Prologue

A man wearing a dirty, green hood and wearing things that could barely be described as clothing. He was barefoot, and covered in dirt and cuts, but right now it didn't matter.

He ran through a thick forest, keeping the directions in his head. As unlikely as it was, if he forgot and came just late enough to miss his chance, his plan would be ruined.

He used a branch to swing himself across, something most people wouldn't be able to do easily, but after being stranded on the island five years ago, it was second nature to him.

When he reached a large rock, the man started climbing it. When he got to the top of it, he saw a white boat in the distance.

Taking this as a signal to get started, he hurries down to an area where he had hidden a bow and some arrows underneath green cloth. He shoved a knife into the ground, and struck it with an arrow, making a spark just big enough to for a small flame.

He attached the arrow to the bowstring and pulled it back, waiting a moment to be precise before letting go. It hit a large pile of sticks, creating an explosion that got the nearby boat's attention.

He hurried to the boat after seeing it, and was almost immediately welcomed on the boat by two sailors who gave him water and agreed to take him home.

When they asked what his name was, he lowered his hood, revealing orange hair and blue eyes.

"My name," he said, "is Claus Queen."

Notes:

I thought of this a few weeks ago when I was re-watching Arrow, and I realized Oliver and Claus have similar pasts, in a way. So then, I started comparing Arrow and Earthbound characters, and then I decided I wanted to turn this into a fanfiction.

Since this is going to go over everything in Arrow (some things are probably going to be different, because they;re different characters), so I'll put some information about that here:

1) All flashbacks will be in italics

2) Scenes will be in different P.O.V.s, but any scene with Claus in it will be in his P.O.V. (and 1st person P.O.V.). The other scenes will be in 2nd person P.O.V.

3) I wasn't sure whether to list all the characters or not, but then decided to leave it a surprise. It also saves me from writing every character down (and I'm not even sure who to pick for a lot of them) and then I can change something last minute.
