Who is he trying to convince with his lie? Mizuki Kaho's sudden disappearance has really weighed him down for ten years. Ten whole years. Not a single letter, not even just a goodbye. No farewell kiss.
They have already discussed their future. She is to wait until he becomes of age to take her as his woman, his better half. It was a promise, perhaps she has forgotten.
She has left a deep void in his heart; hollow, empty, reserved for her return.
Many a time he has wavered to let go, but he couldn't. Time has passed but it feels like it's just yesterday that she has left unannounced. He yearns for her even in his sleep, yet no sign of life can be felt from her.
She could have told him her reason for leaving, he thinks. She could have come back to tell him she has found another, he wishes instead. Being left in the dark is something even the great powerful wizard, his reincarnation, his distant past, cannot resolve.
Ten years have passed and he has grown tired of waiting for nothing. Even if it takes a lie just to forget her, he must, for his sanity's sake. He is the great wizard after all. Matters of the heart heal over time but uncertainty takes up one's life.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: I decided to revamp The Glass Garden. Back then, I didn't quite fully grasp the direction of that fic so I left it at that. This time, I wanted to challenge myself to rewrite one of my works and I chose that. I hope you will enjoy this version as well. Reviews are very much appreciated.
