Unexpected Blending

Disclaimer: I don't own Stargate or make any money from writing this, only the joy of getting the story from my head :) It is however day 1 of my quarantine for this Coronavirus, so while I am trying to work from home others aren't and it makes my job a little hard to do. So writing time!

At the beginning of every chapter I will let you know who I had in mind for any new characters.

Chapter 1: Chaos

People were bundled up as they rushed to their final destinations, the fog was thick in Sacramento this morning and it proved difficult to look past the opposite side of the street. Which wasn't too out of the normal for the valley area in the early parts of the year.

Three young women were headed towards their office when suddenly there was an odd sound as what looked like small aircraft flew low between the buildings around them. The brunette grabbed her two friends, "This isn't right, we need to get inside."

They were halfway across the street trying to get into a small coffee shop when the first explosion was heard followed by more. Screams and crying started to grow she basically dragged her friends, "Mallory! Candice! Come on!"

The three girls struggled through the now panicked crowd when another explosion went off right above them and suddenly Candice was gone. Where she had been just a second ago there was a pile of debris ten feet high.

Mallory grabbed her arm, "Emilia we need to go!"

Emilia's blue eyes were as big as saucers as she let Mallory take over pulling her along. Her glasses sliding down the bridge of her nose. Finally snapping out of her haze she slid her glasses back up and ran on her own away from the crumbling city around them. Her scarf got snagged on something jerking at her neck until she freed herself from the hindering piece of cloth.

It seemed like time was speeding up and slowing down simultaneously as they ran. After a while she realized that there were more aircraft above this time firing at the original ships. The pair found an alley that seemed untouched and leaned up the wall to catch their breath. "Mal...Mallory. What in the heck is happening?"

Blast!

The brick next to them seemed to explode as a Jaffa dressed like a metal monster stepped out with a large staff, "Tauri, Kree!"

They turned to run the opposite direction only to find another being blocking their path. Suddenly they were overcome with pain as the Jaffa they ran from fired a stunning blast at the two causing them to fall unconscious to the ground.

In various places around the city, people were being rounded up and placed into transportation ships.

The Air Force tried with all their might to stop the attack that only lasted a few minutes. However multiple ships filled with humans took off to their mother ship.

Mallory and Emilia clung to each other as they were forced through the tall corridor of the ship they'd boarded. Once the young women had been tossed into an over crowded cell did they really have time to process what had just happened. Suddenly the room lurched and a strange feeling took over everyone for a moment before it disappeared.

Emilia led Mallory over to a wall where they hunkered down. Mallory rested her head against Emilia's shoulder, but not a word was spoken as they observed a group getting more outraged by the second.

Emilia just shook her head while trying to wipe the moisture building in her eyes without removing her glasses, "There is no point to your yelling, you know there is no rescue right now. You are just going to get those… things to come back here again. You should probably rest in case there is an opportunity to get away."

After a few more shared words, the rest of the people sat in various parts of the cell that they were in.

Glancing out Emilia could see at least two other cells filled with people, however nothing to show where they were. There were no windows and the door looked to be solid with no handle.

Sighing she laid her head back against the wall and kept her eyes trained on the door wondering when they would be back for them.

General Hammond stood at the front of the table in the briefing room, "As most of you have seen on the news. Earth has been attacked by Jaffa. They landed in northern California attacking their state capital. Many lives were lost today on more than one account. The military has stepped in and begun clearing the debris to find the unfortunate souls who were killed today."

He looked around the table gravely at SG1 and SG2 along with their allies the Tok'Ra. "The Jaffa were seen loading ships with people before taking off. Preliminary reports indicate that they took around ninety people. We are still trying to solidify the numbers."

He looked at the group, "Now, can someone tell me why this happened? And How?"

Captain Carter hesitantly answered, "The symbol on their armor is Hathor's, we encountered her two years ago when she attempted to overthrow the base Sir."

Selmak nodded, "Samantha is correct from the images that we have seen. The Tok'Ra have also been hearing rumors about a minor goa'uld trying to regain their position. If it is indeed Hathor, then she already knew you had an abundance of people to enslave and first hand information on your planet's defenses from her time here.."

"Well we need to get our people back." Jack spoke out before turning back to Hammond, "Sir."

"You are correct Colonel, however we need more information to do so." He turned to Selmak once more, "Your information. Does it have a location?"

Lantesh was the one to speak up, "Unfortunately not. What are the chances of your people fighting back and returning home on their own? Or at least making a big enough statement to draw attention?"

Daniel's eyebrows rose for a moment before putting a look of defeat, "Remember people on our planet, for the most part, don't know there are others out there. They will most likely be in shock. Sure there might be a few to fight back, we are the top of the food chain on earth. Humans pose the biggest threat here. They won't know how powerful the Goa'uld are until they experience it. A few stubborn ones will pressist, but most will likely just try to survive till help comes."

Lantesh nodded, "We will send out word to our operatives to look out for anyone using the word 'Earth', most will call you Tauri, not people of Earth."

Daniel flushed as he fumbled around with the papers in front of him, "Add Earthlings to your list. And the phrase 'we come in peace'. They are in a lot of science fiction movies, some might use them."

Lantesh looked unsure, but Salmak cracked a smile and they knew Jacob was bringing Selmak up to speed, "We will. Please keep us updated with any additional information if it arises."

As the room emptied an Airman rushed in the room directing his attention to General Hammond, "Sir, we have reports that the enemy ships have opened a hyperspace window and jumped. They are no longer on our radar Sir."

