiss, but a gentle one none the less. While Alexis wasn't exactly in love or passionate towards Jack, she had to admit he was a good guy and a semi decent kisser. Though there would no doubt come a time when she would have to move on to a bigger star, for now she was content.
"Well if you two are done, can we please head inside," Flynn said with an expectant look of his own.
"Of course," she said turning to walk inside, but then stopped, "Wait. Something's wrong here."
"Yeah, you're here," Flynn commented dryly.
Jack tapped Flynn's shoulder, "Really man?"
Flynn made a face, "It's guys night out. Not guys and girlfriend frosty."
Alexis, ignoring their words, looked around with a pout, "Where are the paparazzi?"
"Oh, you did not blog again, did you," Hiccup said with a deep frown.
Jack absolutely hated the paparazzi, okay well hate was an incredibly strong word, but he did not like their presence at all. They were obsessed with following him around, trying to know every single detail about him and what he was doing, where he was going, who was going to be there and so much more. As a child, Jack always hated the idea of being invisible and forgotten. Yet when it came to the press, there were moments he wished he couldn't be seen.
After a moment of silence two black vans, filled with reporters and their cameras appear to see them at the front. Their words muddling together, the subject being Jack. While of course Jack loved being the center of attention, there were moments like these when he was out with his friends and just wanted to be left alone. A smile graced his features as he did his best to hide his disappointment and discomfort at being bombarded with questions as well as the flashing lights.
"That's so weird," Alexis said clinging to his arm, "Hi."
Jack did his best to keep his smile going, but the paparazzi just kept getting closer and closer. Their directions of look here or do this or answer this started to echo in his mind, he could feel a headache coming on the longer he remained there. Not to mention the closer they got, the more trapped and caged he felt which was not something that sat well with him in the least.
It was Hiccup who noticed that his best friend was about to lose it first, but he didn't get the chance to get close to him as the paparazzi had pushed him aside and leaving room only for their other black dressed members. Jack's temper snapped when the reporters practically shoved a camera in his face, blinding him for a brief moment and tipping him over the edge.
"All right, back-back up, guys," he said with his hand raised, "Come, please this is too close."
The paparazzi, or nightmares, as Jack often called them didn't seem to hear him or if they did hear him, didn't care what he was saying and continued to push forward. It was becoming too overwhelming for Jack and he couldn't hold back his angry screams.
"Back up! Back up! Get away from me! Okay, back up, back up, back up, back up, back up! Go!"
