Big Milo 6

Driving down an unknown road, was a large RV, carrying its' passengers on an exciting trip.

"Is this great, or what?" Milo Murphy asked, excitedly "who would've thought that I would get an all-expenses paid trip in the mail?!"

"No one I can think of," Zack Underwood replied.

"I'm just glad you guys could come, this vacation will be better with my best friends here with me," Milo said.

"Hey, I'm happy to go on any vacation I don't have to pay for," Melissa Chase added.

"Okay, but what do we know about this San Fransokyo place, anyway?" Zack added "I mean, that doesn't even sound like a real city!"

"I did some research on it, and it's definitely real, despite the odd sounding name," Sara Murphy replied, displaying a laptop. The three teens gathered around the screen.

"According to this, the city is a hub of technology," she replied "all manner of high-tech devices have been made there, and it's home to a number of young scientific minds."

"That's great, I love technology!" Milo replied.

"You do?" a skeptical Melissa, asked, cocking one eyebrow curiously.

"Well, actually I'm a little indifferent towards it, but it could be fun to see it being made," Milo admitted.

"That still sounds like a weird name though, San Fransokyo," Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz said, from his position in the driver's seat "it sounds like San Francisco & Tokyo had a baby; not, not, really of course, 'cause, you know, they're cities and not real, so they can't actually conceive a child."

"Yeah, we got that," Sara replied before turning to Milo "why did he come again?" she asked in a hushed tone.

"He really wanted to come," Milo explained, "and besides," he added, under his breath "I think mom & dad really wanted him out of the house."

"It's too bad we're not actually going to San Francisco, I've always wanted to visit there," Doof said "you know, see some of the sights, like the Golden Gate Bridge, or Alcatraz, or Fisherman's Wharf. 'Wharf,' that's…that's a weird word, right? 'Wharf?' I mean, what even is that? That's one of those words where if you say it enough it starts to lose all meaning. Wharf…wharf…wharf…wharf…."

"Yeah, I can imagine why they wouldn't want him around," Sara replied sarcastically "well, good thing I brought these," she added, producing some ear buds from her pocket, then using music to block out Doof's rambling.

A half hour later….

"…wharf, yup, totally no longer makes sense," Doof replied before noticing a road sign "ooh we're here, hang on everyone."

The RV pulled past, as the passengers looked at the sign.

"'Now entering San Fransokyo,'" Melissa read "Zack's right, now that I read it, it does sound made up."

"Thank you."

"Looks nice though," Milo said, observing through the window "kind of like Tokyo, but with a little San Francisco influence thrown in."

"That's exactly what I said," Doof commented.

"No, you said it was like two cities having a baby, before pointing out that was physically impossible," Melissa reminded him.

"I fail to see how that's not the same."

"Okay guys, let's just calm down," Milo said "I'm sure we'll all feel better once we get settled in. According to my note, we're staying at someplace called the Nagasaki Hotel."

"A hotel? Isn't the entire point of an RV that's it's designed for you to live in?" Zack asked.

"Fine then, you stay in the RV, I'm gonna enjoy myself in the hotel," Melissa told him.

"This is already shaping up to be a great vacation," Milo said "and the best thing is, we haven't had any problems with Murphy's Law yet."

Suddenly, the steering wheel came off in Doof's hand "uh-oh"

"Spoke too soon," Melissa told him.

"Not to worry, I have a spare one," Milo said, producing a steering wheel from his backpack.

He threw it to Doof, but it missed and crashed through the windshield instead.

"Well, that's not good," Milo commented.

"Ya think?!" Zack replied.

The RV began barreling down the road, sending the occupants bouncing around. Meanwhile, Milo reached into his backpack and pulled out some sheets.

"Guys, quick."

"What are we gonna do, sleep?" Zack asked.

"Nope," Milo replied and rushed to the back, with he and Sara prying the window open.

"Um, I hate to seem ungrateful, but I can't steer this thing and we're coming up on a building!" Doof exclaimed.

"Not to worry Dr. D, we've got it," Milo said "okay guys, hold out the sheets…now!"

The four did so, causing them to act as a makeshift sail. Moving them around, they used the sheets to harmlessly maneuver the RV to a nearby alley, where it stopped after Doof slammed on the brakes, sending everyone flying into each other.

"See, everything worked out, like usual," Milo commented happily.

"Zack, get your arm out of my face," Melissa said.

"Sorry, sorry," Zack replied, as everyone got up.

"Well, looks like we're walking the rest of the way," Sara said "and I'm gonna have to call mom & dad and tell them the RV is busted…again."

"Relax everyone," Milo said "it's like my dad always says 'when your RV loses its' steering wheel, then it's time to take a walk."

"No offense Milo, but your dad sure has some weird sayings," Melissa commented.

"Yeah, they can't all be winners."

About 15 or so minutes later, the gang checked into the hotel and arrived at the room they had been assigned.

"Wow, check out the size of this room!" Melissa said, awed "I don't know who it is who sent you that letter and paid for this, but remind me to thank him."

"Have to admit, this is pretty 'suite,'" Zack said "get it? 'cause we're in a 'suite?'"

"Normally, I'd make fun of you for that, but I'm so happy about this room that I just can't," Melissa replied.

"Pretty swanky place they got here," Doof said "I wonder if I could book a massage."

"Okay, let's get settled in, then we can start exploring the town," Sara said.

After everyone was settled in, Sara quickly ran over to her brother.

"Milo, you're not going to believe it!" she exclaimed "I found it."

"Found what?"

"Remember that one Dr. Zone collectible I've been looking for?"

"You mean…"

"Yup, according to my official Dr. Zone collector's app, there's a store in the city that has one," Sara told him "finally, my collection will be complete!"

"Only Sara could get so excited over a toy," Melissa commented.

"Uh, excuse me, this is not a toy, ok," Sara replied "this is part of a series of limited edition Dr. Zone figurines from years ago."

"Oh excuse me," Melissa replied sarcastically, rolling her eyes.

"It's of Piñata Man, one of the show's strangest and most bizarre monsters," Sara explained "he only appeared in two episodes, despite being in the opening sequence."

"Only twelve were ever rumored to be made," Milo added.

"I've been searching for one for years, but no luck; now, I finally have a chance to own it."

"Well, what are we waiting for?" Milo asked.

"Nothing!" Sara said, "come on, let's go!"

"It's sad that finding a rare toy is going to be the highlight of this trip," Zack commented, as they left.

"Come on Zack, we don't know that," Melissa added "there's probably lots of fun stuff we can do here. Besides, it's only going to be a highlight for Sara, not us."

Next time, Sara's search for her collectible brings her into contact with a certain Fred Frederickson, and that leads to…well, something.