Hammond nodded and excused the man as he looked at O'Neill. "I have never lost this many civilians in a single day."

Teal'c raised a brow, "I have. Unfortunately, this planet was spared many generations of suffering at the hands of the Goa'uld. They are now at the mercy of the Goa'uld. Your planet has a population that surpasses all the Goa'uld fighters, however most cannot fight. They will need to be trained if they are to survive. Now that you have successfully been attacked, others will come."

Hammond nodded, "Yes the President is going to be addressing this live tonight during a world summit meeting. The announcement will be broadcast all over the globe and translated for all to understand. He is standing with the other nation leaders that are aware of the Stargate program. Since the attack happened on U.S. soil they are having our President make the announcement."

Televisions around the globe flickered as the image of the President of the United States of America sitting behind his desk. Not a sound could be heard as mothers and fathers kept their children close. Everyone wanted to hear what he was going to say.

"Good Evening,

Tonight I address not only the United States of America, but the world. Our world.

Today our way of life and our freedom came under siege in a swift and deadly otherworldly attack from the vast galaxy around our small planet.

The attack occurred this morning at 07:00 in Sacramento, California and surrounding cities as many men, women and children were out and on their way to start their Tuesday morning. Hundreds of lives were suddenly ended by this otherworldly attack as the buildings around them crumbled from the blasts from the ships.

Your local news, facebook, and other sites showing strange spacecrafts flying between buildings, chaos, and people running for their lives, have filled us with a numbness and both physical and mental trauma as we wait for answers.

Today, the world received a loud answer to the question that has been asked since humanity began their search of the skies. Are we alone?

The obvious answer to that is no. No, we are not alone in the galaxy, while we are alone in our specific solar system, the galaxy is a much larger and more vast place.

Once I was aware of what happened in California, I immediately enacted our government's emergency response plans. Our emergency teams are working in California, to help with local rescue efforts.

Many volunteers have stepped forward today to help find the missing individuals under the rubble that was once the state capital of California. FEMA and Military operations are onsite and we are awaiting further information on the number missing and the number of those who lost their lives."

The President paused before reading to himself once more.

"Today I am formally announcing that our people, and by our people, I mean people of Earth, have recently discovered a way to explore the galaxy that has not been possible for a long time. We have made allies and even friends to help us in these times. We have received offers of aid and assistance from these new allies in our galaxy to hopefully find the unfortunate ones that were seen taken into ships and bring them home.

Unfortunately, the world saw the evil in this galaxy first, while we have friends and allies there is a great danger there too. Our people have been shielded by this knowledge since our ancestors rebelled around 3,000 B.C. and hid the doorway to the galaxy. We are currently working together to discover further information about our new role in this galaxy. The secret organization is based in the United States at an undisclosed location.

This program which had been named as the Stargate Program, not only includes individuals from the United States, but countries from around the globe. We are involved and contributing to our joint primary intent of this program which is exploration to procure knowledge and advanced technologies that could benefit the protection of Earth and its inhabitants.

This information was intentionally kept secret to protect the people of Earth, and while today has been a horrible experience we have been able to defend this planet many times over in the years since the program was started.

The search is underway for those who were lost in the rubble and the skies by our people and allies here on Earth and new neighbors.

The people of Earth and our friends and allies join with all those who want peace and safety in the galaxy and we stand together to win the war against our joint enemies.

Tonight our existing thought that we are safe on our planet has been shattered, however I pray that our relationships grow with our friends and allies to where we can find a new peace. I ask for your prayers for all those who grieve and search for loved ones. For those that are alone somewhere out in the galaxy hoping for some sign from home.

Each of our great countries have stood down enemies before, this time we will do it together as one. None of us will ever forget this day, we will fight through this, we will heal. We are no longer a planet with multiple countries divided. We are the people of Earth and we will stand our ground and fight for our freedom together.

Thank you. Good night and God bless America."

The world sat in shock as the image of the President changed to the House Speaker standing at a podium with the American Flag hanging behind him.

"Please let's get started, I have time for a few questions but not many." She saw the room erupts with voices and hands before pointing to a reporter near the front, "Yes?"

The reporter stood as the room quieted, "Did we know this attack was coming? Who were they?"

Nodding, "Two questions, but okay. No we were not aware that an attack was planned for today. This unfortunately came without warning. As for who they were it is a complicated question, they are soldiers for a race known as the Goa'uld. They are not friendly."

The speaker looked around the room signaling to another reporter, "How many have been recovered so far in California?"

Glancing at the note cards in front of him, "The numbers are still coming in. Currently there are ninety-two confirmed deceased, two hundred and thirty-two requiring medical assistance and one hundred and thirty-five missing, we will not be releasing names at this time."

Pointing to another, "How long has the world been participating in the Stargate Program? Why was the public not informed? They had a right to know before now."

Stacking his papers, "The Stargate was discovered in 1928 in Egypt, however it was not understood how to use the gate until just a few years ago. As for your other questions, it was a classified military program under many countries." Looking around, "Also, there will be no vacations off world no matter how rich you are. This is a military operation and the public is not invited to start their own explorations at this time. The military has pulled in top civilian scientists to join the operations as well. We will not be accepting applications, if you are good enough they will reach out to you. It is not a right to know military secret operations."

Tucking the papers under his arm he nodded, "That is all for today thank you."

The room erupted in reporters yelling out more unanswered questions.
