Chapter 1: Fools Make A Resolution (Not-Cannon.)
"Sensei, do you have a New Years Resolution."
"Funny you should ask, Hikigaya. Well, you know this year I'm feeling quite lucky, you know. So, I think, without a doubt, this is the year that I'm finally gonna get married."
"...So that's your New Year's Resolution?"
"I don't like that long pause of yours before you asked that question, Hikigaya. Just what are you trying to say exactly?"
Hikigaya Hachiman, third year, coughed and looked away.
He also made the mistake of ignoring her question for a statement of his own.
"...Well then, mine is getting a girlfriend."
"..."
"..."
"..."
"...Wait a-"
Hiratsuka Shizuka punched him in the gut.
Twice.
Then she left him, writhing on the ground, to visit the temple for her start of the year prayer.
Tch, that would teach him to be a smart ass, Shizuka thought.
"You weren't being a smart ass."
Hikigaya Hachiman looked at her. "You need to be a bit more specific, Shizuka."
Hiratsuka Shizuka looked at her boyfriend. "Back in your third year. You said, your New Year's Resolution was getting a girlfriend."
He winced and rubbed a sore spot in his belly. "I remember."
"Huh." Shizuka said, "That's kinda strange."
"What is?" Hachiman asked.
"Nothing, it's just," Shizuka looked at him with a smile. It was a smile which said, I love you. "You're the only one I know who ever stuck to their New Year's Resolution." She made a pout and punched the throw pillow on the couch a couple of times. "Congratulations. You are better than me. But I forgive you because you make me happy." She then yanked him down by pulling his tie. "You know what else will make me happy, Hachiman?"
"...A kiss?" He asked, trying.
"..."
"..."
"...Wait a sec-"
Hiratsuka Shizuka tried to suffocate him with the throw pillow.
For three seconds only.
Then they had hot passionate make up sex.
Only he didn't knew it was make up sex.
Because he thought, that it was normal for her to try to kill him when he did something stupid.
In her defense, she was never that good at cooking.
Well, it's nice to eat out every once in a while, Shizuka thought.
"That time you tried to suffocate me with a pillow-"
Hiratsuka Shizuka bated her eyelashes and leaned in to whisper in his ears. "Are you having second thoughts? Now? At the reception dinner, Hikigaya?"
Hachiman reached for her hand. His fingers grazed over the silver band of her ring. "Of course not, Mrs. Hikigaya."
Hikigaya Shizuka, blushed and pinched the thigh of her husband. It was all good. The table cloth blocked the view. "Say that again, anata~"
Now it was his time to blush. He focused on the plate in front of him. "Mrs. Hikigaya," Shizuka looked at him. She never looked more beautiful. The wedding dress was white as well. He thought of her in that lab coat of hers and smiled. But he needed to ask. "That time we were talking about New Year's Resolution, you asked me, what would make you happy?"
"What followed did make me happy that night. And, I'm looking forward to that happening tonight. Except for the misunderstanding which followed the next morning, of course."
Hachiman blushed at the memory. "Yeah, I know already that you are a happy bride." Then he coughed and reached for the water. He tried to remain focused."But, that night, you wanted this, right?"
Shizuka looked ahead. "I don't know what you are talking about."
She blushed and looked away.
Feeling embarrassed.
"I married a fool," His newly wedded wife said with a shake of her head. "I mean, could I have been more obvious that night?"
"Well you could have asked." Her fool of a husband said with a simple chuckle.
She smiled.
"..."
"..."
"...Not the hand-"
Hikigaya Shizuka stabbed at the fish on his plate with a knife.
She then picked it up and placed it on her plate.
She then ate it whole.
She then spitted out the bone.
And licked her lips, sinfully.
Hachiman gulped.
The rest of the wedding attendees didn't know any better.
They thought, it was romantic.
Hachiman knew better.
"Um, Mrs. Hikigaya."
"..."
"..."
"Okay, I forgive you." Shizuka smiled. "But, say that again, anata~"
