The afternoon was Lucoa's favorite part of the day. Around this time, Shouta would come home from school and save her from boredom. Shouta's parents were out almost all the time, and there wasn't much around the house to keep Lucoa entertained besides dull reality shows about washed up celebrities.
When the doorbell rang, Lucoa immediately rushed to open the door and saw the person she'd been waiting for. She tried to hug him, but he quickly walked past her. This was a bit unusual, as he normally let her hold him while pretending he didn't like it.
Shouta sat on the couch without saying a word. His expression looked a bit more upset than his usual neutral face. Lucoa sat down next to him, making him scoot away slightly.
"Shouta? What's wrong?"
No response. She then did the first thing that came to mind and kissed him on the cheek. That got his attention, as he was now staring up at her, looking quite confused.
"Shouta, you're worrying me. Can you tell me what's wrong?" asked Lucoa as she moved closer to Shouta.
Shouta hesitated, but he gave in. "Um... I... I failed the math test!"
Lucoa was a little underwhelmed. 'That's it? A test? I was expecting something worse. I'm relieved, though.'
She then gently wrapped her arms around Shouta. "It's just a test. It's not the end of the world. You'll be fine, I promise."
Shouta was embarrassed, but he leaned into Lucoa's embrace. 'This feels... nice.' he thought.
The two stayed like this. Shouta eventually fell asleep, though he soon woke up. Lucoa commented about how cute he looked while sleeping, making him blush and look away.
"Hey, Shouta."
He looked back up at Lucoa as she smiled at him.
"Love you."
Shouta looked away once more, though he muttered something that sounded like "you too".
Lucoa leaned on him a bit. "I didn't catch that. Could you repeat that, please?"
Shouta's face was bright red, and he was struggling to talk. "I... I... I-I love you too!"
Now it was Lucoa's turn to blush. She kissed Shouta on the cheek again and ran her hand through his hair. "I've been waiting for this. I knew you'd admit it eventually."
Shouta said nothing, though he rested his head on Lucoa's chest without realizing it. The two stayed like this as they fell asleep.
————————————————————————
While I take a break from The Quirky Devil, I will be writing other things like this. I'm also working on another oneshot that will be longer than this one.
This is a shorter oneshot, but it wouldn't leave my mind so I had to write it out regardless of length.
Shouta and Lucoa are adorable together, I'm surprised there aren't more fics about them. I'm an /ss/-loving degenerate, so naturally I'd prefer these kinds of pairings.
I didn't really channel all of my brainpower into this one, so I'm sorry if you don't think it's very good. It's just a fun little thing I wanted to write, so don't take it seriously.
'Till next time!
