Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon. I make no money from this. It was only written for fun.

Pokemon. Just what exactly can we say about them? Well, we can truthfully say that they are the most amazing creatures to roam about this world.

Pokemon come in all different shapes and sizes. They fly in the open skies, they swim in deep waters, and they inhabit numerous other places, ranging from dense forests, right down to households where they are kept as pets. But what about Pokemon that truly makes them so awe-inspiring to so many people are the special powers and abilities each one possesses.

From region to region, people and Pokemon have lived together for many thousands of years. One of these regions is the Kanto region, which is where our story begins.

The weather in the Kanto region's Pallet Town was currently warm and sunny, making conditions perfect for what was the last day of Professor Oak's summer camp. Since today was the final day, the kids at the camp were free to do pretty much whatever they wanted.

Among the kids at the camp was a seven-year-old boy with messy raven-black hair and brown eyes. His name was Ash Ketchum. Ash was currently running wildly about the camp's wide-open field trying to get as much enjoyment out of this day as he could. He really enjoyed his time at camp and was disappointed that it was already almost over.

Ash stopped running around though upon hearing what sounded like a few voices nearby. They were rather loud and they sounded like they were arguing. Ash turned his attention to the side of the field and saw three of the other camp kids.

One of them was a boy with spiky brown hair, and another was a pretty girl with sleek black hair that went down her back. They were standing in front of another girl with chin-length black hair that was bobbed, though much of it was covered by the red flower hat she was wearing.

Ash knew the other boy and the longer-haired girl fairly well. Unfortunately, not many of the memories Ash had made with these two were pleasant ones. The other girl had been a much more infrequent sight. The few times that Ash did see her, she was always by herself and really seemed to just not want to socialize with anyone. The one time Ash had tried to interact with her made that quite clear.

Taking a good look at the three of them, Ash could tell that they clearly were not getting along.

Oooh, what's going on with these kids? And who are they? Find out next chapter!
