When Gravity Falls
July 4th,2022
Dipper pines knew not to trust certain people, specifically Bill.
Especially Bill.
However, as the saying goes, desperate times call for desperate measures, and these were certainly desperate times. His daughter, Lily, his pride and joy, was sick, terribly sick.
Dipper couldn't just sit back and watch.
He had to do something, had dealt with much worse things.
He should've been able to figure it out. Figure something out.
But he couldn't. So he did what any parent would do.
He saved his daughter.
He had to. She was all he had left. She and Wendy
Everyone else had turned on him.
Ford, stan, soos, pacifica.
Mabel.
He had to save her.
But how.
"Daddy," Lily whispered.
"Daddy,"
"Hm, ah yes," he replied not hearing her the first few times.
"Do you know what today is?" She asked hopefully.
"Um no actually what day is it sweetheart."
"Fourth of july!'' She yelled,"Can we go to the fireworks?"
" I don't know about that."
"Why not, what could go wrong man?" Wendy replied surprisingly.
"I mean, if you both want to."
" Yea daddy lets go lets go lets go"
"Hmmmm"
"Come man.
"Alright." He said with a smile on his face.
Suddenly the world didn't seem so bad.
-2hours later-
"You two go ahead, I'll be at the park in an hour," Dipper said happily.
Things would not stay happy.
He went inside to get some snacks, he grabbed a large bag of doritos and a pitt cola six pack.
He went to get a towel for the park, but before he got there someone tapped his shoulder.
He turned around and found none other than Robbie Valentino, black hoodie and all.
"Hey man, I thought that was you," Robbie said worriedly," How are you holding up."
"Oh, uh, fine i guess."
"That's good man, what's been happening."
"Oh nothing much we're just going to the park now for fireworks."
"We're? Ok. Um, listen you gotta go back to Gravity Falls man, everyones worried about you. It wasn't your fault.""I-I- uh-I I gotta go, see you around." Dipper said in a rush, He ran forgetting the towel or even to check out.
"What was he even doing in California, he was supposed to be in the falls with Tambry" He thought.
He tried to shut it out of his mind but he just couldn't.
"God I must be losing my mind."
Over the next 30 minutes he thought about what he said.
"Everyone's worried about you"
The words were on a loop in his mind.
"No, he's lying it's a trap, not after you left."
"But the more you prolong it, the worse it's gonna be."
"No, they couldn't have forgiven you by now."
"They're your friends Dipper, go back."
"No, be logical, why would they."
That was the conclusion, he wouldn't go back, not yet. As he pulled into the park Wendy and Lily were waiting for him in the field.
"Hey over here" Wendy yelled.
Dipper parked next to them and grabbed the pitt and chips and put them on the trunk.
He picked up lily and put her on the trunk as well.
"WWWHHEEE!"
Dipper and Wendy laughed and finally sat down themselves.
"Where's the towels dude,"
"Oh i'm sorry I forgot them."
"Alright it's cool, we don't need towels"
"Alright who wants a pitt"
"Is that even a question man of course I do." Wendy grabbed one.
"Ooh I want one daddy!" Lily grabbed one too.
"Eeny meeny miny, you." dipper grabbed a pitt cola and opened the chips.
As the fireworks started Dipper looked at his family and felt warm. As Lily fell asleep Dipper began to feel sleep too so he put Lily in the car and went back out and sat by Wendy.
-The Next Morning-
Dipper woke up and looked up and found he was in his car.
He looked at his watch.
"Oh god its 11 o'clock"
When nobody responded he looked behind him and his family was nowhere to be found.
"LILY! WENDY! WHERE ARE YOU!" He said getting out of the car
"Where am I"
A look of pure terror arrived on his face as he realized where he was.
