Disclaimer: I am not Cassandra Clare! These are not my characters! If they were… I would probably die of excitement.
Alec and Magnus are married, Rafael is five, and Max is around two(I forget if that his exact age or not). And yes, I know that Malec don't get married until Rafael is around seven, unless I'm remembering wrong, but yeah. I am aware that this is not how it is in the books.
Alec looked over at Magnus, who was twirling his glittering fingers casually in the air, creating ringed puffs of blue smoke for Max to giggle at. He sighed. He loved his family, and his friends, but couldn't help but be a little more than worried for Rafael today. It was the poor kid's first day of training with Jace.
Ever since he had brought Rafael back from Buenos Aires, Jace had been bothering Alec to bring him for a little training session on the basics of shadowhunting, knife throwing, and stabbing. The perfect environment for a five year old. Obviously, Rafael had been very excited at the prospect of learning how to defend oneself and make sure that one's enemy was 100% dead, but Alec could still worry, couldn't he?
After all, Rafael was only five. He was young, and Jace could be a little… eccentric. Magnus was apprehensive, though had eventually agreed when Isabelle promised to organize a date night for them somewhere in London, a place that Magnus had always liked.
Alec had no particular affections for London. A date night was always nice, but did it have to be London? Magnus could probably just snap his fingers and whisk them there in a heartbeat, if he wanted to.
He missed Rafael. What could possibly be going on at the institute, anyway? What if Rafe got hurt? Besides, shouldn't Alec be allowed to train his own son himself?
Son. The moment the thought entered his mind, Alec felt a warm feeling in his chest. Rafael and Max were his boys, his sons, and Magnus was his husband. The words all felt a little strange in his mouth when he said them, but they still sounded right.
More right than anything else. Perfect. And as long as Alec could have those words, have his family… well, everything would be fine.
Alec walked over to Magnus and gave him a quick kiss before murmuring, "Rafe will alright, won't he?"
Magnus shrugged, the glittering robed cloth hanging off of his shoulders shining and creating sparkles that danced around the room. Max giggled and grabbed for it, and Alec picked him up and put him on his lap.
"If he isn't," Magnus said, "I'll finally have an excuse to murder that arrogant blonde parabatai of yours."
Alec grinned and bent down to kiss Max on his curly blue hair, no longer worried about whatever sort of trouble Rafe would undoubtedly get into with Jace.
He had his boys, all three of them, who would each get into trouble in their lives, no doubt. But as long as they were always there for each other… they would be okay.
Yeesh. I'm not sure how I feel about that ending, but whatever. Please review! I appreciate it!
