A/N: This takes place at the end of Killers Of The Dawn, leading into Lake Of Soul's. Read and please review, I'd like to know how I'm doing.

It was an normal productive work day or atlest it started that way. Working at my desk, I hear a lost voice echoing in my ear, someone I've never heard before. Distant and urgent the voice sounds, before saying a line of word's that send a chill down my tired spin.

"The Wheels Of Fate Are Turning!" The lost feminine spoke before vanishing just as fast as it occurred. I quickly shake it off as stress before turning back to my diligent work. But Then-

My office phone rings sereval time before stopping, it was a call-sign. Some one close is reaching out to me in dire straights. I quickly flip through the memo on my desk, which is perfectly tidy and organized.

One Rings- Lisa Wilans: My Mother.

Two Rings- Senica Douglas: My Older Sister.

Three Rings- Debbie Hemlock: My BFF.

Everything else was business realted. It was three rings. Debbie needed my help, it was early in the afternoon, if she needed me should would call when I'm at home. Something was up. Leaving for my lunch break I grab my sandwich from the fridge and head outside towards the office plaza. Usually my cellphone needs to be off during work but seeing how it was a break, I turn the puppy one and sit somewhere full of shade.

"Hey Debbie, what's the matter. I got the call sign."

"Bergan I'm glad you got the sign, I need a favor?" Debbie said sightly hesitant over the phone.

"How big?" I ask.

"It's huge, seriously how much time do you have to talk. And keep what I'm about to tell you to yourself."

"I'm on lunch, so tell what the favor is?"

Debbie didn't go to much into detail but she stressed enough the emergency taking place. I would do just about anything for her, so I have to plan accordingly. She talked about stuff I didn't want to believe but for now I had to take her word. Then she told me one last thing?"

"How long will it take you to get back to our hometown?"

"I'll be at the station Saturday evening, I need to pack and register my vacation time.

"Perfect, can't wait to see you Saturday, Bergan!" Debbie beam over the phone.

"Me neither, it been awhile best friend!" I said with a happy tone over my voice.

The call ended and I had much to think over. I slowly eat my sandwich and think about heading back home.. I haven't seen my mother in over six years. Different countries we are in and although connected by rail, it shouldn't take more the 26 hours if I leave Thursday night. And today is Wednesday.

Heading upstairs to my office, I unpack my bag by the desk and shuffle in to boss's office. He was stationed at his desk, like a man overseeing a war in progress. His militant style to sauve personality show signs he was a force to be reckoned. He motion his finger forward glance at me and pointed to a seat at the opposite side of his desk, awhile on the phone with a client.

His legs are crossed as he sits, it's a habit showing hesitation. But his silk pants and warm brown loafers lean precariously under the desk. His white dress shirt, button and pressed, his black blazer adjecent on a coat rack. To his black and blue Rolex adorn on his right hand, screams wealthy bachelor. The envy of many. But this man less define by what he wore and looked worried. By the time he got off the phone with the client, I felt dread knot in my stomach as I fear asking him about my time off.

"Wilans what can I help you with?" He said typing at his computer.

"Mr. Dole, I'm need to request my two years work of vacation, I have a emergency back home.

"I see, well you have been doing a bangup job lately and you've accumulated all sick day, personal time off and vacation days for the last two years. If my calculations are correct you're entitle to three months of paid time off. Is that enough time, to assort affairs?"

"More then enough, I should be back within that time frame prehaps earlier."

"Alright Bergan, your time off starts effective immediately. Leave your log record on your desk and I'll see you when you return."

I waved at my boss and rushed out of his office and back to mine and began to pack and leave the nesscary materials for my replacement during the duration.

I checked out for the day, grab the bus up the block and rode home to my two stories condo. I should have a car, but I have the fear of driving and this way it's less emissions on my part if I don't dirty the airways. So public transportation is my best option. It's a three minutes walk from my condo, and a ten minute ride to work. My main priority is packing, buying my train tickets and finding my Visa.

Once home, I'm welcome to a very minimalistic condo, not overly filled with excess furniture or personal knick knacks. Only what I needed. I place the coffee maker on to brew as I take off my dress clothes and change into regular street clothes. I swipe my debit card which has a nice sum on it which is about to be full once again Friday for my pay check, then comes my weekly vacation check. It's easy to have every thing on a card. I run down stairs to the bank around the corner and get in line to take out over three grand.

Once I'm done I head back home, go to management office and pay three months rent in advance. I wasn't sure how long I'd be away and I'd like a home to come back to. Once upstairs I make myself a fancy hazelnut coffee and head into my personal den where I store paperwork and my desktop.

Sipping my coffee, I browse online for train tickets. This time I use my credit card to book a one way trip on the European rail from Prague to Cardiff. Good ole England here I come. Placing my cellphone on the charger, I recline on my computer chair and finish the last of the coffee.

Home, it's changed since I left. Will people remember me, beside Debbie and Mom? My big sister is in France and I don't have time to go there for a visit. Debbie sounded awfully despite, so of course she'd be my priority. I'd never leave her hanging with out help.
