Hello, Blaster 2.0 here! I have moved this story from my sister's account over to my own. She will be at least my editor still.

Disclaimer: I own nothing but my characters and story.

Prologue

After purchasing my lunch, I went over to my usual spot and sat down. Internally, I smiled. My favourite lunch at my favourite diner, sitting in my favourite spot in the corner of the large room.

Of course, the seat and table that I occupied might as well have my name on it. I can recall at least one time I had to ask someone to move. The other usuals that frequented this diner knew that it was my spot. Others got the idea pretty quick if they didn't.

As I ate, I kept an optic on my surroundings. It was highly unlikely that someone would approach me with ill intentions, but you never could be too careful.

Cybertron may not be at war anymore, but there was still unrest.

And like the Earthen saying goes, old habits die hard.

The diner wasn't busy this orn, just to my liking. There were several usual customers, all minding their own business with their own friends and acquaintances.

All leaving me in my corner alone.

That was, I found out shortly, soon to change.

Halfway through my lunch, a mecha strolled in through the front doors, making the bell on the door jingle with its somewhat annoying noise.

I paid him no mind after giving him a quick glance, going back to my lunch.

The mech ordered at the counter, then stood, one hand on the counter as he leaned against it. I couldn't help but notice as he scanned the room.

"Probably looking for a seat or for a friend he was supposed to meet," I thought.

His gaze passed over my corner and then returned.

"There's plenty of other seats, buddy. Don't you dare come over here," I thought, staring back at the mech.

He continued staring, but I couldn't quite figure out his expression.

Was it disbelief? Curiosity? Why was he staring at me? Did he think he could come over here and do something to me?

My foot tapped on the floor in annoyance. It'd be great if the mech just went away. I wasn't in the mood for a confrontation of any kind. All I wanted to do was have my lunch in peace.

Apparently, the mech cared not for my wishes. Not that he knew them. Cause I sure didn't talk to him first.

Receiving and paying for his lunch, the mech turned and walked towards my table.

"Turn. Turn. Go over there. There's lots of nice tables by the window if you like that sort of thing. Or ones over there if you don't. I don't care, just go away," I thought, sending the mech a glare as he continued his approach.

The mech's face split in a broad grin as he reached the table. He lifted a servo and pointed towards the table's lone occupant. Which of course, was me.

"Hey, aren't you that Iron Blade fella?"

I frowned. "Yes. I am. What of it?"

The mech kept grinning and shook his helm. "I knew it was you! Wow, never thought I'd meet you faceplate to faceplate. This is so cool. Hey, you mind if I sit here?"

Glancing at the mech pointing to the chair across from me, I sighed a very deep sigh.

"Go ahead. I don't care. Great."

Ignoring or missing my unwelcome tone, the mech sat down and promptly began to eat.

The two of us sat in silence for several kliks.

"So," the mech said, through a mouthful of whatever it was he was eating. "What made you decide to become a gladiator? Or a Decepticon for that matter?"

Frowning in disgust at the mech, I shook my helm. "Since it seems I won't be rid of you anytime soon, I might as well tell you.

"And, well, if you want to know, you have to know the proper story. So, I will start at the beginning."

"Oh, okay," said the mech, continuing to eat his lunch.

"When I was young," I began, getting a far-away look in my optics, not that anyone could see that because of my visor. "I was really, really, really, really, really- "

"Ugly?" interrupted my unwanted company. Again, through a mouthful of food.

I stared at him.

Angrily.

Much offended, I snappily replied, "NO!"

Jumping at my sudden raise of volume, the mech then questioned, "Well, what were you going to say?"

"Adorable," I growled. "Now if you don't mind, I was telling you my story here..."

"Oh! Yeah, yeah. Sorry, go ahead!"
